Products Popping Up – June 2015

New Products Launching June

Hello, June!  Yes…I’m sounding like a broken record, but wow, May flew by rather quickly!  June is usually one of my favourite months as the weather starts to get a bit chillier.  That means I can bust out the ol’ winter sheets, heaters, electric blanket and my favourite soup mugs.

Today I’m here with new product releases for the month of June 2015.  I am absolutely dying to get my hands on a few of these goodies, especially the Smashbox Contour Trio, MAC Pro Longwear Foundation, Maybelline brow products (they look so interesting!), Max Factor Shimmer Shadows, GOSH Coconut Oil goodies (you know I’m a sucker for anything remotely coconut) and a few extra NYX Butter lippies.

Let’s take a look:

Maybelline The Colossal Go Extreme Leather Black Mascara ♥ R 134,95 – Maybelline’s first mascara with a superloading wand adds an extra shot of volume onto our biggest brush.  Intense black pigments for bold, leather black intensity!

Max Factor Excess Shimmer Shadows

Max Factor Excess Shimmer Shadows ♥ R 129,95 each – Available in 6 gorgeous shades, these super-blendable shimmery shadows are designed for women who want to achieve on-trend metallic eye looks, but have difficulty creating them using traditional pressed powder eye shadows which fail to build up colour.  The new Excess Shimmer Eye Shadows makes it ultra-easy, thanks to their smart 3D silicone gel formula which holds its high-impact metallic colour pigments in place for up to 12 hours, for intense luminosity and a smooth colour finish.  These beauties will be available at Clicks stores nationwide.

Ladies, I had the pleasure of swatching these gel / cream eyeshadows a few weeks ago at the CDF press launch.  The bronze shade is incredible (even more beautiful than my beloved Maybelline Bad To The Bronze 24H Color Tattoo) – trust me when I say: “You need it in your life ASAP!”  It might get a bit ugly, though, if we happen to be at the same Clicks, at the same time & there’s only one of these pots left.

Bioderma Atoderm Intensive

Bioderma Atoderm Intensive ♥ R 209,95 – A 2-in-1 soothing and dermo-strengthening treatment to restore healthy, comfortable skin.  Suitable for very dry and irritated, itchy skin.  Soothes itching and irritation, rebuilds a biologically healthy skin barrier, restores skin comfort and postpones the occurrence of new flare-ups.  Atoderm Intensive quickly stops the itching sensation and reduces the urge to scratch with its antipruritic dermatological active PEA.  Enriched with soothing and purifying agents, it calms irritation immediately.  Available at Clicks & Dis-Chem stores.

Bioderma Cicabio SPF50

Bioderma Cicabio SPF50+ ♥ R 149,95 – Helps repair damaged skin exposed to the sun by acting on every stage of the biological epidermal reconstruction process and limiting the risk of post-scarring hyperpigmentation (brown spot).  The synergistic combination of resveratrol, copper and centella asiatica facilitates quality epidermal restoration.  Very high SPF50+ protection limits the risk of hyperpigmentation.  Anti-bacterial agents (copper-zinc) cleanse the epidermis, Antalgicine rapidly relieves the sensation of discomfort and reduces the urge to scratch.  Its moisturising and protective texture, based on hyaluronic acid, is non-greasy and non-sticky for genuine skin comfort.  This product will be exclusive to Dis-Chem stores.

GOSH Primer Plus + Hydration ♥ R 210,00 – The first step to porcelain perfect skin!  Applying like a velvety soft moisturiser, the primer soaks in quickly and gets to work to minimise the appearance of fine lines and pores.

GOSH Coconut Oil Cream Mask ♥ R 89,00 – A luxurious hair mask rich in natural coconut oil, keratin protein, Pro-Vitamin B5, and shea butter.  Coconut oil cream mask adds softness and moisture to dried, fragile and damaged hair. The conditioned effect is noticeable – from the root to tip.

GOSH Coconut Moisturising Hair Oil ♥ R 79,00 – A light and non-greasy oil enriched with high levels of natural coconut oil and abyssinian oil, a very easily absorbed ingredient, leaving even the driest hair noticeably smooth.  A couple of drops tames frizzy and unmanageable locks, repairing and softening dry hair and split ends.

GOSH Giant Blush in Shy ♥ R 135,00 – A blusher stick which gives a soft touch of colour to cheeks and cheekbones and a natural, fresh look.  The Giant Blush is a cream to powder blusher stick and the soft and silky texture is easy to apply and blend.  Also available in shades ‘Passion’ and ‘Pink Parfait’.

GOSH No Limit Lash Mascara ♥ R 130,00 – Add extra dimension and drama to your lashes with No Limit Lash Mascara. High on performance, the innovative new formula combined with the soft and supple vortex brush with reservoir bristles ensures immediate volume and dramatic lengthening without flaking or smudging.  The result is luscious, long lashes and an open-eye effect.

GOSH products are available at Edgars and Red Square stores nationwide.

Smashbox Contour Stick Set

Smashbox Step-By-Step Contour Stick Trio ♥ R 520,00 – An exclusive set of 3 ultra-blendable, creamy sticks that glide effortlessly onto skin for targeted, precise application and a totally even finish.  Now Smashbox has made it easy to put your best face forward with three shades that mimic perfect lighting: ‘Contour’ sculpts by creating shadows, ‘Highlight’ mimics light reflection to pull features forward, and ‘Bronze’ provides a smooth transition that eliminates the look of harsh lines.  The result is flawlessly shaped features from defined-looking cheekbones to a seemingly perfected nose to the appearance of a sculpted jawline.  The kit also includes a how-to insert with simple instructions for achieving the best look for your face shape.  Smashbox products are available at selected Woolworths, Red Square and Foschini stores.

I have been waiting for this trio to arrive in South Africa for a good couple of months now.  I even mentioned the kit in my ‘Birthday Wish List’ blog post.  Do yourself a favour, take a look at this video where Tati (GlamLifeGuru) showcases these 3 pencils – I fell head over heels in love with the Contour Stick Trio after watching the tutorial.

NYX Blush Taupe Clicks

NYX Powder Blush in Taupe ♥ R 104,95 – This pressed powder blush delivers sheer, silky colour that glides on, blends beautifully and creates a natural glow. The formula is richly-pigmented and lasts for hours.  Taupe is one of NYX Cosmetics’ top selling and award winning colours, the perfect contouring shade to enhance your features.  Take a look at my ‘How To Contour & Highlight For Beginners’ blog post here.

NYX Butter Lipsticks

NYX Butter Lipstick ♥ R 138,95 each – Pamper your lips with a hydrating kiss of NYX’s smooth Butter Lipstick in 9 luxurious shades.  The delicate texture of satin fused with the high colour saturation creates an even finish on lips that’s long-wearing and beautiful.  Available at selected Clicks stores.

NYX Butter Glosses

NYX Butter Gloss ♥ R 124,95 each – Buttery soft and silky smooth, our scrumptious new Butter Gloss tastes as sweet as a sugar cookie, and makes your lips look downright luscious.  Swipe it on alone or over your favourite lipstick for creamy sheer to medium coverage that melts onto your lips and is never sticky.  Available in 13 shades at selected Clicks stores.  I couldn’t find any decent stock images of  the NYX Butter Gloss lipglosses online, so I took a photo of my little collection.

If I’m 100% honest, I’m not crazy about the fact that NYX products are double the price here in South Africa.  These Butter Glosses retail for $5 in the US (R 60,00) and that’s where I bought my rather extensive collection of these glosses.  You can expect a full review with swatches of all the shades I own soon, so that you can decide which shades you want to spend your money on.

NIP FAB Bee Sting Deluxe Body Souffle

NIP + FAB Bee Sting Deluxe Body Souffle ♥ Free Gift – A super-rich intensively moisturising body cream that contains bee venom.  When gently massaged into the body in circular movements, the skin will look visibly more plump, become more firm and will help to create an overall more youthful looking skin.  With the purchase of any of the other NIP + FAB Bee Sting products at Clicks stores, you will receive the NIP+FAB Bee Sting Deluxe Body Souffle free of charge.   This is perfect for the cold Winter months ahead, as it will nourish dry, thirsty, needy skin.

Bobbi Brown Red Square

For the first time in South Africa, Bobbi Brown is now available to purchase online.  With Bobbi Brown products now available in the Red Square online store, finding your favourite product is quicker and easier than ever before.  You can shop the new collections before they sell out in stores, browse new lipstick shades, and replenish your makeup must-haves from the comfort of your own home.  Plus, as a special introductory offer – the first 100 customers will receive a FREE Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara with the purchase of any Bobbi Brown product online.

REN Vita Mineral Lip Balm

REN Vita Mineral Lip Balm ♥ R 150,00 – A deeply replenishing lip balm that repairs, soothes and protects dry or chapped lips.  Propolis from acacia honey and calendula helps soothe irritation, Vitamin E reduces UV induced damage, shea and cocoa butters replenish and repair lips.  Available at selected Woolworths & Foschini stores, as well as the REN South Africa online store.

Creightons Frizz No More

Creightons Frizz No More ♥ R 49,95 to R 69,95 – The answer to frizz free, perfectly manageable hair has arrived…. Frizz No More! Make unruly, fly away hair a thing of the past!  The formulations help defend the hair from troublesome humidity, keeping hair smooth and sleek no matter what the weather.  Creightons products are available at Pick n Pay stores nationwide.

Which of these new launches are you most excited about?

P.S.  I have another ‘Blogging Tips’ blog post coming up tomorrow, so be sure to check in on the blog.

    • Luzanne 3 June 2015 / 17:56

Yep, there’s no talk of bringing it to SA anytime soon though… Sorry, Janneke. :(

  1. Anika Huemer 3 June 2015 / 15:23

The Creightons Frizz No More will perfect for winter flyaways! Can not wait! :)

    • Luzanne 3 June 2015 / 17:57

You’re so right, Anika! My hair tends to dry out & become more frizzy & unmanageable during the chilly months…

  2. Tarryn B 3 June 2015 / 15:28

The Max Factor Excess Shimmers are already out 😀 Well, at least at the Gardens Centre Clicks in Cape Town. I picked up a pink/ice colour and a copper/bronze shade and they’re amazing BUT tend to crease on me :'(

I am soooooo looking forward to most of these releases, but I think the Ren lipbalm in particular because I struggle with very dry/chapped lips, and everything from Nuxe Reve de Miel to freaking Blistex does not work for me.

June’s gonna be amazing, and bank-breaking!!

    • Luzanne 3 June 2015 / 18:01

You’re so lucky! I went to 2 Clicks stores in my area on Monday & didn’t see the Max Factor cream shadows anywhere – boo! I’ll go take a look again towards the end of this week – Bronze and Copper will be mine! I’m holding thumbs they don’t crease on me – if they do, though, I’ll just use them as a base for powder eyeshadows. :)

The REN lipbalm does sound good, hey? I’ve gone a bit off my Nuxe Reve De Miel, it’s a bit too thick for me these days. Funny how something can be a top favourite one year, and then become a ‘meh’ product the next.

      • Melissa 3 June 2015 / 19:06

        Hi Luzanne

Go and have a look at Forest Hill’s Clicks. I was there on Saturday. The whole collection was there and the tester seals were not even open yet. They are very soft and creamy, but definitely not as long-wearing as MAC paint pots.

  3. Tammy 3 June 2015 / 15:28

I immediately felt my card get hot from all the swiping I’m about to do! Great list of products, excited about them ALL!

    • Luzanne 3 June 2015 / 18:02

Hahaha!! So true, my bank account is going to be in so much pain at the end of this month… 😉

    • Luzanne 3 June 2015 / 18:02

      Looks cool, doesn’t it? 😉

  4. Nadia 3 June 2015 / 16:45

O.M.GEEE. So many goodies I want to try! Can feel my bank cards shrinking in fear already 😀

  5. Fatima Bibi 3 June 2015 / 16:58

So so glad Maybelline Baby Skin made its way to us finally!
I managed to get 1 in a US haul and I use it almost every day. Dreaded the time it gets finished but now I don’t have to worry anymore!
And the price is really reasonably low.
The brow products look great too

Also excited for the Mac Pro longwear foundation. Sounds amazing. Aaaand I’d love to try the Crwighton no more fizz on my curly hair.

    • Luzanne 3 June 2015 / 18:04

I agree, we’ve been waiting for Baby Skin primer for a loooooong time! 😉 I thought exactly the same thing when I saw the price of it, I actually expected it to be a bit more expensive (almost R 150,00).

Thank you for taking the time to read the blog post & leave a comment, Fatima. :)

  6. Jaclyn Hill 3 June 2015 / 17:08

Any news when the benefit cosmetics will be launching?

    • Luzanne 3 June 2015 / 18:06

I found out about the Benefit launch dates earlier this week but decided to keep the info until my next ‘Products Popping Up’ blog post in July. Here are the initial stores they’ll be launching in to: Edgars Sandton (11 July), Edgars Clearwater (13 July), Red Square Cresta (15 July), Red Square Canal Walk (17 July) and Edgars Canal Walk (18 July). I’m sure they’ll be rolling out to additional stores very soon, but for now, that’s all we’re getting.

      • Jaclyn Hill 3 June 2015 / 21:11

Ooh Yay! I’m excited. I will have to keep my eyes peeled :0) Love your blog!

        • Luzanne 4 June 2015 / 11:53

          Thanks so much, Jaclyn! 😀

  7. Qondiswa N 3 June 2015 / 17:17

Wowowow! I want errrthiiiing!!! There is nothing in this blog post that I don’t want to buy right now this second, Luzanne. 😀

    • Luzanne 3 June 2015 / 18:06

Haha! You and me both, Qondiswa…you and me both! 😉

  8. Nicole Bekkers 3 June 2015 / 19:37

*scratches itching, dry and flaking skin* while reading. Naturally Im so keen to try the bioderma. Ive been really impressed with the micellar water and the Avene hydrating, fragrance free cleanser. The french pharmacy brands seem to work well on my skin which is drier than the desert right now. Super stoked about the Loreal studio line! I bought the hot and straight (old version) years ago and loved it, but then clicks stopped selling it! Will definitely be buying that line again AND the GOSH hair mask! I literally get high on coconut!

    • Luzanne 4 June 2015 / 11:50

In that case, you definitely need to get your hands on the Bioderma cream! Bioderma was THE ONLY brand of skin care I could use while I was on Roaccutane a few years ago. My skin was SO dry and sensitive, Bioderma really saved me.

  9. Jess 3 June 2015 / 20:59

I am so happy to see Maybelline Pore Eraser on that list as I have been waiting for it to come to SA for years and years! I am also particularly excited about the NYX butter glosses and Max Factor shimmer gel eyeshadows. Haven’t seen them in the stores yet, but will keep looking. Especially now that you’ve said the bronze shade is prettier than Bad To The Bronze.

    Ciao! J xo

    • Luzanne 4 June 2015 / 11:50

Gosh, that bronze shade is just gorgeous! So pigmented and creamy! :) x

  10. Shaeyn Janisch 4 June 2015 / 06:44

I want to try the brow satin! I have heard that its good… :)

    • Luzanne 4 June 2015 / 11:51

Me too! I’m all about brow products at the moment, so will definitely be checking out both the brow items. :)

  11. Carolyn 4 June 2015 / 08:02

Oooo…..lots of great new beauty goodies popping up! So glad the NYX Butter Glosses are now available in Clicks. Want to get a few more.

    • Luzanne 4 June 2015 / 11:52

Me too, I think the Butter Glosses are going to sell like hot cakes! 😉

  12. Carolyn 4 June 2015 / 08:03

Oooo…..lots of great new beauty goodies popping up! So glad the NYX Butter Glosses are now available in Clicks. Want to get some more.

  13. Anina 4 June 2015 / 09:04

I want to try anything and everything to do with pore minimizing, so very excited about both the Maybelline one as well as Benefit’s Porefessional….CAN NOT WAIT.

Also, your NYX butter gloss collection is amazeballs, I have the Angel Food Cake one and its been on my lips everyday since I purchased it!

    • Luzanne 4 June 2015 / 11:53

The Smashbox Pore Minimizing primer is my absolutely favourite, but the Maybelline one is a close second! 😉

The Butter Glosses are probably my ultimate favourite lip products of ALL TIME! xo

  14. Lulu 4 June 2015 / 11:35

Great photos and post as always! All the products sounds lovely!

  15. Shazia 4 June 2015 / 11:56

Finally!!! The Smashbox contour sticks!! Any idea when exactly it would launch coz I checked at red square pavilion this past weekend and they had no idea about what I was even talking about

    • Luzanne 4 June 2015 / 20:58

The Foschini at Menlyn already have the Smashbox Contour Pencils in stock, so I’m guessing they’re busy rolling out to all the stores. Your Red Square should have it soon. :)

  16. ateeyah 4 June 2015 / 12:44

loving all these products !!! thanks :)

    • Luzanne 4 June 2015 / 20:58

      You’re welcome, Ateeyah! :)

  17. Sunayana 4 June 2015 / 19:54

So excited to try out the maybelline brow products especially the brown satin eyebrow pencil! Have you had any luck getting your hands on them yet at clicks?

    • Luzanne 4 June 2015 / 21:00

Not yet, but I haven’t been to a Clicks store in about a week… I’ll go to another Clicks store this weekend (a bigger one) to see whether they have it there yet. It’s still early in the month, though, so might only launch in another week or so. 😉

  18. Carmen 9 June 2015 / 20:42

Hey, just realised how much i missed your blog. I really want the baby skin instant pore minimizer nd to try more nxy glosses as well as the butter lippies.
