Products Popping Up – September 2015

New Products Launching September

Ok, so I know I’m a bit late with this blog post but things have been so crazy busy for me lately.  I was in Namibia for 3 days last week attending my uncle’s funeral, which left me feeling both drained and despondent.  As Beauty South Africa’s blogger of the month I’ve had to write 2 articles and film & edit a YouTube video for their YouTube channel.  I’ve also had sponsored blog posts (Giorgio Armani and upcoming Kiehl’s campaigns) and giveaways that I needed to write and prep for this past week and a half, so I haven’t really had a chance to sit down and write my ‘Products Popping Up’ blog post.  This is probably one of my favourite blog posts to write, mainly because I know my readers enjoy them so much, so it has been a pink elephant in one of the corners of my mind these past 2 weeks.

Today is Saturday, I woke up bright & early this morning to sit down, write the blog post and create the images.  It’s going to be a long one because I have A LOT of new product launches to show you.  I’m sipping away on a fruit smoothie – I recently bought a Nutribullet (I have the grey one) and I’m obsessed!  Today’s recipe includes banana, frozen mango, frozen raspberries, fresh pineapple, chia seeds and coconut water.  I’ve tried the whole adding kale or spinach to your smoothies thing, but I can still taste the greens.  Blegh…  So I’m sticking to fruit smoothies.  I know fruit contains a lot of sucrose and it might make me gain some weight, but I only have one small smoothie each morning for breakfast so it should be alright.  And I eat loads of veggies throughout the day, so I don’t really need the added greens.

Anyway, now that I’ve bored you to death with my smoothie story…try to wake up and go get yourself something to drink (or eat).  I’ll wait here until you get back…  Ready?  Ok, let’s go!

Stila Got Inked Cushion Eye Liner La Quill

Stila Got Inked Cushion Eye Liner (R 335,00) – Bold eye liner looks, from tight lines to cat eyes, have never been so easy to achieve.  Got Inked Cushion Eye Liner is a lightweight, yet richly pigmented liquid eye liner dispensed through a unique cushion soaked in colour.  A full range of 6 dazzling colours, from flat to metallic finishes, can be expertly applied with the custom designed La Quill Precision Eye Liner Brush that dips into the sponge like a calligraphy pen and draws across the lid in a slow, smooth, fluid motion.  Stila products are available at Woolworths and Stuttafords stores, or online at Spree, Retail Box or Zando but I’m not sure if the online stores will receive this limited edition stock (so best to check in-store).

Hills Prescription Diet td

Did you know September is Hill’s Pet Dental month?  Hill’s Prescription Diet t/d and Hill’s Science Plan Oral Care are the only complete foods in South Africa that have been awarded the US Veterinary Oral Health Council Seal of Acceptance for plaque and tartar control.  The kibbles have a patented fibre matrix that works like an edible toothbrush as your pet eats, gently scrubbing the exposed tooth and cleaning away plaque, thus avoiding tartar build-up.  Available exclusively from veterinary practices.

As you can see in the photo above, Jezebelle was VERY excited about this special delivery (isn’t she a little cutie patootie!?).  Please excuse the bad quality photo, I took it with my phone.  By the way, she’s not wearing her collar because I bathed her earlier that day.

And that’s the end of probably the longest blog post I have ever loaded on the blog – phew!

P.S. I have TWO giveaways currently live on the blog – have you entered them?  Enter to win a big acrylic makeup organiser from GlamCubes here, and enter to win 1 of 3 Giorgio Armani Sì fragrances here.

    • Luzanne 17 September 2015 / 15:41

So pretty! I ordered one of the Max Factor blushes from overseas a few months ago – it’s called ‘Seductive Pink’ and won’t be available in South Africa. It’s beautiful & so smooth and blendable.

I have shark eyes for that RT Contour brush, can’t wait for it to be in one of my local Foschini / Clicks stores!

The Hask new shampoo and conditioner also sounds very yummy!!

Haha! I agree! I have grabby hands for the Physician’s Formula products! 😉

    • Luzanne 17 September 2015 / 16:03

I think they classify combination skin in the oily skin category. The new range only has a light moisturiser for oily skin (which should be suitable for combo skin too) and a day cream for normal to dry skin. :)

I agree, I want to go sniff the new HASK products.

    Would love that everything lol

Do you have any idea if the Eucerin anti redness concealer really works for Rosacea?

Mwahz…. Thanks for the post 😉

    • Luzanne 17 September 2015 / 16:38

I have that Eucerin product and I’ve used it a couple of times already. When I had that bad allergic reaction a few weeks ago, I used the Eucerin AntiREDNESS Concealing day lotion to see if it would cover up my redness and calm my skin down. The lotion is a light green colour and I wouldn’t say it conceals redness, I’d say it supposed to colour correct redness. It didn’t really conceal or correct that much, if I’m honest, it just slightly evened out my skin tone. But I think the main focus of this is that it will calm sensitised skin. Rosacea-prone skin is often susceptible to sensory irritations and is hypersensitive, so they’ve designed a formula that will work at the very source of hyper-reactivity. I must admit my skin did feel relieved and soothed from hypersensitivity where other lotions would cause burning sensations.

This is my favourite type of blog post! Thanks Luzanne! I have been using the Herbalife Skin range for a few months now and it is amazing. Within a week of using it my skin was completely clear and more moisturised. I hardly ever get breakouts now (only one small pimple once a month). It cleans without overdrying and my skin looks great! My favourites of the range are the polishing citrus cleanser and berry scrub,

    • Luzanne 17 September 2015 / 16:39

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post, Euneen. :) I’m so happy to hear you are loving your Herbalife skin care products. I received a couple of their products and I’m looking forward to testing everything out.

Oh my word, that WAS a long read! Hehe

For the Physician’s Formula Youthful Wear Spotless range, does spotless mean it helps the skin to not break out? What are the spots they refer to?

    xxx – Jane Wonder –

    • Luzanne 17 September 2015 / 16:42

      Haha! 😀

No, it doesn’t contain any ingredients that will help with acne or blemishes. The Spotless range is designed for hyperpigmentation, age spots, redness (which one could say includes acne scars) and to even out the skin. I’m very keen to test it out as I’ve read mixed reviews. xo

    • Luzanne 17 September 2015 / 16:43

Oeg, ‘n lekker koppie tee klink nou heerlik! Dankie dat jy altyd hier kom inloer, Anina. xox

Great article! As a beauty (and dog) fanatic, I love knowing what’s new! – It also gives me a good excuse to go to Dischem :)

I am currently trying the GLISS shampoo and conditioner and I must say that I was quite disappointed with the lack of moisture in the conditioner. The shampoo is lovely and smells divine but the conditioner just leaves my dead and dry ends even more dead and dry! Did anyone else have the same experience?

    • Luzanne 17 September 2015 / 16:45

Here’s a heads up: The Physician’s Formula, Essie and NIVEA products are already out at Dis-Chem. :)

I haven’t used the GLISS products yet, I was sent a press pack a few weeks ago but I still have to get round to testing out the products. I’ll let you know what I think of the conditioner once I’ve tried it.

Thanks for popping by the blog, Pascalle.

How gorgeous is your precious fur child next to her goodies!

That Stila quill is amazing! I would feel like a posh Katniss from Hunger Games with that.

    • Luzanne 17 September 2015 / 16:46

Thank you for your kind words, Rhea! 😀

Haha, that’s so true! I didn’t even think of the Hunger Games!

  17. Lulu 15 September 2015 / 16:40

Great post on so many ‘love to have’ products! Beautiful photos, especially the one with Jezzy baby!

  18. R Fourie 15 September 2015 / 17:33

So many new products….. where do I begin to choose?

Yes, I agree that second shade (peachy pink) Max Factor Crème Puff Blush is my favourite too. The Real Techniques Bold Metal Brushes are also to die for.

Thank you, Luzanne. I enjoy reading everything :-)

    • Luzanne 17 September 2015 / 16:48

I hope the Max Factor blushes will have testers because I remember there was one of the blush shades that didn’t swatch very well (I was at the Max Factor media day a few months ago).

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post, I really appreciate it. :)

  19. Alexa Pohl 15 September 2015 / 20:37

Thanks for the post Luzanne. That REN Over-night Facial sounds lovely.
I’m definitely excited about the Eucerin anti-redness day cream for my sensitive acne rosacea skin!

    • Luzanne 17 September 2015 / 16:49

You’re welcome, Alexa. 😉 Yes, I agree – the might-time facial looks very interesting. I hope the Eucerin lotion works for you. :)

  20. Roshan Heuvel 16 September 2015 / 09:33

I can now start my work day!!! LOL My favourite posts to read! It’s like my go to guide! Thanks Luzanne for giving me my morning candy….have an awesome day further!

    • Luzanne 17 September 2015 / 16:50

Bwahaha! Loved reading this comment – thank you, Roshan. 😀

  21. Vivella 16 September 2015 / 14:07

Love the Physicians Formula packaging, the colours in the Mac eye shadow quad, the Body Shop goodies and the RT brushes…I will have to keep adding to my wish list! Thanks for a great post.

    • Luzanne 17 September 2015 / 16:50

Thank you, Vivella – my wish list is already so long and I just keep adding new products to the list each month. 😉

  22. Simone Cameron 16 September 2015 / 18:46

Where to start….those RT brushes? They are so stunning…oi just too pricey for me :(

The easiest bridal collection is beautiful!

We have no nespresso boutique in PE delivery fees are a bit high considering I just want to get a few sleeves. Online u have to buy 5 or 10 sleeves per flavour which is ridiculous. So sadly I probably won’t get to sample these :( a friend usually stocks up for me and when she comes to PE she brings my caffeine fix. He he.

Love these posts…so much I want…but at the rate my Adam is going through nappies…lmao…I will be lucky to buy a nail polish.

Look after yourself… oh wait. ..I had to lol at the smoothie. I love spinach in mine… how do you taste the green??? LOL

    • Luzanne 17 September 2015 / 16:54

They are quite pricey, I must admit. I won’t be able to buy more than 1 brush right now, and I’m going straight for that contour brush. :) I hope it’s a good one!

I had no idea you had to buy 5 / 10 sleeves of each flavour, that’s so weird. I know my sister-in-law has bought Nespresso pods online before and she didn’t mention anything about a minimum amount.

Haha! I hope all is going well with Adam…it’s good that he poops a lot, right?

I can taste something yuck in the smoothie when there’s a leafy green veg in there…it tastes like dirt. Blegh!

      • Simone Cameron 18 September 2015 / 11:05

I will double check but I’m sure when I tried to checkout with pods it automatically updated it to 5 sleeves per flavour. Maybe it’s changed now though…so let me check.

Have you tried the mugG and bean pods? Available at checkers and nespresso machine compatible. The house blend is quite nice :)

Oi yes lots of poop is good…but not on my.pocket. We went through 88 nappies in a week. Grr

  23. Sibahle 17 September 2015 / 09:44

I’m sooooooo excited about Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb. I have always been a fan. Thank you Luzanne.

    • Luzanne 17 September 2015 / 16:55

You’re welcome, Sibahle. Thank you for being such a loyal reader, I always see your name pop up in my comments. :)

  24. Kelly 18 September 2015 / 09:55

It’s always so refreshing and fun to read your blog posts. Amazing as always!! Will Definitely like to try the Mac range you mentioned.

Just some info, I’m not sure if you’ve mentioned anything about facial brushes. I’ve been through all your posts but I may have forgotten x_x I’ve recently started using the one I purchased from Dischem. It was retailing for R12.95 (If I remember correctly). It’s a little brush which is about palm sized and has the softest bristles which can be used for everyday use, when washing your face. It’s like a mini exfoliator and so inexpensive! Really does make your skin feel super smooth and clean after washing your face, compared to just using your hands. I thought I’d share it with you so that you could share it with your readers :)

Can’t wait for more posts from you!

  25. Nasheta 28 September 2015 / 10:40

Hi, Any idea when the Stila Got Inked and La Quill will be in store? Complete lust-have products:) !

  26. Suries 28 September 2015 / 22:36

I am desperate for a Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette but I have no idea where to buy one in SA? Please can you help me… Xo

  27. Aisha O. 4 October 2015 / 06:42

Lol, your dog is a natural model! She’s soooo cute and well behaved. My lil’ fur ball always gets excited and runs towards me whenever he spots the camera. Fail.

  28. Marelize Ferreira 6 October 2015 / 12:56

Looking like SUUUUUCH a stalker right now, commenting on an older blog post and all, but I am dying to get my hands on the Eucerin Anti Redness, but it’s been a fruitless attempt in Cape Town (a snooty lady in Dischem started laughing at me when I showed her an actual picture of the packaging and Clicks assistants in Canal Walk said it’s not even on their new stock list yet). Do you know when it’s supposed to launch in Clicks and Dischem? WANT. IT! 😀
