I haven’t been this excited about a giveaway in quite some time! A few weeks ago Real Techniques South Africa reached out to me again and asked if I would be interested in hosting a giveaway for them. I’ve really loved working and collaborating with them in the past, so it was a no-brainer for me. They emailed me a photo of the holiday set, and when I opened up the jpeg, I nearly fell off my chair. Three stunning Real Techniques Bold Metals brushes, and wait for it: One of them is LIMITED EDITION (never to be seen again). Fortunately for me, they also offered to send me the same set to review as part of the giveaway blog post.
If you are not familiar with Real Techniques Bold Metals makeup brushes, then you’re missing out! I can’t help but lovingly stroke my bare face with one of their brushes each time I sit down to do my makeup – they are so, so soft. The bristles are synthetic (all Real Techniques brushes are cruelty-free) so they have a very smooth feel to them. Unlike natural bristles, synthetic bristles don’t have a cuticle, which makes them great to use with liquid, cream or gel products, because they won’t absorb or trap makeup (which can sometimes lead to breakouts).
The Bold Metals brushes feel lovely and comfortable in the hand because they are weighted at the ferrule and tapered towards the tip of the handle. They also have diamond-shaped edges to keep them from rolling off surfaces – genius! In this trio, each handle has a different metallic shade: Gold, rose gold, and silver. *swoon*
All the Bold Metals brushes have a very luxurious look and feel, and they are definitely the most exquisite brushes in my collection. The brushes are shed-proof because the bristles are hand glued into the ferrules, the brushes also clean very easily and dry very quickly as well. Let’s take a look at the 3 brushes that are included in the Bold Metals Collection Essentials set:
Limited Edition Angled Powder Brush – This is their largest makeup brush to date, the exclusive angled head blends creams and powders seamlessly around the contours of the face. It is ideal for your setting makeup with because it picks up just the right amount of powder, and dusts it evenly onto skin without leaving a chalky layer behind. You can also use this brush to bronze the perimeters of the face, the bristles are very soft and fluffy to give your skin that soft focus finish.
Oval Shadow Brush – The bristles are soft, dense and sturdy, the brush looks similar to the MAC 217 brush but it’s not as fluffy. If the Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush and the Real Techniques Setting Brush had a baby, this would be it. The full, rounded shape covers your lid in eyeshadow with just one sweep and allows you to blend the edges out in the crease. This brush is also perfect for applying a cream shadow (like the MAC Paint Pots) to the eyelid or blending a pencil or cream shadow into the lower lash line.
Tapered Blush Brush – This brush is definitely a multi-tasker and can be used for everything from cream / powder blushes to liquid / powder highlighters, to contour sticks or powders. The brush is ever so slightly pointed at the end, which means it can focus colour on the high points or hollows of the cheeks. The soft bristles gently buff any formulation and colour out to an airbrushed finish.
The Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection Essentials set is worth over R 899,99 BUT won’t be sold in South Africa unfortunately. I’m sure you’re dying for me to get to the part where I tell you a bit more about the giveaway.
To enter, all you have to do is complete your chosen entries via the Rafflecopter widget below. Simple and easy! If you are not sure how to use the widget below, take a look at this blog post (I cover a ‘How To’ towards the end of the post).
Please note: I’ve added another Twitter entry to the giveaway (usually I only have one tweet option) because I’ve noticed not everyone uses to Twitter button in the Rafflecopter widget to tweet the generic giveaway message that includes a link to the blog post. So I’ve added another option for you to RETWEET my giveaway tweet (the one with the photo). See below:
