Products Popping Up – June 2016

New Launches June

Hello, everyone!  I must apologise if this blog post is a bit bland, I’m actually supposed to be in bed right now (while I’m writing this post).  Neal and I are sick with sore throats, runny noses and tired bodies…and while he’s snuggled up in bed, I wanted to get this blog post up for you today.  I’m sure you’ve noticed things have been a bit quiet around these parts for the last few days – mainly because I haven’t been well since Saturday.  I’m going through a bit of a rough time at the moment (not just physically) and so I’ve been trying to take things easier lately – and not focus on social media or blogging.

Anyway, let’s get to the fun and exciting stuff…shall we?  There are LOTS of makeup products launching this month, and I must admit, I’m particularly excited about the matte lipsticks, brow pomade, Morgan Taylor Winter nail polish collection, and the newly repackaged Revlon foundation.

As always, go get yourself a cup of hot tea / coffee / chocolate (and while you’re in the kitchen, grab a biscuit or two) and let’s take a look at all the new products that are launching during the month of June:

Benefit Dew The Hoola Zero Tanlines

Benefit Hoola Range (starting at R395,00) – If you’re a Hoola fan, then you’ll be very happy to hear that Benefit released 3 new bronzing products in the Hoola collection this month.

Hoola Zero Tanlines Body Bronzer (R475,00) – It’s your TANtasy come true! This smooth, non-sticky body bronzer glides on HANDS FREE and blends instantly & seamlessly for a thoroughly believable bronze.  Beachin’ bonus…the 12-hour Hoola Zero Tanlines formula stays on even when your clothes come off.  Get sunkissed in seconds. Untwist cap and pull out sponge applicator from cap.  Squeeze gel body bronzer onto sponge.  Apply to arms and legs in broad circular strokes for an instant goddess glow.

Dew The Hoola (R445,00) – This liquid bronzer gives your face a year-round glow without the gleam. The smoothing effects and lightweight texture melt in for a shimmerless, natural look that’s so sheer, it’ll have you saying hoola-la!  Smooth dew the hoola on bare skin or over foundation for a seamless, natural looking bronze!  Create the illusion of a more slender face by applying Dew The Hoola under your cheekbones and along your jaw & hairline.

Hoola Bronzing & Contouring Brush (R395,00) – Brush on a seamless bronze or create sexy contours with this Hoola Bronzing & Contouring Brush.  The ultra-plush bristles seamlessly sweep on your favorite powder bronzer or blush. PLUS the special dome shape easily sculpts & contours your face.

Expect a review on all 3 products soon – I’ve already used the liquid bronzer and the makeup brush, but I’m yet to take the body bronzer for a test drive.

Available at Sorbet salons nationwide.

BABOR Active Night Fluid Ampoules

BABOR Ampoule Concentrates FP Active Night Fluid (R752,00) – There is a reason why we have been told since we were little girls that enough sleep is the secret to looking beautiful, but what if there was more to it than that?  At BABOR there certainly is – BABOR Active Night Fluid.  Sleep may be the ultimate anti-aging ingredient but BABOR Active Night Fluid is here to not only support, but boost the skin’s regenerative process as you close your eyes for your daily dose of natural beauty.  With effective, active ingredients as black as the night, an extract of black algae regenerates the dermis, the layer of the skin that has a particularly high content of collagen fibers.  It ensures that we look fresh and wrinkle free.  Black truffle extract additionally strengthens natural collagen production and remodels facial contours, while black willow extract increases cell regeneration and thus skin renewal.  Each set contains 7 x 2ml ampoules.

Available in the BABOR South Africa online store, or at selected beauty salons nationwide.

Hills Feed Me Right Meow

Hills Feed Me Right Meow (FREE) – Most cat owners have accepted that their feline friend is ‘the boss’ and there are few who can ignore the demanding meows and determined ankle rubs of their pet when it decides it’s mealtime.  To cater for the discerning tabby, Hill’s have designed a special whisker-friendly ceramic #FeedMeHillsMeow bowl.  Mr Hillsworth, their resident feline expert ‘of extraordinary wit and wisdom’, has given his unconditional approval to the usefulness and general ‘catworthiness’ of this practical bowl.

That’s it from me!  I’m going to jump back in bed now, hopefully I’ll start feeling better soon.  Have a wonderful Wednesday, friends!

Okay the thing that had me the MOST excited…is the new Lungo Nespresso flavour! I am obsessed with the Arpeggio and this one claims to be more intense, then I really cannot wait. Just email my coffee supplier now about when they’ll have stock. lol. They’ll be like…how does she even know…Um hello, Luzanne knows EVERYTHING!

I’m Loving L’oreal mascara at the moment. I’m crazy about the designer collection…..fake lashes or dramatic black…something like that, so keen to try this when it comes out.

New Morgan Taylor nail polish….mini sets, I’m always going to be all over that. Just a pity that grey taupey colour won;’t be in the mini set.

I hope you and hubby feel better soon!! Thanks for an awesome post as always :)

Toying with the idea of starting a blog….for fun, but binge reading your tips first before I decide.

    • Luzanne 9 June 2016 / 16:13

Nespresso sent me 2 sleeves about a week ago, and Neal & I have already finished one whole sleeve. Eeeek! Just shows you how much we are loving the Envivo Lungo. :)

I haven’t used a L’Oreal mascara in a while, but I’m really looking forward to this one because of the whole tightlining thing. I’m sure you already know I love to tightline, it just makes your lashes look so much fuller. I think my ultimate favourite L’Oreal mascara is the Volume Million Lashes – it’s SOOOO GOOOOD!

I’m very keen on the bright pink, and dark raspberry shades in the Morgan Taylor collection.

Meh, Neal went back to work today but I’m still not feeling 100%. I’ve been working but it feels like everything takes so much longer to do, and I’m actually just not lus for anything… I’m holding thumbs and toes I’ll be better on Monday, because I have a very busy week next week.

You should definitely start a blog, I’m sure you’ll love it! :)

  2. Bianca Balutto 8 June 2016 / 15:21

  5. Zaakirah Akoo 8 June 2016 / 15:49

I spy myself some liquid lipsticks
    Can’t wait to try them
Fasting so no tea and biscuits with this post but I enjoyed it just as much. Like online shopping, it made it easier to ‘window shop’ without needing to put on clothes and get out of bed. Thanks Luzanne. Hope you get some deserved R&R and get well soon.
    Hugs and best wishes

    • Luzanne 9 June 2016 / 16:56

I can’t wait to get my hands on some of those liquid lippies!!! I’ve been waiting for them to come to SA ever since I saw them on YouTube in January!

      Ramadaan Kareem, Zaakirah. :)

Thank you for sending good vibes my way, I’m still not feeling 100% but I’m getting there. :)

  6. Alexandra 8 June 2016 / 16:28

Definitely would love to try out the Benefit Hoola Range! I already use their Hoola Matte Bronzer on a pretty much every day basis and I LOVE IT. I can’t wait to see your review on the range as I’d love to know how Dew the Hoola fares compared to Hoola Bronzer :)

Loved the post & can’t wait to see who won the giveaway tomorrow. I hope you feel better soon <3

    • Luzanne 9 June 2016 / 16:58

I also own the Hoola bronzer and it used to be the ONLY bronzer I used for the longest time. I depotted it about a year ago, and ever since I put it in a Z Palette, I keep forgetting to use it. It really is an amazing bronzer, because you can also use it as a contour (because it’s not too warm-toned). I’ll definitely compare the 2 Hoolas in my review blog post – great idea! 😀

  7. Marné 8 June 2016 / 17:06

Always looking forward to my monthly treat of window shopping from you, like Zaakirah also said :)

I’m most looking forward to the new Loreal Mascara, none of their mascaras have ever let me down, not even the “cheapest” ones. I’ve used them all and will welcome a new one to the family with a huge smile 😀 😀

Hope you feel better very very soon, stay in bed and let your body rest it out, even when your mind tells you that you’re better already xx

    • Luzanne 9 June 2016 / 17:02

Yay! Thank you so much for popping by the blog, Marné (no pun intended). 😉

I agree – L’Oreal definitely makes some of the best mascaras, 2 of my faves = Telescopic and Volume Million Lashes. Very interested to see if the want does a good job of tightlining, will keep you posted!

Thank you for sending healthy vibes my way, still not feeling all that well…but I have to get better real soon because I’m starting with a new campaign next week (and will be travelling for that). Let’s hold thumbs I’m better by Monday!

  8. Vannesa Kniffen 8 June 2016 / 18:25

Aaaah no, sorry about that! It’s the thought that counts though… 😉

    • Luzanne 9 June 2016 / 17:15

I agree, can’t wait to take the Pomade Crayon for a spin once it’s in-store. It’s such a chubby pencil, I wonder if it’ll work well on someone who has my brows (or lack of them).

Thanks, Reonette – still not feeling poorly, but I’m holding thumbs I’ll start feeling better soon. 😉

  12. Una 8 June 2016 / 20:21

Hhhhmmm, I’ll have to go give the Vivid Mattes a sniff when I’m in-store – I usually don’t like a lip product that has a very noticeable scent.

I agree!!! I was invited to the Benefit Cosmetics brow products media launch and I’m counting down the days! 😉

  17. Aisha 8 June 2016 / 23:08

Oooooohh so many goodies I see I’m super stoked about the Maybeline Vivid Matte lippies, the Brow Pomade, the brow artist by Loreal & their new mascara. I LOVED the old Loreal Wing Lash Mascara, it literally made my lashes look SO long and full I’ve tried so many mascaras, from Mac, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, to Maybeline, Revlon, Essence etc and nothing makes my lashes look as good as the wing lash. defs a HG for me, so I’m definitely looking forward to this new addition. I’m also loving the blue on the packaging.

    Hope you feel better soon!

    • Luzanne 9 June 2016 / 17:23

I also liked the False Lash Wings Mascara, it did a great job of defining and lengthening my lashes. :)

Thank you so much for the well wishes, Aisha. xo

    • Luzanne 9 June 2016 / 17:25

I 100% agree with you, I prefer a foundation that has a pump waaaaay more than other ones. It’s just so much more user-friendly, mess-free, and hygienic!

I am so excited about the Maybelline Matte Liquid Lipsticks. I can feel my pocket already. All the colours just look so so beautiful and Clicks now delivers so I don’t even have to worry about getting out in the cold Rainy eastern cape weather. YEY <3 <3

    Thank you for sharing Luzzane

I honestly live for these posts. Every month I get my coffee and some snacks as you suggest but I also get my notebook so start writing down all the new products I would like to try for the new month. I have been waiting for the Loreal sculpt mascara for so long now. I am so excited it is finally here in SA. Thanks for another amazing post,

Ooh I think I need to get me a notebook too. I always end up at Dischem and then can’t seem to remember what it was I read about…obviously the excitement is too much for me.

Hope you’re feeling better now Luzanne. I love your blog.

Have you tried any of these products yet? These all sound like press releases. I love the sound of them, but they sound PRey.

Hi Bev – that’s exactly what my ‘Products Popping Up’ series is, it’s all press release info on products that will still be launching during the coming month. I unfortunately can’t review the products that haven’t arrived in-store yet, as a lot of the time I’m also waiting for the products to launch (just like my readers). :)

Hi there. I have not yet seen the Loreal products in stores. Any idea if this is still happening and what the actual release are?

    • Luzanne 19 June 2016 / 16:43

Hi there – the products should still be launching in June. Brands usually can’t give me a definitive release date i.e. the 23rd of June, because it takes a couple of weeks for the products to roll out to all stores in South Africa. For example, in the past I’ve seen people who live in Cape Town post on social media about a new product at Clicks, but then it will only arrive in Gauteng about a week later. I’ve mentioned in some of my other ‘Products Popping Up’ blog posts that I rely heavily on the information each brand sends me, sometimes a brand will assure me a product will launch during a specific month but then it only arrives in-store the next month due to stock or customs issues. Let’s hope the products will launch this month still. :)
