Products Popping Up – May 2015

New Products Launching May 2015

Holy moly, it feels like I posted one of these blog posts just the other day!  Today I’m sharing new products / collections launching during the month of May – I have makeup, skin care, bath & body care, hair care and nail polishes to share with you.

Remember:  It’s Mother’s Day this Sunday, and I’ve decided to mention a few gift ideas for Mum at the end of this blog post.  If you hurry, you might still be able to find a few of the LUSH Mother’s Day goodies in-store (almost everything is sold out online).  I can personally recommend the Mother Superior Bubble Bar (her scent-sister is the LUSH Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub, which smells like fresh, clean laundry) and the Yummy Mummy Shower Gel (it features an uplifting fruity fragrance & contains silver glitters).

As always go grab your favourite cup of yummy (my current beverage of choice is the Nespresso Monsoon Malabar) and let’s jump right in!

The Body Shop Honey Bronze

The Body Shop is launching some pretty amazing goodies this month & I’m very excited!  Here’s what they have to say about their new ‘Honey Bronze’ range: “We can’t promise you holidays that last all year…but we can help you get that ‘just stepped off the beach’ look any time with our Honey Bronze range.  A head-to-toe sunkissed glow with a totally natural look. Remember, smart girls fake it!”

Honey Bronze Tinted Leg Mist (R 220,00) – This innovative leg mist gives an instant, even bronzed glow whilst leaving your legs feeling refreshed.  No oil, no shimmer, no transfer…just a natural-looking matte tan!

Honey Bronze Highlighting Domes (R 145,00 each) – Highlight cheeks with a natural-looking flush of warm shimmer, whatever your skin tone.  The creamy, lightweight texture glides onto skin for a soft finish with a delicious honey fragrance.

Honey Bronze Face Gel (R 120,00) – Get a subtle sun glow. This translucent lightweight formula leaves skin with a sunkissed matte tan that looks utterly natural, never orange or streaky:  It really is foolproof!  The refreshing gel texture quenches skin all day whilst adding a natural bronze glow to the skin.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Enhancer

Vitamin C is a great nutrient for overall skin health, helping to maintain plump, moisturised skin.  It helps skin cell renewal and regeneration, revealing skin that feels smoother and looks more glowing.  It is also a powerful antioxidant, fighting against free radicals that damage & age the skin.

The Body Shop sourced one of the most potent natural sources of Vitamin C in the world: The mighty camu camu berry, from the depths of the Amazonian rainforest.  Each berry is traditionally harvested on canoes during the rainy season and packs a punch with up to 60 TIMES THE VITAMIN C POWER of an orange!

Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser (R 155,00) – Say goodbye to grumpy, dull, fatigued skin with this gel cream moisturiser.  Skin is clarified, revealing your natural, healthy glow.  Fresh, lightweight formula fights signs of fatigue, with a new, invigorating fragrance.  Also infuses skin with juicy moisture.

Vitamin C Instant Glow Enhancer (R 140,00) – An instant fix for a healthy-looking glow!  Enhances skin with a fresh rosy tint, whilst leaving it feeling velvety soft and silky.  Use as the last step of your skincare regime and as a touch up throughout the day to boost your glow.

Bourjois Twist Up The Volume Ultra Black Edition Mascara

Bourjois launches their Dark Privilège collection this month, which will features a mascara, plus eyeliners and pencils.  Bourjois products are available at selected Clicks stores.

Twist Up The Volume Ultra Black Edition Mascara (R 149,95) – You already know Twist Up The Volume Mascara, but now you can find it in an extraordinarily intense Ultra-Black version.  Black pigments strengthen the formula and create an intense and vibrant black that lasts all day long.  Thanks to the two-position brush, Twist Up The Volume Mascara lengthens, separates and coats lashes, for an ultra-complete result.

Position 1:  The bristles are fanned out and offer optimal length and separation.

Position 2:  The bristles are close together to maximise the amount of mascara and produce even more volume and intensity.

Bourjois Dark Privilege

Ultra Black Liner Pinceau (R 129,95) – An even more intense liquid formula means this liner brush offers a denser line with the same ideal curve and lasts up to 16 hours.

Ultra Black Liner Pen (R 109,95) – Thanks to its precise retractable point and its soft and intense texture, the Ultra-Black Liner Pen is just as easy to use as a pencil!  In addition to being long-wearing, it also offers a saturated shade of black.  An integrated pull out pencil sharpener at the base of the pencil makes it user-friendly & easy to sharpen.

Ultra Black Felt-Tip Liner (R 129,95) – A high-precision felt-tip liner for a well-defined and precise result. With this liner, black is ultra-black!

Ultra Black Mega Liner (R 129,95) – A felt-tip liner with a wide angled tip for thin or thick graphic lines.

Morgan Taylor Midnight Masquerade

Morgan Taylor is launching their stunning limited edition nail polish collection called ‘Midnight Masquerade’.  Inspired by the mystery and intrigue of a masquerade ball, this colour palette features deep sensual shades balanced by opulent and adventurous tones.  If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know Morgan Taylor is firmly up there with my favourite brands.  They have fantastic formulas & a growing range of gorgeous colours!  Midnight Masquerade is their Winter 2015 collection and features 6 shades – 2 glitters, 2 metallics and 2 cremes.  Morgan Taylor nail polishes retail for R 123,00 at selected Dis-Chem stores & nail salons.

Your nearest Clinique counter will be stocking the brand new Pop Lip Colour and Primer lipsticks this month (already available online).  Luxurious yet weightless formula merges bold, saturated colour with a smoothing primer.  Colour stays true, keeps lips comfortably moisturised for 8 hours.  I was fortunate to receive 2 of the shades (Grape Pop & Melon Pop) about a month ago when I met up with the Clinique SA PR team, and I must say, these lippies are incredible.  There are 16 beautiful shades available ranging from muted nudes to bold pops of colour.  The Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer lipsticks retail for R 280,00 each.

MAC Lightful C Tinted Cream

MAC Lightful C Tinted Cream SPF 30 with Radiance Booster  (R 460,00) – A colour-correcting cream that reduces imperfections while increasing the natural radiance of your skin.  Infused with a Lightful Radiance Booster and Vitamin C, it works to correct your overall complexion by reducing the appearance of pores and diminishing dark spots and hyper-pigmentation, while SPF 30 protects against UVA/UVB rays.  Available in 7 shades ranging from ‘Light’ to ‘Dark Deep’.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water

Smashbox launched their Photo Finish Primer Water (R 400,00) end of April / beginning of May.  I have been waiting for this to arrive in South Africa for such a long time (it’s a firm favourite amongst international beauty bloggers & vloggers) and my heart literally skipped a beat when I saw it at Red Square this past weekend (I bought it on the spot!).  A makeup primer spray that hydrates and revitalizes skin.  Get the benefits of priming, hydration, and sheer radiance with this all-in-one Photo Finish Primer Water.  Free of silicone, alcohol, and oil, it’s packed with revitalizing electrolytes that work to reawaken skin and restore moisture.  This enriched water instantly absorbs into skin for lasting hydration, leaving skin looking refreshed while it locks in makeup (it can also be used as a makeup setting spray).  I have also seen this at Edgars and Woolworths stores.

Pick n Pay stores will stock the Café de Bain range this month, featuring an indulgent ‘french patisserie inspired’ luxury bath & body collection.  Relax and treat yourself to some deliciously-scented, delectably pampering bath and body delicacies from the Café de Bain range.

The collection contains 3 scents with a selection of 2 bath products each – a 500ml bath crème (R 59,95) and a 250ml shower crème (R 49,95).

Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Mat

The Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Mat is now available in the Turquoise Studio online store!  I mentioned in my ‘Best Of Beauty 2014 – Beauty Tools’ blog post back in February that I was holding thumbs Turquoise Studio would be stocking this nifty little mat from Sigma Beauty.  I immediately placed an order as soon as I saw the tweet from Turquoise Studio notifying their followers that it was added to their online store.  The Spa Brush Cleaning Mat retails for R 525,00 and I will DEFINITELY be doing a review on it very soon!  I’m planning on doing a ‘How I Clean My Makeup Brushes’ blog post and it will hopefully be up in the next week or so.

Woolworths Slippers

Head on over to Woolworths to stock up on some pretty darn cute slippers – the ones you see above are part of the Mother’s Day 2015 range.  I already bought the top middle ones, but will be going back for the the bow pair (bottom middle).  Pricing ranges from R 99,95 to R 160,00 per pair.

Typo Mother's Day

Don’t forget to spoil Mom this coming Sunday!  Typo has some amazing Mother’s Day goodies in-store, you’re guaranteed to find something special for her.  My personal favourites = the above set (includes an oven mitt, apron & a dish towel) and their scented & embossed candles.

Benefit South Africa

Benefit Cosmetics are coming back to South Africa!  Hurraaaah!  I was so sad when they upped and left a few years ago but I’ve heard rumours they’re coming back for good.  I’m not 100% sure exactly when they’ll be back in-store but I’ll keep you posted!

Have a wonderful Monday, everyone!  I’m heading out the door now to go buy food & groceries for the week but I’ll reply to all comments and emails when I’m back.  I’ve been so slack with replying to comments on the blog lately & it has really been bothering me.  I’m the type of person who believes that if someone has taken the time to send you a comment or email, the least you can do is reply.  I’ve been going through a bit of a tough time lately (more on that in another blog post later this week) but I promise I’ll reply to all tweets, emails and comments a bit later today.

It WAS just the other day lol. Some amazing products coming this month.
I’d love to try out the Bourjois items, Maybelline lipsticks and definitely hoping to get my hands on some MAC Wash and Dry products.
Must say though, not very impressed with the Smashbox Photo Finish primer water. Would love to hear your thoughts once you test it properly.

    • Luzanne 4 May 2015 / 16:38

I both love and dread these blog posts because I always get so excited to share all the new launches but these blog posts take so long to compile. I won’t stop doing them, though, because I know everyone loves them. :)

I’m also keen to get my hands on some of those Bourjois eyeliners (and the mascara) and definitely a few of the MAC collection items too.

I’ve only used the Primer Water twice so far & I’m still on the fence… I love the spray nozzle though, it’s such a fine mist!

  2. Tarryn B 4 May 2015 / 12:00

YES! It’s like my dreams have come true! (Benefit coming back to SA). You can already buy the Clinique lipsticks online…and they look so awesome 😀

    • Luzanne 4 May 2015 / 16:39

I am SO glad they’re coming back to SA too – I have missed the ‘They’re Real’ mascara…it was my absolute favourite mascara at one stage!

  3. Andrea 4 May 2015 / 12:08

Oooh, lots of deliciousness here! I also bought those same slippers from Woolies, hehe 😉

    • Luzanne 4 May 2015 / 16:39

      They’re so warm & comfy, aren’t they? :)

  4. Anina 4 May 2015 / 13:14

Super opgewonde vir die Benefit comeback! :-)

  5. anye 4 May 2015 / 13:58

Ok, so if Benefit comes back my day will be made.Woohoo! Holding thumbs that it is true. I got my hands on the new tangle teazer blow trying brush – and yes it is as good as they say it is.

    • Luzanne 4 May 2015 / 16:41

Make sure you go ‘like’ their Facebook page (@BenefitSouthAfrica) – can’t wait to hear when & where they’ll be launching.

Aaaah, you lucky fish! Going to save up to buy myself one of those brushes!

  6. Roxy 4 May 2015 / 14:23

Ermigerd, everything is to die for! I am ecstatic to hear about Benefit coming back to SA, I always wondered why the ever left!?

Already bought a pair of those slippers for myself, and will go back to get a pair for my mom. :)

    • Luzanne 4 May 2015 / 16:42

No idea why they left… But I’m happy they’ll be back soon! Although my bank balance is not looking forward to their return, that’s for sure! 😉

  7. Janei Viljoen 4 May 2015 / 14:24

This is one of my favourite type of blog posts of yours. Love finding out what new products are coming. Where do you even find out when what is coming? Also I’m going to buy the BrushEgg from Swiitch to clean brushes since it looks great and are much cheaper.

    • Luzanne 4 May 2015 / 16:45

Thank you, Janei! :) Fortunately I have contact with a lot of beauty brands’ PR teams, so I’m often in the know about all the new releases. I’ve tested the BrushEgg and I wasn’t impressed at all – it’s not very user-friendly and a bit of a schlep to use (in my humble opinion).

  8. Nicky Johnson 4 May 2015 / 14:25

Benefit yeah, that is such good news, I’ve been using mine so sparingly. Whenever my employer goes over the sea we always put in our request and are super thrilled when he brings the goodies he he. Thank you for sharing such wonderful finds

    • Luzanne 4 May 2015 / 16:46

You’re so lucky to have an employer who travels abroad! 😉 It’s always nice to have a ‘beauty mule’ in your life…

  9. Debra 4 May 2015 / 14:28

My bank balance is not going to like this blog post so much, but I am loving everything!!

I always look forward to these posts.. Thank you for always keeping us updated on the latest and greatest, Luzanne! XOX

    • Luzanne 4 May 2015 / 16:46

      Bwahaha!! You’re very welcome, Debra. 😉 x

  10. Elize Swanepoel 4 May 2015 / 14:35

Wow, great products! My favorites are the Pinceau ultra black liner which lasts for 16 hours! Those Morgan Taylor nail polishes are fabulous. They are a bit pricey for me but wow, I would love to own all the shades featured. That Billion dollar brows kit looks really handy and I wouldn’t mind testing it out and see the results. And lastly …. the Benefit Cosmetics look fantastic! I love the colorful packaging and the products look very enticing to try out.

    • Luzanne 4 May 2015 / 16:48

Morgan Taylor polishes are fantastic quality! I’m very excited about the Billion Dollar Brows products, I’m all about upping my brow game! 😉

  11. farzana 4 May 2015 / 15:46

Morgan Taylor and Clinique lipsticks are top of my list. 😀

    • Luzanne 4 May 2015 / 16:48

The Clinique lipsticks feel so good on the lips, and the pigmentation is spot-on!!

  12. Lulu 4 May 2015 / 16:08

Wow, lovely products! Love the Clinique lip colours and the slippers from Woolies are so cute!

    • Luzanne 4 May 2015 / 16:49

They’re even more stunning in person!

  13. Candice Weir 4 May 2015 / 17:01

So many things to try :) Would you use the water primer after moisturiser and sunblock but before foundation? Is it worth it, does it make a big difference?

    • Luzanne 18 May 2015 / 10:13

Yes – after your sunscreen & daily moisturiser but before foundation. I’ve been using it for about 2 weeks now & I must be honest, I haven’t noticed a major difference. I’ll be going a blog post on it soon, so keep your eyes peeled. :)

  14. HelenD 4 May 2015 / 22:27

    Hi Luzanne!

Great post as always, thank you!:) I’m so excited to get hold of the Benefit Coralista blush and Hoola bronzer!

Unrelated question, do you have any info about Indeed Labs at Clicks? I have been searching for Hydraluron but it seems they not stocking it anymore? Any inside info would be much appreciated.

    Thanks :)

    • Luzanne 18 May 2015 / 10:15

I’m so happy Benefit is coming back too! I also want to try their new Rollerlash mascara – it looks amazing!

They discontinued the whole Indeed Labs range at Clicks – I think it wasn’t doing that well here in South Africa. Such a pity, because I LOVED the Hydraluron. :(

  15. Carmen 5 May 2015 / 08:28

I wish I could have everything on this blog post *sigh*. However the Ultra black liner, Nail polishes and those lipsticks are a must have. They are beautiful!!!!!! and Im so into lipsticks thanks to you.
I got 4 pairs of those woolies slippers – Im sorry I couldnt resist they were just hanging there crying to go home with me.
    Cant wait for Benefit Cosmetics.

  16. Simone Cameron 5 May 2015 / 10:47

Luzanne I will need to unsubscribe from your blog until maybe after the baby is born….lol. When I’m buying more beauty products and I need nappies and a pram….my husband is like: what happened to you??? lmao. #ThePinkPeoniesEffect

I would love to try the tangle teezer blow brush. Would have liked to try the Smashbox water primer spray, but after reading that it isn’t that great, will stick to my cheap make up setting spray from woolies. he he

The Bourjois mascara…. I just LOVE mascara…just hate that you literally cannot have 6 open at the same time or you have to throw away in 3-6 months?? So I try to only ever have 2 or 3….okay 4… at the same time. lol

Love these posts :) Hope you are well!

    • Simone Cameron 5 May 2015 / 10:48

And the Morgan Taylor nail polish….there are at least 2 colours I’m eyeing there!! EEEK!

    • Carmen 6 May 2015 / 13:07

Hahahahahaha I think I too suffer for #ThePinkPeoniesEffect. Love it!!!!!!

      • Simone Cameron 7 May 2015 / 15:56

Lol Carmen…. It’s like I walk past an Essence or LA Girl stand and I think…hmmm what did Luzanne feature this week on her blog? #GottaHaveIt

        • Carmen 8 May 2015 / 10:18

Me too, and the ladies at the dischem close to me know me already Lol

    • Luzanne 18 May 2015 / 10:17

Bwahahah! I enjoyed reading this comment so, so much! Thank you for putting a smile on my face, Simone. 😉

The Smashbox Water Primer isn’t amazing at all, I’ll do a review on it soon. :( So disappointed because it was expeeeensiiiive. Meh…

      • Luzanne 18 May 2015 / 10:17

Oh! And I love that you girls were having a conversation here in the comments section! So much fun to read! 😉

  17. Lalannie 6 May 2015 / 17:19

    Love these posts! Thank you.
Keen to try out the Honey Bronze range.
What is your opinion on the Photo Finish Primer Water compared to Mac’s?

    • Luzanne 18 May 2015 / 10:19

It unfortunately doesn’t come close to MAC Fix+. I actually feel like it was a total waste of R 400,00! Quite miff about it, actually… I’ll do a review on it soon, but for the time being: DON’T get it.
