Products Popping Up – July 2016

New Products Launching July

Hello, friends!  First, let me apologise for loading this month’s ‘Products Popping Up’ blog post so late in the month.  Things have been absolutely crazy for me these past few weeks (I haven’t even had time to run any personal errands), so I neglected the blog just a teeny tiny bit.  I uploaded the blog posts that I thought you’d want to see first i.e. Urban Decay Online Store Launch, the New Benefit Brow Products, 2 Giveaways (here and here), and a Warning.  Things have calmed down a little bit, so I’ll be getting back to my regular blogging schedule soon.  I actually contemplated NOT writing this blog post, because I wasn’t sure if you would want to see a ‘new launches’ post so late in the month…so I posted a poll on Twitter, asking you what I should do.  Here are the results:

Twitter Poll

To the people who voted ‘Have A Snack’: You have my heart.  I’m always up for a snack.

I had a look through all the new launches for the month of July, and couldn’t NOT tell you about them…so, here they are!  It’s long post (but fortunately very exciting), so grab a snack (I’m living for these breadsticks and these sweeties from Woolworths – soooo good), your favourite beverage (I’m loving this iced tea at the moment), and a heater or blanket – you’re going to be here for a while.

Oh!  And before I forget – someone commented on my previous ‘Products Popping Up’ blog post and asked whether I had tested any of the products mentioned in these blog posts as it sounds like press releases and very ‘PR-ey’.  Totally valid question, I often forget that I gain new readers every day and that they might not understand what my ‘Products Popping Up’ series is about.  I replied to her comment, but thought I’d mention it in this blog post, in case you’re a newcomer too.  My ‘Products Popping Up’ series is a monthly series here on the blog, basically it’s where I introduce my readers to all the new products that are launching during a specific month.  Fortunately I have relationships with a lot of brands and PR companies, so I always have the inside scoop on which products will be popping up on our shelves each month.  These are not product reviews – the product descriptions / stockists / pricing come from press releases that have been sent to me by the brands themselves.

If you see a product featured in my ‘Products Popping Up’ blog posts, and would like to see a proper review, then you are always welcome to leave a comment in the comments section below.

Anyway, let’s take a look at all the products you can look forward to seeing pop up in-store this month!

Stella POP Eau de Parfum

Stella POP Eau de Parfum (starting at R815,00) – A celebration of individuality, authenticity and adventure.  It’s Stella’s philosophy that fragrance and cosmetics should enhance each woman’s unique, inner beauty, not distract or overpower it.  POP is bright, modern and irreverent.  A unique scent, it combines the vibrant floral of tuberose with sandalwood, echoing the multi-faceted of the new generation of Stella McCartney icons.

Did you know?  In the house’s continued efforts to find sustainable alternatives to traditional processes, bio-mimicry technology was used in the POP fragrance creation.  In comparison to the oil created from processed flowers, the bio-mimicry absolute obtained from focusing on the blooming stage of the flower offers a more luminous scent quality, giving POP an unmistakable vibrancy and brightness.  Tuberose buds, despite their strong fragrant properties, have a very low oil yield – it takes 3,600 flowers for each gram of absolute oil.  Sandalwood, which takes 25 years to reach harvest, has been such in high demand for its oil that it’s now an endangered species.  Bio-mimicry technology therefore prevents the use of resource-intensive processes to extract oil from tuberose flowers, and saves one sandalwood tree for every 2,500 bottles of fragrance produced.

Same here!!! Am forever hinting for an ashy coloured contour – like the one in the smashbox palette!

      • Nausheen 19 July 2016 / 09:48

Oh and a review on the bodyshops cc creams would be great too!

      • Leighann 19 July 2016 / 13:23

        Hi Nausheen,

Currently Woolies has a special on the Smashbox contour Palette.

Its R860 for the contour palette,a Smashbox photofinish Primer and a Highlighter stick.

        Great value!!

        • Luzanne 20 July 2016 / 17:05

          Wowie! That’s a great deal, Leighann! 😀

      • Luzanne 20 July 2016 / 17:04

The Smashbox Contour Palette is amazing! Well, I have the Smashbox #ShapeMatters Palette, and that one contains their eyeshadows, contour, highlight powders, and brow powders – and I love the shades in that one. :)

    • Luzanne 20 July 2016 / 16:58

Done! Will get my hands on the Maybelline Master Contour V-stick for a review blog post. :)

      The review is up! 😉

  2. Kelly 19 July 2016 / 08:48

Wow, so many amazing products! I had been waiting for the All That Greys collection since you mentioned it a couple months back and just the other week I randomly stopped at the Essence stand at Clicks and saw the last grey Pearly Matt nail polish! Almost did a girly scream out loud! And when I popped into Dischem I found the maroon pearly Matt! Was so excited!

I can’t wait to read your reviews on the Body Shop Instaglow CC creams. That’s definitely something I’d wanna try. Do you perhaps know if they have samples of these products in-store?

I’d like to see a review on the Maybelline Curvy eyeliner please 😀 Always looking out for the easiest eyeliner to apply :)

    Thanks for the post Luzanne!

    • Luzanne 20 July 2016 / 17:07

Wow, you were very lucky to still get some of the All That Greys products at Clicks, my local Clicks stores are all sold out.

The review blog post is up, I hope you like it. :) They do have testers of the CC Creams in-store, but not samples that you can take home with you.

Cool, I’ll definitely feature the Curvy Eyeliner soon. 😀

  3. Nisa 19 July 2016 / 09:46

Thanks for posting this. I saw the Maybelline Master Contour V-shape Duo Stick on YouTube recently and I’d really like to grab it soon.

I picked up a few of the UD items recently but I was sad that they didn’t bring any limited edition collections to our shores.

I’ve been loving the Ka-Brow from Benefit it is so amazing but I find the Goof Proof Pencil to be an epic fail. Could you please review the products you have cos I’d really like to get more.

Thanks for still uploading. Love these posts xoxo

    • Luzanne 20 July 2016 / 17:10

You’re most welcome, Nisa. :) I am DYING to get my hands on that contour stick…hopefully it will be in-store soon.

They will be bringing future limited edition items to South Africa, but not any of the historic collections unfortunately.

Aaaah no, I haven’t used my Goof Proof pencil yet (only swatched it and played with it a bit at the Benefit launch). I’ve heard great things about the Ka-Brow pomade, so excited for that one (and the Precisely, My Brow pencil).

Have a fab week further! xo

    • Luzanne 20 July 2016 / 17:13

My local Dis-Chem just got their All That Greys stock in a few days ago, so they definitely still have in stock. I think maybe you checked at Clicks, as the All That Greys collection launched at Clicks about 2 months ago. :) I saw the Winter Wonderful collection on their website too, it’s looks stunning!

Haha! Don’t worry, a lot of the products went on to my Xmas list too. 😉

I’ve been waiting for the Benefit Brow collection to hit South African stores. All my favourite YouTube bloggers have been raving about the products. They seem to give that ‘natural brow’ look – over the highly sculptured look
