Products Popping Up – February 2016

New Products Launching February 2016

I know you’ve been waiting for this blog post for a while now – am I right?  Or am I right?  I skipped the January edition because, to be honest, there weren’t that many new product launches to feature (and my brain was still in holiday mode).  February, though, is a completely different story – there are SO MANY new launches this month.  As always, I suggest you pop in to the kitchen and make yourself a cup of tea or coffee before you dive into this blog post, because it’s a long one!  Better yet, grab a snack as well!

Don’t worry – I won’t be skipping any more ‘Products Popping Up’ blog posts, because I know how much you love them!  I love rounding them up for you, so without further ado…let’s take a look at all the amazing goodies that are launching during February 2016:

Smashbox Primer Oil Smashbox Indecent Exposure Mascara Smashbox Photo Finish Lash Primer Smashbox X-Rated Mascara

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil (R450,00) – 50% primer, 50% oil, and 100% skin-refining power for picture-perfect makeup every time.  The new Photo Finish Primer Oil from Smashbox is the first-ever primer specially formulated in a lightweight, luxurious oil to create radiant skin that glows.  Made from a blend of 15 essential, lipid-rich plant oils (i.e. jojoba, arabica, and argan), it penetrates instantly to moisturise deep into skin, creating a seamless canvas with a dewy, youthful finish.

Smashbox Photo Finish Lash Primer (R250,00) – Get your lashes ready for prime time or freshen mascara midday with this pre-conditioning formula.  The groundbreaking formula makes any mascara last longer, and conditions lashes to prevent flaking or smudging.  Volumise and lengthen lashes before you apply your mascara or touch up lashes throughout the day. The dual-sided Two-Timer Brush features molded bristles that enrobe each lash, and an ultra-thin comb to ensure each lash stands out in high definition.

Smashbox X-Rated Mascara (R280,00) – Think you can’t add more mascara?  Think again.  Add jaw-dropping volume with this big, buildable mascara. The formula features tripod fibers that twist and wrap around each lash, doubling the volume and never clumping, smudging, or flaking.  Amplify each lash with the unique Triple Threat Brush, made with 3 rows of bristles that isolate and coat individual lashes for clump-free definition.

Smashbox Indecent Exposure Mascara (R280,00) – With its spiral of wavy-cut bristles, the Zoom Out Brush adds excessive separation, giving you long, lavish, out-of-sight lashes with just the right amount of drama.  A micro spiral tip makes it easy to capture tiny inner lashes; too, while high-impact, curved wavelength fibers cling to lashes, stretching as you apply the formula.

I was fortunate enough to receive the mascaras and the Photo Finish Primer Oil – would anyone like to see a review on any of them?  Let me know in the comments section below.

Smashbox ShapeMatters Palette

Smashbox #SHAPEMATTERS Palette (R1200,00) – This three-in-one palette will allow you to emphasize eyes, brighten brows, and define features.  It features more contouring options than any other collection, the #SHAPEMATTERS Palette gives you fool-proof contouring tools and simple pro instructions to get camera-worthy results.  The kit includes: 1 x brow wax, 2 x brow powders in Taupe and Soft Brown, 1 x highlighter, 1 x illuminator, 1 x bronzer, 1 x contour powder, 9 x matte and shimmer eyeshadows, 1 x double-ended shadow / brow brush, #SHAPEMATTERS inserts with shaping steps for eyes, brows, and face, and interactive #SHAPEMATTERS cards with how-to contouring tips.

My heart wants the #SHAPEMATTERS palette so much, it really is an all-in-one kit.  I was at a Smashbox launch towards the end of last year and I had a sneak peek of the palette – it’s so beautiful!

Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder

Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder (R290,00) – Over-plucked brows?  We’ve all been there.  Piercings that have left sparse patches?  Don’t even worry about it.  The first-of-its-kind volumising powder that lets you build your dream brow.  This ultra-fine loose powder mimics the appearance of natural hairs, so it’s easy to avoid that dreaded stenciled-on look.  Plus, it’s proven to last all day, so your brows aren’t going anywhere until you say so. Made with a revolutionary long-wearing formula, this buildable powder clings to your brows, filling them in for instant volume. The precision applicator evenly dispenses the powder across sparse areas, mimicking real hair growth.  Available shades: Blonde, Taupe, Brunette, and Dark Brown.

All Smashbox products are available at Smashbox counters in selected Foschini, Woolworths, Red Square and Edgars stores, or in the Red Square online store.

Kiehls Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque

Kiehl’s Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque (R465,00) – This face mask defends and replenishes skin to reduce the visible effects of pollution while helping to prevent impurities from adhering to skin.  Kiehl’s Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque is a protective, treatment facial masque that features 3 levels of protection and treatment against the damaging effects of pollution on skin.  Orange extract is a strong antioxidant that offers the formula multiple pollution fighting benefits.  Vitamin E and cilantro seed oil nourish and strenthen the skin, and improves lipid production.  The formula also offers anti-adhesion properties to defend against environmental impurities by preventing pollution particles from adhering to skin.

Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque (R465,00) – The formula works as an ‘instant facial’ by brightening and energising the look of dull, fatigued skin to restore a healthy, rosy appearance.  Formulated with ingredients like cranberry and turmeric, this invigorating facial masque helps visibly improve the overall look of skin, while crushed cranberry seeds within the formula gently exfoliate for a smoother, brighter and illuminated complexion.

Kiehl’s very kindly sent over both of these face masks – anyone interested in a review?  Kiehl’s products are available at Kiehl’s counters in selected Edgars stores.  There is also a stand-alone Kiehl’s store in V&A Waterfront.

Essence Happy Girls Are Pretty

Essence Happy Girls Are Pretty Collection (starting at R34,95) – We all know that a smile beats the most gorgeous makeup, so the new Essence trend edition ‘Happy Girls Are Pretty’ is going to underline the natural beauty of all girls.  The colour scheme consists of delightful pastel shades complemented by brown nuances that are sure to flatter all beauties.  The ultra slim eye pencil with an extra thin tip creates fine, accurate eyeliner styles, while the contouring set accentuates the facial features and adds expression.  Nails shine in cool colours with 3 different effects.  Loving designs with a knit-look reminiscent of the cozy time of year decorate the blush as well as the nail file.

If there was ever a makeup collection that is so ME, then this is it!  The collection consists of an eyeshadow palette (R67,50), 2 x twist-up eyeliner pencils (R38,95), 2 x sheer lipbalms (R44,95), a stunning multi-colour blush (R57,95), a contouring set (R63,50), 6 x nail polishes (R34,95) and a 2-in-1 nail file (R34,95).  This limited edition collection will be available at Clicks stores.

Essence sent me the gorgeous blush (there’s a photo on my Instagram page here), the contour duo and the eyeshadow palette.  I think I’ll wait until the collection is in-store to buy additional collection items, then I’ll do a review for you on the blog.

Essence Valentine - Who Cares

Essence Valentine – Who Cares? Collection (starting at R34,95) – The new Essence trend edition is welcoming a different kind of Valentine’s Day this year.  Wild, rebellious and casual, they’re breaking old traditions and dedicating the day of love to best friends.  The collection consists of 2 x smokey eyeshadow sticks (R47,95), a black smokey cream kajal eyeliner (R38,95), 2 sets of false lashes (R57,95), 2 x liquid lipstick shades (R47,95), a translucent setting powder (R57,95), 4 x nail polishes (R34,95), a set of black self-adhesive false nails (R57,95), a face & body tattoo stamp (R38,95) and a fruity fragrance (R57,95).  This limited edition collection is available at Dis-Chem stores.

I bought the eyeshadow stick in the shade ‘Love Is In The Air – Don’t Breathe!’ and I really like it, it’s a beautiful metallic taupe shade that almost looks like a cool-toned rose gold when the light catches it.  I highly recommend you check it out at Dis-Chem.

Catrice Alluring Reds

Catrice Alluring Reds Collection (starting at R69,95) – Burgundy, merlot, cinnabar, crimson or ruby.  The colour red has many facets, and is a particularly eye-catching colour.  In this collection, 4 perfectly aligned products offer professional care and colour.  The collection consists of a tinted lipbalm (R69,95), 3 x liquid lipsticks (R69,95), 3 x matte lipsticks (R89,95) and 3 x sets of nail polishes (R89,95).  Catrice products and collections are exclusive to Dis-Chem stores.

I bought 1 liquid lipstick from the Alluring Reds collection in the shade ‘Brigitte Bordeaux’ and although it’s not a true liquid lipstick (it doesn’t dry matte, it’s a pigmented gloss), I still love it because it’s a very unique dusty mauve shade.

LOccitane Citrus Verbena

L’Occitane Citrus Verbena Collection (starting at R130,00) – An even fresher twist on their classic Verbena fragrance, this is a tangy fruity delight.  The Citrus Verbena fragrance also includes the essential oils of grapefruit and lemon from Italy, for a summer fragrance that is both fresh and fruity.  The collection consists of a beautiful Eau de Toilette (R780,00), a moisturising body milk (R390,00), a refreshing shower gel (R240,00) and a nourishing hand cream (R130,00).  L’Occitane products are available at L’Occitane boutiques (take a look at their list of boutiques here) or in the L’Occitane South Africa online store.

L’Occitane very kindly sent me the Citrus Verbena Eau de Toilette and the hand cream (take a look at this photo), and I am in love.  I think this collection has kick-started an obsession with fresh lemony scents, last year was all about rose fragrances for me but I think 2016 is going to be ‘Year Of The Zest’ for me.

Red Square Fragrance Sampler Box

Red Square Fragrance Sampler Box (R990,00) – Best Valentine’s Day gift EVER!!  Each fragrance toiletry bag (there 2 options: For Him & For Her) contain up to 11 different fragrance vials and a voucher.  Once they have tested all the sample size fragrances and have decided on a favourite, they’ll be able to redeem the voucher for a full size fragrance.  This is such a great idea to give someone the opportunity to test various fragrances over a period of time, and then allowing them to choose their own signature scent.  Take the guess-work out of choosing the perfect Valentine’s Day gift – I’m sure your guy / gal will love a gift like this (plus they’ll be able to reuse the toiletry / cosmetics bag time and time again).  These Fragrance Sampler Boxes are available at Red Square stores, or in the Red Square online store (click here).

Red Square sent me the ‘For Her’ box, and the ‘For Him’ box for Neal.  I always get so excited whenever a brand sends Neal something as well, because it makes him feel special.  Anyway, I got ahead of myself and gave him his Fragrance Sampler Box immediately.  I probably should have waited until Valentine’s Day.  Now I have to think of something else to get him…

Bourjois Air Mat Foundation

Bourjois Air Mat Foundation (R265,95) – This foundation has been developed to give skin a smooth, matte finish that lasts for up to 24 hours.  Its non-drying, lightweight formula lets skin breathe throughout the day and provides high coverage for a flawless finish.  Enriched with mattifying micronised powders, it elimates shine with no mask effect for an undetectable result.   Available in 6 natural colours, this foundation is designed to brighten up lacklustre skin.  There are 5 matte shades for medium and tan skin tones, and 1 mediterranean matte shade that contours perfectly with darker skin tones and makes the complexion glow.  Bourjois makeup products are exclusive to selected Clicks stores OR online at Cosmetiques De France (they are the official importers of Bourjois, Max Factor, Bioderma, Noreva and other skincare brands).  They currently have a nice promo on their website – you get a cute little travel-sized Bioderma Micellar Water FREE with any online order.

Pale or fair-skinned gals, I’m sad to say this foundation will unfortunately not be suitable for your skin tone.  I was sent the lightest shade in the collection (03 Beige) and it is unfortunately way too dark for me.  I will be mixing it with my trusty ‘The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops’ to lighten it up, but for the price of R250+, I suggest you rather give this one a skip.

Bourjois Little Round Pot Eyeshadows

Bourjois Round Pot Eyeshadows (R125,95) – Bourjois have used the revolutionary ‘baked technology’ since 1863 to give their eyeshadows an ultra soft, light and easy-to-blend formula.  The eyeshadows have a hypoallergenic formula, plus they are paraben- and fragrance free.  Available in matte, pearl and shimmer, the pots reflect the colour and finish of the shadow inside.  When dry, the eyeshadow blends over the lid with ease.  When used damp, the shadow can easily be used to draw precise lines, for an eyeliner effect.  Bourjois makeup products are exclusive to selected Clicks stores OR online at Cosmetiques De France (they are the official importers of Bourjois, Max Factor, Bioderma, Noreva and other skincare brands).

Gliss Hydra Miracle

Schwarzkopf Gliss Hydra Miracle (starting at R52,99) – The ultra-light, but caring repair formula with hydra peptides from pure aloe vera essence provides hair with precise amount of care and moisture it needs.  Dehydrated and porous hair is optimally repaired and taken care of, without being overburdened.  The new Gliss Hydra Miracle range also provides a liquid keratin reconstruction to the hair and renews its quality by repairing damaged areas from deep inside the hair follicle through to the surface. The range consists of a shampoo (R52,99), a conditioner (R66,99), and a Hydra Miracle Express Repair Leave-in Conditioner (R89,99).  Gliss hair care products are available at leading retailers nationwide.

Beautyblender Pure Beautyblender South Africa

Beautyblender Pure (R398,00) – A colourless, edgeless, non-disposable, sponge made especially for sensitive skin and skincare application. Beautyblender Pure is designed to ensure optimal application of the most advanced skincare products.  Leave the old method of applying product with fingers behind and say goodbye to spotty coverage, less penetration of product in key areas (eyes, nose, etc.), and dirt travelling over freshly cleansed skin.  Use it with complexion products, serums, eye treatments, moisturisers, makeup removers, and any other skincare product.  Beautyblender features an open cell structure that fills with small amounts of water when wet.  This allows the sponge to be ‘full’ so that the product sits on top of the sponge rather than being absorbed, allowing you to use less product every time.  When wet, Beautyblender doubles in size and becomes even softer, returning to its original size when it air dries.  For a list of authorised Beautyblender stockists in South Africa, click here.

I’m sure most of you already know I absolutely adore my pink Beautyblender, so I’m very keen to place an order for this one.  Just to see if it’s any different to the original – plus, who would have thought one can apply skincare products with a dampened sponge?

Giorgio Armani Sì Rose Signature (R1390.00 for 50ml / R1970.00 for 100ml) – This limited edition intensely feminine reinterpretation of the original eau de parfum adds 2 rose accords to give an unexpected twist to the Sì trademark chypre.  The rose is an icon of beauty, femininity and passion.  Giorgio Armani celebrates all 3 by bringing together 2 of the most famous roses in perfumery: Rose de Mai central to the appeal of Sì, and the ageless purity of Rose Turque.  Sì Rose Signature opens with sensational spring freshness lit by flashes of bergamot and mandarin. The light freesia accord blends seamlessly with the Blackcurrant Neo Jungle Essence.  The two rose absolutes at its heart create an opulent bouquet.  Giorgio Armani Sì fragrances are available at selected Edgars, Red Square, Stuttafords and Woolworths stores.

I received a beautiful parcel from Giorgio Armani last week, which included the new Sì Rose Signature fragrance.  The bottle is absolutely stunning, and I think I like the scent even more than the original Sì Eau De Toilette (featured here).

I’ll definitely do a review on the Primer Oil – I haven’t seen that many reviews online, so I’m interested to see how well my makeup wears throughout the day.

      Thanks, Nadia. 😉

Oh my word….I should have heeded your warning and gotten my coffee! My husband has never hit me in his life, but he may throw something at me if I go to him with the list of products I want to try out from this list…LMAO

    Where to start….

The Revlon All in One mascara has been on my list since I’ve seen it in action on a video by All Dolled Up. It looks good and well priced (Edgars is currently running a Revlon promotion).

That essence Pretty Girl collection is SO ME! I love it. I have only ever tried their brow gel and brow kit….oh and I really like their nail polish, so I will definitely try a few from this collection :)

That Smashbox Palette *heart eyes*….really stunning! I can never spend that much on a palette though…*sniff* Awesome that it is really an all in one for your face (well minus a blush).

Ahhh Limited Edition Nespresso…how cute are those Capsules! Fave capsule Luzanne? I’m loving Kazaar and then my regular everyday capsule is Arpeggio. I can’t wait to try the limited edition ones.

I do not understand eyelash primers for the life of me….well unless you’re rich…or lucky enough to receive it for free….lol. I don’t think I’d ever buy one.

Did a Lush order today…but for the kids and hubby…Unicorn horn and his shaving cream. Nothing for poor ol mom. The samples…those will be for me. lol.

Great post….bad bad bad for our budgets Luzanne!!

    • Simone Cameron 5 February 2016 / 12:30

PS and yes to reviews on everything! lol

      • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 16:45

Haha! I’ll try my best to do reviews on everything, but I might fail miserably because those are a lot of reviews… Might do a ‘Beauty Snoop’ blog post soon. 😀

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 16:43

Haha!! I know you like a good LOOOOOOOONG blog post, Simone. 😉

Yah, I’m also very keen to try the Revlon All-In-One mascara – the wand sounds very interesting.

You need to try more of their products… I’m actually working on something a little bit different to review a lot of different Essence products in one blog post. Some of their products are definite hits and others are not so great. Still working on it, though, so it should be up in about a week or 2.

Yes, I’m very interested to see what the quality of the eyeshadows and the other products are like…sometimes when brands do a big palette like this, they sometimes tend to skimp on the quality.

My favourite capsules are Rosabaya (because it’s pink and because I like the taste) or Caramelito (because I love flavoured coffee). Kazaar is way too strong for me, but Neal LOVES strong coffees so we always buy a whole bunch of different sleeves.

A good lash primer can definitely do wonders for someone who struggles with sparse or short lashes. But I’m not talking about drugstore lash primers, because those are basically just white mascaras. A good lash primer (in my opinion) is usually a dark colour – like the Estee Lauder Little Black Primer or the Benefit one. But I’m very keen to see how the Smashbox one is going to work for me, because it’s white. 😉

Such a generous mommy you are! I’m not sure I’d ever be able to place a LUSH order that only contains products for other people… Nah, don’t think so. I’d definitely have to sneak a little something in there for myself as well. 😉 Which samples did you choose? I chose Jersey Bounce and Boom! Toothy Tabs but in the end they only sent me one sample. Meh… They usually always send 2 samples, so not sure what happened there.

      • Simone Cameron 8 February 2016 / 10:00

I also like Caramelito :) I have that on a day when I just want to relax with a cup of coffee vs needing my caffeine fix. right. now.

I ordered toothy tabs, purely because I’m tired of finding out on the way to school that my 4yr old forgot to brush his teeth. lol. So I want to keep them in the car for him to chew and spit. I’m hoping they can work like that as well?? I chose the coffee mask as a sample as they had no stock for me to purchase the mask (So I would have gotten myself that) and….I think maybe a cream of some sort. Oh Magical Moringa. I’m heartsore there’s nothing for me, but….I know my husband is literally going to ask me to marry him again when he sees I’ve ordered him 2 tubs. I’ll give one immediately. The other I’m hiding away for valentines day…he he.

You’re such a sweetie to always reply to my way too long posts :)

  5. Nqobile Xaba 5 February 2016 / 12:10

That Smashbox palette is all a girl needs, would love a review of the essence products

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 16:47

I 100% agree with you, Nqobile – you can basically do a whole face of makeup with just that one palette. :)

I’ll most definitely do a review on the ‘Happy Girls Are Pretty’ collection items. I probably won’t review the Valentine’s day collection because the products don’t really excite me. :)

      • Simone Cameron 8 February 2016 / 10:00

I agree the Valentines range really wasn’t too inspiring….at all actually.

  6. Charmaine 5 February 2016 / 12:13

Thank you for this post! I have been trying to find a Beautyblender but all local online stores seemed to be out of stock. Thanks to your info I have now ordered one from the Placecol online store. Thank you for the info all all these new goodies x

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 16:48

I’m so happy to hear you managed to place an order for a Beautyblender. It’s definitely my ultimate favourite makeup application tool in the history of my life. 😉 xo

  7. Kelebogile Oliphant-Khumalo 5 February 2016 / 13:08

    NICE! Thank you

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 16:49

Thanks for popping by the blog, Kels. :)

  8. Bianca 5 February 2016 / 13:34

Yay! Love reading these posts. Thanks for the tip on the Air Mat foundation – I was keen to try it but now that I know that their lightest shade is too dark for you I’m definitely going to give it a skip as I’m super fair. I have my eye on the Smashbox brow tech and primer oil, and those Mac Liquid Lipsticks.

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 16:50

You’re welcome, Bianca. I wish Bourjois would expand the Air Mat foundation shade selection because it looks like a really lovely foundation (especially if you have oily skin).

      Good choices! 😉

  9. Em Cameron 5 February 2016 / 13:59

NEEEEEEEED that white Beauty Blender in my life! You think it’ll be suitable for makeup as well?

Thanks for compiling these amazing posts every month, they’re one of my faves.

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 16:52

Me too! Me too! It should be suitable for makeup as well (I think it’s exactly the same sponge, just hasn’t been dyed) but it’s going to look VERY dirty VERY quickly – you’d probably have to wash it every day to make sure the foundation doesn’t stain the white sponge. And I’m way too lazy for that… I’ll stick to the pink one for makeup, and will buy the white one to see if it makes any difference to my skincare routine. 😉

  10. kate 5 February 2016 / 14:24

you can give the mac liquid lippies a skip.
or at least go try out in store. on me they performed worse than the la girl matte pigment glosses and thats saying something isnt it.
mac did a bad job on these, creases, dries patchy, transfers on everything and eventually cracks off and flakes off ur lips. NO thanks

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 16:57

Thanks for the feedback, Kate – I always love it when my readers tell me about their experiences with certain products. I received 2 of the shades (a bright orange, and a very dark plum) when I was at a MAC trend show last year but I haven’t used them to be honest. Mainly because the orange one isn’t something I would personally wear and the dark plum is a bit too vampy for Summer. I should probably wear the one around the house just to see what the formula is like. Do they stain the lips at all?

I’m not a fan of the L.A. Girl Matte Pigment Glosses at all, their formula is just so weird. They’re supposed to dry matte, but they still feel sticky after 2 hours’ wear (I own 4 or 5 shades and all of them do that).

  11. Kelly 5 February 2016 / 15:10

My favorite post!! Can’t wait to try some of these, if not all 😀 Thanks Luzanne!

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 16:57

      My pleasure, Kelly. 😉

  12. K Wichman 5 February 2016 / 16:40

Literally want everything in this blog post. Everything.

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 16:57

Haha!! Thanks for checking out the blog post, and for leaving a comment. :)

  13. Megan Watney 5 February 2016 / 17:01

Such a great post. Loved it. The Smashbox Palette is to die for!

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 16:58

      I agree – it’s everything a girl could ever want in a palette. 😉

  14. Yvonne 5 February 2016 / 17:11

    I want the smashbox products!

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 16:59

I’ll review some of them soon – still taking them for a test ride (or a couple of test rides). 😉

  15. Qondiswa N 5 February 2016 / 17:49

The Happy Girls are Pretty from Essence is so cute, but I don’t think that blush or contour palette will suit my skin tone. I’ll still buy the nail polishes and lipsticks. 😉

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 17:00

If you have very dark skin, then I don’t think the blush or contour palette will be suitable for you unfortunately. :( I’ve looked at some swatches of the nail polishes online and some of them are GORGEOUS!

  16. Veronique 5 February 2016 / 17:58

Im on the hunt for new hair products, so I think I will check out the Hask products and Gliss products.

The Kiehls turmeric face mask sounds nice..

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 17:00

      Great picks, Veronique. :)

  17. Odette 5 February 2016 / 19:30

Please review the Revlon All in One mascara, Smashbox Primer Oil, Dermalogica primer and the Nuxe night cream.

The Mac lipsticks are too expensive for me, I wish I could afford them though.

Hopefully I can get my hands on the Essence Pretty Girls collection, I love the look of the products.

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 17:02

I’ll see when I can get my hands on the Revlon mascara, and I’ll definitely feature it on the blog (or my social media platforms). You can count on a review of the Smashbox Primer Oil and the Dermalogica products. I started using the NUXE products this weekend, and I’m loving the night cream so far.

I can’t wait for the Essence collection to be in-store – I’m going to raid those limited edition shelves! 😀

  18. R Fourie 5 February 2016 / 20:05

The Essence Pretty Girls collection : beau-ti-ful !!!!

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 17:02

100% agree with you – can’t wait to do a review on the blog. :)

Very interested to hear your thoughts on the Dermalogica products, and the Nuxe skincare.

Thanks for the effort you put into your blog posts, Luzanne. :)

    • Luzanne 7 February 2016 / 17:07

I’ll be sure to feature them on the blog soon – thanks for taking the time to read the blog post and leave a comment, Trish.

It’s my pleasure! I know my readers love these blog posts, so I enjoy compiling them for you. :)

  22. Camilla (Jane Wonder) 8 February 2016 / 09:15

The HASK ‘Express Blow Dry’ is totally mine! Can’t wait to get my hands on it. Those MAC Liquid Lipsticks also look beaut, but perhaps a little steep for my budget :/

    – Jane Wonder –

    • Luzanne 8 February 2016 / 18:16

I’m also thinking of getting that one…I checked Dis-Chem today and it’s not in-store yet. xo

  23. Roshan Heuvel 8 February 2016 / 10:29

LOVE these posts and you starved me for January, but more than made up for it in the above!!! :-) Thanks for keeping it REAL on the reviews and opinions and that’s why I rely on your posts as my go-to guide!! Waiting patiently for the Essence Happy Girl Review. Have an awesome week Luzanne!!

    • Luzanne 8 February 2016 / 18:18

Haha!!! It wouldn’t have been much of a blog post back in January – I think I would only have mentioned the MAC Ellie Goulding collection and one other collection… 😉

Thank you for the sweet comment, Roshan – you just made my day a whole lot brighter! :)

  24. Jeanelle Smuts 8 February 2016 / 14:04

Oh I just love Pink Peonies….Thank you Luzanne for that post! Love reading your blog. Cannot decide which product I don’t want!

    • Luzanne 8 February 2016 / 18:19

Thank you so much for your kind words, Jeanelle. :)

  25. Linda Bulcraig 10 February 2016 / 14:10

    Hi Luzanne,

I really love these posts, gives me something to look forward too! I was wondering if you perhaps know if anyone will be launching “foundation cushions” anytime soon? I am dying to try them.

    • Luzanne 3 March 2016 / 22:35

Thank you for the lovely comment, Linda. :) I actually asked Physician’s Formula South Africa if they’ll be bringing their cushion foundation to our shores anytime soon, but they couldn’t confirm that for me since they haven’t finalised the newness for the year as yet. I don’t think the L’Oreal foundation will be coming to South Africa, but I can try to find out for you. Will let you know. :)

I’m also dying to get my hands on a cushion foundation – they look so interesting! 😉

  26. Zaitoen Atkins 11 February 2016 / 15:46

Thank You for this really exciting blog post:-) So many things that I have to try but what caught my eye was that AWESOME beauty blender! How cool is that! I need to get my hands on one of those ASAP!

    • Luzanne 3 March 2016 / 22:32

I know, right!? That little white sponge is definitely on my ‘To Buy’ list. 😀

  27. Suvana 16 February 2016 / 10:05

Please review the fiber masacra from smashbox. Love reading your blog!

    • Luzanne 3 March 2016 / 22:31

Will definitely do that for you, Suvana. Thanks for popping by the blog. :)
