YouTube Video | Valentine’s Day Drugstore Makeup + 3 Lip Options

Valentine's Day Drugstore Makeup Get Ready With Me

I love watching ‘Get Ready With Me’ videos – I find them to be very relaxing because you basically just watch someone applying their makeup and most of the time, there is good music playing in the background.  Today I’m showing you how I’ll be getting ready this Valentine’s Day, although….Neal and I will probably spend it at home having a picnic & watching a movie.

As mentioned in the video, I like to keep my makeup quite natural-looking for Valentine’s Day but I’ve included 3 lip options in case you would like to amp up the look.  And here’s the best news EVER:  I only used drugstore makeup (products you can buy at Clicks, Dis-Chem etc.) and affordable brushes too!

Just a note:  This is a full-face makeup look, so you will see me without a smidgeon of makeup on (that means no foundation, no concealer and worst of all…NO BROWS).  It took a lot to film this video, I had to give myself a pep talk before I pressed the record button because I’m putting my bare face out there for everyone to see.  Please be kind.  I know I don’t have the best skin (let’s be real, I’m not in my twenties anymore) or the best brows (I thought I was cool in high school and over-plucked them for years).  It’s my own fault, so I make do with the little tiny brows I have.

Anyway, if you’re interested to see how I achieved the makeup look you see in the photos, then click on the image below – it will take you straight through to my video on YouTube.

Please remember to give the video a thumbs up, share or subscribe to my YouTube channel – it really helps me out  & sharing on your social media platforms helps to get my videos out there for people to see.  Like Nikkie Tutorials would say: “Help me reeeeeaaaaach the people of the woooooorld!”

I hope you enjoy this video – and remember:  This makeup look can work for any time of the year, you don’t need a Valentine to recreate this look.  I was single for 26 years before meeting Neal and I would probably still be single, if I hadn’t met him.

Hi Luzanne, if you want to encourage brow growth consider trying MD lash factor. I know it’s primarily an eyelash serum but I was told to put it on my brows cos mine get patchy from stress and it works like a bomb. Really really. Not cheap but so worth it. But you are gorgeous so no need to worry!

    • 15 February 2015 / 09:20

I use MD Lash Factor on my lashes but I must admit, I haven’t tried using it on my brows. I’ll definitely give it a try, thanks for the recommendation & kind words.

And thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog post & watch my video. 🙂

I’ve seen them at the Clicks in The Grove, as well as Menlyn if I remember correctly. I usually shop at Clicks stores in Centurion but will keep my eyes open for the Jumbo Eye Pencils in Pretoria.
