YouTube Video – Empties #1 | MAC, L’Oréal, Sorbet, Moroccanoil & More!

Empties 1

There’s a new video waiting to be checked out by your eyeballs on my YouTube channel.  This time around I’m doing an ‘Empties’ video for you – as mentioned in the video, I was actually planning on doing a hair tutorial and review of the Babyliss Curl Secret but that turned out to be a complete disaster.  Needless to say, I am practising filming tutorials for you guys and will hopefully have one up soon!

Empties posts or videos can seem a little bit strange sometimes…the idea of hoarding trash just so that I can photograph or film a video of the products…well, it could seem a bit loony to some people.  But, I personally love Empties posts / videos because I find them to be very informative (they’re like mini reviews of various products in one post).  You’re basically getting someone’s holistic opinion about a product after it has been used up (or in my case, not completely used up sometimes).  Every so often I start using a product and kind of dislike it at first, only to stick it out and use it for a couple more tries and end up loving it!  Or, I start out loving the product but then something might happen, to make me stop using it (it ends up breaking me out, or drying out, or it’s just not suited for my skin- or hair type).

That’s why I think ‘Empties’ posts and videos are so great, because you get to talk about your experience with the products, whether you would repurchase them and / or whether you would recommend them to your readers / viewers.  If you could see the small mountain of empty products that are currently waiting to be mentioned in an ‘Empties’ video or blog post, you would think I’m next in line to appear on an episode of Secret Hoarders.  I have been keeping my empty containers for probably the last 6 months in anticipation of my YouTube ‘debut’.

Disclaimer:  Don’t worry, girls – all the products in my ‘Empties’ video have been washed and dried.  If there’s one thing that really freaks me out sometimes, it’s when beauty vloggers hold the products up to the camera and there are very questionable substances and hairs stuck to the containers.  *gulp*

Ok, so enough waffling…you can check out my video below and if you would like to watch it on a bigger screen, just click on the ‘YouTube’ button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.  Please remember to give the video a thumbs up (if you enjoyed the video) and subscribe to my YouTube channel.  Subscribing to a YouTube channel will keep you up-to-date with the latest video updates from your favourite vloggers, that means you won’t have to go search for that specific vlogger or new video on YouTube.  Each new video will appear in your ‘My Subscriptions’ tab on the left when you open up YouTube.

Ok, so my next video will be the review and hair tutorial on the Babyliss Curl Secret (and by the way, it’s currently on sale at Clicks for R 1199,00 – you save R 300,00).  A couple of you guys have already asked me on Twitter & the actual ‘Empties’ video in the comments section for a makeup tutorial on the eye-makeup look I am wearing in the video, so I will film that for you guys as well.

Have a happy Monday tomorrow, everyone!  My ‘Online Shopping 101’ blog post will be up tomorrow, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
