YouTube Video – Makeup Tutorial | Romantic & Girly

Romantic Girly Makeup Tutorial Look

My first makeup tutorial on YouTube – eeeep!  I hope you enjoy this video, it’s a super fun & girly makeup look using mostly pink & purple shades, plus a pop of silver to brighten up the lid.  As mentioned in the video, please don’t feel like you need to own all the products I have used in the tutorial to recreate the makeup look – going forward (starting with this blog post), I will always try to list a couple of dupes for the products I use.  I also don’t want you guys to feel like you have to go out and buy the makeup I use, try to work with what you have at home.

I mentioned in the ‘Show More’ section of my video that I would list all the products I used (face, eyes & lips) in this blog post, so here you go:

♥  MAC Fast Response Eye Cream

♥  Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation – 52 Vanilla (applied with beautyblender)

♥  Bobbi Brown Corrector – Light to Medium Bisque (applied with fingers)

♥  Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer – Warm Beige (applied with fingers, blended with beautyblender)

♥  MAC Brow Pencil – Lingering

The brushes I used to apply the eye makeup are mentioned in the video:

Dupes for Naked 3 Palette – Limit:

♥  The Sigma Warm Neutrals palette actually contains a shade that is quite similiar to this dusty rose shade, it’s called ‘Cozy’.

♥  The Inglot Freedom System eyeshadow in 319 is also similar, maybe just a bit lighter and less dusty.

♥  NYX Let Them Eat Cake palette contains great dupes for both Limit & Nooner.

Dupes for Naked 3 Palette – Nooner:

♥  The Inglot Freedom System eyeshadow in 344 is similar, but a bit more brown.

♥  As mentioned above, the NYX Let Them Eat Cake palette contains great dupes for both Limit & Nooner.

Dupes for Naked 2 Palette – Verve:

♥  Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette (top right shade) is similar, but a bit more warm toned.

♥  The Inglot Freedom System eyeshadows in 420 and 501 are similar.

Dupes for Sigma Warm Neutrals Palette – Russet:

♥  MAC Sketch is similar, just a bit more purple-toned.

♥  Wet n Wild Knock On Wood palette (bottom shade) is similar, but a bit lighter and more shimmery.

♥  Sleek i-Divine Respect Palette (second from the left, bottom row) is very similar, but is a matte shade.

♥  Stila Eyes Are The Window Body Palette (top right shade) called ‘Garnet’ is similar.

Dupes for Sigma Warm Neutrals Palette – Oyster Sand:

♥  MAC Hush is similar.

♥  Wet n Wild Walking On Eggshells (top shade) is similar, but more peachy-toned.

♥  The Inglot Freedom System eyeshadow in 29 is very similar.

Please let me know what type of video you would like to see next?  Another makeup tutorial?  A hair tutorial?  A specific tag video?  I really want to create content that you guys will actually enjoy watching (that’s why I’m filming these videos), so any recommendations are welcome.

Hi Luzanne, love the vid! Would love to see one on the cat eye, or how to do foundation and blush cos I can never get it right! 🙂 keep em coming!

    • 16 September 2014 / 20:15

I’m planning on doing a highlight and contour video – so might include my foundation and blush routine in that video as well (otherwise I’ll do a separate video). 🙂

Thank you for the dupes, Luzanne! It really helps us South African ladies, especially since we don’t have easy access to the Naked palettes. In saying that, though, I placed an order for the Naked 3 palette about a week ago after finding your review on it. Found it in stock on Beauty Bay x

I would like to see more makeup tutorials, and definitely a manicure demo of some sort.

    • 16 September 2014 / 20:17

Yay! I hope you love the Naked 3 palette as much as I do, Porchia! 😀

Will definitely do a mani video, a couple of people have asked me for that as well. x

Lovely!!! I love the colours I also love the fact that its so doable at home and that I dont have to go out and take a course in makeup. you make it look really easy and simple (especially for me and my lack of hand eye cordination). I love that. Thank you

    • 16 September 2014 / 20:20

That’s exactly what I wanted to hear, Carmen! I’m so glad you found that it looks easy and that you can do it yourself, that’s how I want my videos to come across. So I succeeded – yay! 😀

Hi Luzanne, did you do a follow up blog on your favourite international online stores? I made a note of the local ones you mentioned but can’t seem to find the international ones. Love this look btw.

    • 16 September 2014 / 20:41

Hey Stephanie – I’ll be loading that blog post this week still. 🙂
