If you’re a regular here on Pink Peonies blog, then you probably already know that I have a certain ‘style’ when it comes to makeup. I prefer fresh-faced, feminine makeup looks – but most importantly, I like them to be quick and easy to achieve. I’m not a makeup artist, I don’t have any formal training in makeup artistry, nor do I apply makeup (on myself) every single day. I love makeup (in fact, I adore it) but I work from home and I just don’t see the point in applying a full face of makeup every morning. I probably should, though, because I’m sure my makeup application skills would be a lot more impressive if I practiced more. But, even if I had mad skills like Jackie Aina, Laura Lee, or Jaclyn Hill…I would probably still prefer youthful, natural makeup looks (on myself).
Today’s video is the epitome of the type of makeup look I love – super easy to achieve, I enhanced the features I love most about myself, plus I only used a handful of products (truth be told, it probably depends on how big your hands are).
I am incredibly proud of this video – mainly because it is my first YouTube collaboration with a high-end luxe brand like Estée Lauder. It’s because of YOU (my readers) that I am in such a fortunate position to work with some really amazing makeup brands – so thank you!
The Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Foundation needs absolutely no introduction here on the blog, I’ve featured it in a number of different blog posts – my top 2 being:
♥ How To: Use beautyblender Makeup Sponges (a step-by-step guide)
Below is a photo of the products I used to achieve the above makeup look – trust me, you really want to watch the video (even if just to see how to use 1 product in a variety of different ways). Oh, and the single eyeshadow I used as a face highlighter has officially become one of my favourite illuminating products!
I would mean SO much to me if you took the time to go watch the video (it’s a little bit shorter than my usual videos) and perhaps even leave a comment. The tutorial features a smoked liner and bright glossy lip makeup look, plus I chat about a couple of tips & tricks to streamline your makeup routine.
I forgot to mention in the video: My perfect Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation shade is ‘Fresco (2C3)’. As mentioned towards the end of the tutorial – you can visit an Estée Lauder counter to get iMatched, and they will provide you with a foundation sample that should last you for around 7 days. Make sure you ask them for a sample before you purchase the foundation, just to make sure the shade is a perfect match and / or suitable for your skin type. I have combination skin, and Double Wear looks very natural on my skin, all while controlling oil quite well around my T-zone.
Have you ever used Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation? Let me know in the comments section of the video!
You can also purchase any Estée Lauder product in their South African online store here. Plus, I never knew this: Estée Lauder offers returns on ALL foundation purchases that were made in their online store (I don’t know of any other brand in South Africa that does this to be honest).
If you love wearing a bright lip, but don’t like spending a lot of time getting a precise application, then this is the video for you!
Remember to watch in HD (720p) – all you have to do is click on the gear icon at the bottom right corner of the video screen and choose 720p.
Please remember to give the video a ‘thumbs up’ if you enjoyed it (it really helps me out), and share on your social media platforms if you think it’s something that might interest your friends or family.
I hope you enjoy!
Please note: Product names and descriptions will be shown on the screen (in the video) while I’m using each product.
If you’re keen on purchasing the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation online (I’m so into online shopping these days, mainly because I can do it in my PJs and slippers), click here: Double Wear Foundation. As mentioned the shade ‘Fresco (2C3)’ is my perfect shade (I’m usually around an NW20 in a MAC foundation) – this might help if your skintone is similar to mine.
The above link is NOT an affiliate link (I don’t earn money from any purchases made) BUT it would help me a lot if you did use this specific link (even if just to take a look at the products in their online store) because it’s one way for Estée Lauder South Africa to see if my readers are interested in their products after watching my video (in other words…was my video a success?).
