Products Popping Up – April 2016

New Products Launching - April

Happy Monday, everyone!  I’m back with one of my favourite posts to write – today we’re taking a look at all the new products that you might see popping up on shelves this month.  I’m a little bit late with this blog post (I usually try to get them up right at the beginning of the month), but this time around I felt like there were other blog posts I wanted to get up first.  Speaking of which – have you entered my 2 GIVEAWAYS that are currently running on the blog?  If not, you can click on each one below to go enter:

♥  ColourPop Review & Swatches – Ultra Matte Lips & Super Shock Shadows + GIVEAWAY

♥  Review – Beautyblender Pretty.Posse Kit + GIVEAWAY

I must admit, there aren’t a heck of a lot of new launches this month…BUT what I can say is that all of them are very exciting!!  As I’m sitting here at my desk going through all the press releases and creating all the product images, I have teeny tiny butterflies in my stomach.  There are quite a few products I have hearty eyes for, and I have a feeling my bank balance is going to look rather pathetic at the end of this month.

Anyway, let’s go grab a cup of coffee (or tea) before we get started.  I’ll meet you back here in about 5 minutes, ok?

Ready?  Let’s go!

Black Opium Nuit Blanche Eau De Parfum

Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Nuit Blanche Eau De Parfum (starting at R830,00) – The unexpected hallmarks of its predecessor, Black Opium Eau De Parfum.  Creating an intoxicating whirlwind, Black Opium Nuit Blanche brings a hypnotic energy to the dark of an endless night.  Silky smooth rice vapour tickles the senses, offering a delicate warm sensation that is as elusive and rare as the note itself.  And at the central core comes the exhilarating orange blossom absolute.  Radiating a solar glow, its petals are picked in the Mediterranean and its crystal notes shape a pure harmony together with the delicate facets of a peony accord.  The familiar signature base: the coffee accord.  Matured over forty days, it is preciously kept in a sealed cask until the desirable level of quality is reached.  Sandalwood essence underpins it.  A veil of white musk wraps it all up, like a warm and tender gift, leaving a trail of carnal desire in its wake.  Black Opium Nuit Blanche makes its stunning debut in the iconic shape of the original Black Opium bottle.  But everything else is different – a black that’s burnished so that it’s almost black-red in hue; a sheer lacquer bathed in a thousand silver stars; and topped with a rose gold cap.  Beaming out from the heart is the precious juice with a view on the world that’s rose-tinted.

Erm, how gorgeous is that bottle!?  YSL very kindly sent the Black Opium Nuit Blanche EDP to me a few weeks ago and I’m in love – the bottle is even more beautiful in person!

Available at leading department stores with a retail price of R830,00 (30ml), R1140,00 (50ml), and R1500,00 (90ml).

Lancome Juicy Shakers

Lancôme Juicy Shakers (R270,00) – A surprising biphasic formula pairing pigments with lip care oils, and a unique cushion applicator.  A makeup result combining adjustable intensity and vibrant sheer colour with satin shine; all this in a super soft and non-sticky texture.  In short, a totally addictive new sensation nestled within this fun and chic accessory that you’ll never get tired of.  The on-the-lips result? A flush of adjustable, made-to- measure colour with the glossy finish and the nourishing benefits of an oil, without any sticky sensation.  The Lancôme Juicy Shakers contain peach kernel oil (softening and nourishing), sweet almond oil (to leave lips supple), cranberry oil (anti-oxidant, protective and restorative) and musk rose oil (regenerating and soothing).  Lancôme created its first ever cushion applicator for lips: A tool that’s velvety, supple and soft to the touch.  Just like Juicy Tubes, which won the hearts of women from all over the world with delicious scents, Juicy Shaker is infused with addictive, mouthwatering fragrances.  There will be 8 shades available in South Africa (not the full collection of 20), each with its very own juicy fragrance.  Here are the names and descriptions of the shades (in the order you see in the image above):

♥  Freedom Of Peach -Peach is the inspiration for every aspect of this singular shade, from its ultra-luminous orange accents to its fresh fruit notes.

♥  Apri-Cute – How could you not fall for this soft, sunlight-infused orange shade with its apricot scent?

♥  Walk The Lime – A zesty orange with plenty of spice.  Yet its lively, fizz-effect fragrance is pure lime.

♥  Good Kara-Mel – With its bewitching caramel scents, this praline brown is a truly delectable delight.

♥  Vanilla Pop – The most delicate of rosewoods, made all the more addictive by its subtle vanilla scent.

♥  Berry Tale – A deep and intense berry pink accompanied by delicious notes of blackcurrant.

♥  Mangoes Wild – Ever so slightly mischievous, this mango-scented orange-pink has a strong personality.  It’s also Lily Collins’ darling shade.

♥  Berry In Love – A zesty pink as mouthwatering as a freshly-picked berry, fragranced with sublime notes of blackberry.  This is the favourite shade of Lupita Nyong’o.

Will be available mid-April at Lancôme counters in selected department stores nationwide.

Lancôme South Africa sent me 3 of the shades, and I’m in love!!  These tinted lip oils are so unique, and unlike anything I have ever used before.  I will definitely review them on the blog, but I want to buy 1 or 2 additional shades before I post my full review – I currently have ‘Berry In Love’, ‘Walk The Lime’, and ‘Good Kara-Mel’ (a Kylie Jenner type shade), and I still want to buy ‘Freedom Of Peach’ and ‘Mangoes Wild’.

Loreal Paris Extraordinary Oil Night Mask Loreal Paris Extraordinary Face Oil

L’Oréal Paris Extraordinary Oil Night Mask (R249,95) – The comfort of a cream, the pleasure of an oil, that works while you sleep.  This luxurious night cream with aromas of essential oils rosemary and lavender helps to unwind and relax the senses, whilst the rejuvenating formula with Argan and Royal Jelly provides intense hydration and reveals the look of radiance in your skin overnight.

L’Oréal Paris Extraordinary Face Oil (R249,95) – Drop after drop this facial oil nourishes the skin with moisture, leaving your skin looking brighter and healthier, and pores appear tightened, leaving a more balanced looking complexion.  L’Oréal Paris Laboratories have selected a refined blend of 8 essential oils (rosemary, lavender, camomile, lemongrass, clove, green oregano, citronella, and lemon balm) specially created for combination to oily skin known for their purifying and soothing properties. Extraordinary Rebalancing Facial Oil helps support the skin’s moisture balance; skin feels nourished with moisture without causing greasiness.  Thanks to the delicate aromatic scent, a feeling of calm and comfort envelops your senses for a moment of true pleasure.

L’Oréal Paris skin care products are available at leading pharmacies (Clicks & Dis-Chem), as well as selected department stores nationwide.

Loreal Paris Revitalift Filler Renew Replumping Night Cream Revitalift Filler Renew Replumping Eye Cream

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Filler Renew Replumping Night Cream (R284,95) – Fuller looking contours and plumper skin.  Revitalift Filler Renew contains the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid formulated by L’Oréal Paris in a cream.  It is also enriched with Fibroxyl plant extract, known for its firming properties.   It is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and gives plumper, bouncier skin and fuller-looking contours.  Night after night, the formula helps to restore skin.

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Filler Renew Replumping Eye Cream (R284,95) – Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the skin.  As you age, your natural reserves diminish causing your skin to lose plumpness. Consequently, skin loses its fullness and wrinkles deepen.  Although this is not a dermatological filler however, it will reduce the appearance of wrinkles and replump the under eye hollow tear area.  Revitalift Filler Renew Eye formula contains the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid ever formulated in a L’Oreal Paris eye cream.  It replumps skin with moisture – and with daily use, eye bags appear reduced and contours look smoother, fuller.  The double applicator is composed of:

♥  One curved side that perfectly follows the tear trough: the hollow of the under eye contour area.

♥  One flat side to massage and reduce the appearance of eye bags, as the cooling applicator hydrates the skin, leaving it feeling refreshed and revitalised.

L’Oréal Paris skin care products are available at leading pharmacies (Clicks & Dis-Chem), as well as selected department stores nationwide.

Reinvent yourself using Studio Pro products with 48-hour endurance.  The collection will consist of 3 x fixing hair sprays (Strong, Extra Strong, Ultra Strong), 1 x volume boosting hair spray, 1 x volume boosting mousse, 1 x curl boosting mousse, 1 x fixing mousse, and  1 x smoothing cream.

L’Oréal Paris Studio Pro products will be available at leading pharmacies (i.e. Clicks & Dis-Chem).

And that’s it!  I’ll be keeping an eye out for the Essence All That Greys Collection (specifically the eyeshadow palette, plus the burgundy lipgloss and nail polish), the Catrice Treasure Trove Collection (I think we can all agree the entire collection looks gorgeous), that sleeveless puff jacket (the light grey one) from Cotton On BODY, the L’Oréal Paris Extraordinary Oil Night Mask (sounds interesting), the Revlon ColorStay 2-in-1 Compact Makeup, the grey and pink Cotton On BODY long johns, and a pair of those Cotton On BODY home booties.

  5. Kerri Cunningham 11 April 2016 / 11:36

My favorite kind of blog post

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 13:59

Yay! Thank you for popping by the blog, Kerri. 😉

  6. Nisa 11 April 2016 / 11:36

The Lancome juicy shakers are just the cutest ever. Would love a review as they look very waterish on some swatches.

These posts are definitely my fave. Thanks Luzanne

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:00

Aren’t they just adorable?! They are very sheer, they give the lips a very glossy stain. They feel so lovely on the lips because they’re oil-based. Will definitely do a review soon! :)

  7. Simone Cameron 11 April 2016 / 11:53

My husband is visiting me at work today…so I keep calling him to look at my computer screen with items ‘I HAVE TO HAVE’…lol. He may just collapse after this post.

I’m loving the look of the Catrice collection more than the Essence one, but I’d like those nail art stickers. Also I HAVE to try that Clinique universal Matte powder. If you get it, please do a review for us :)

I’m trying the Smashbox clear lip liner today for the first time. What do you think of it?

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:03

      Hahahahaahaaaa!!!! Shame, poor hubby!

I’ll try to get my hands on the Clinique Setting Powder, but to be honest, I need another setting powder like I need a hole in the head. 😉

Hhhhmmmm, I like the Smashbox clear lip liner but it’s not amaaaaaazing. I don’t think I’ll recommend it to people, because Palladio has a similar clear lip liner product and it’s so much more affordable. :)

      • Simone Cameron 21 April 2016 / 09:03

Lol @ the setting powder! Don’t worry, I’m sure there’ll be plenty of reviews online :)

Totally agree on the Smashbox clear liner…it’s way overpriced and definitely not amazing :( I’ve really wasted money this month on Smashbox…grrr…oh well, live and learn. At least it sharpens itself. I was trying to dot a blunt lip liner on today, but alas it is just way too blunt. I keep buying sharpeners and they disappear before I even use them :(

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:07

      Yes! Love my Juicy Shakers!

I also love the Dermalogica Charcoal mask, it’s reminds me a lot of the Glamglow masks.

Bwahahahaha! I feel you, Odette! 😉

  15. Qondiswa N 11 April 2016 / 18:26

I am definitely getting the Dark and Lovely heat spray, I never use a protection spray. And its so cheap!

    xo, Q

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:11

It really is very affordable, and protecting your hair against heat damage is really important. :) xo

  16. Shannin 11 April 2016 / 19:37

Thanks Luzanne. I’m definitely keen to try the Kiehls product most of all but the Essence and Catrice ranges look lovely too!

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:12

I agree, I’m definitely checking both the Essence and Catrice collections out as soon as they’re in-store. :)

  17. farzana 11 April 2016 / 19:40

I want all those Juicy Shakers..they look so C.U.T.E!!!

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:12

I agree, and they feel really REALLY comfortable on the lips.

  18. Jet'aime Kock 11 April 2016 / 19:52

Thanks so much for the update Luzanne :)

I will definitely be trying out the new Essence and Catrice Cosmetics- I am a student on a budget, for now :)

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:13

You’re welcome – and thank you for taking the time to pop by the blog. :)

Essence and Catrice are my favourite budget-friendly brands for sure!

  19. Wardah da Costa 11 April 2016 / 20:03

    Great post. Can’t wait!

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:13

Thank you for checking out my blog post, Wardah. :)

  20. R Fourie 11 April 2016 / 20:58

My favourite of the month☺. I am curious about the Catrice Golden highlighter….. what do you think?

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:15

It looks like a good highlighter, but I’ll have to go swatch it when it’s out to see if it’s nice & smooth or a bit chunky (glittery). Fortunately Catrice JUST launched a highlighter as part of their permanent collection, so go check that out. I saw it at Dis-Chem last week Friday. I’m so glad there’s an affordable (permanent) option out there now…if only I had known about it before I loaded my ‘Affordable Makeup Starter Kit’ blog post 2 weeks ago. :)

  21. Leigh 11 April 2016 / 21:04

    Ooooh can’t wait for the Catrice palette :-) :-) :-) :-)

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:16

It looks like a stunner – all those neutrals…. *sigh*

  22. dionne 11 April 2016 / 21:45

So exciting loving the greys… And loved that you included cotton on. Ever since I started reading your blogs I seem to achieve more when shopping for beauty products and actually use most. I used to end up with lots stuff that ended up being bad quality. now my clothing shopping will improve too!!

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:18

I’ll definitely start incorporating more lifestyle and fashion items in these ‘Products Popping Up’ blog posts. :) I think it’ll be a nice way to add a wider variety of things (not just beauty) to the blog. 😉

  23. Melissa 11 April 2016 / 21:46

  24. Rebecca S 11 April 2016 / 22:52

Ok, so I basically want to buy everything but my husband will kill me if I do hehe! So I’ll start with a few of the Catrice collection items, some Cotton On clothing, the Kiehls Micro Peel Concentrate, and a Juicy Shaker.

Thank you for compiling these awesome posts, Luzanne!

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:19

Haha!!! Sounds like a good list you’ve got there, a good starting point… 😉 xo

  25. Mary-Anne 11 April 2016 / 23:07

Really want those Smashbox lip and cheek sticks, and the Stila Glow foundation. I hope they’ll have my shade, I always struggle to find foundations that match me.

    Loved this post (as always).

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:20

The Smashbox sticks are gorgeous, and I love that they have a blending sponge on the one end (makes it super user-friendly). :) Fortunately they have a good mix of yellow-toned and pink-toned foundations in the Stila Glow foundation – I hope you find a shade that matches your skintone. :)

  26. Iris Fourie 11 April 2016 / 23:08

Need that Dermalogica mask, Gosh brushes and the Revlon foundation. I love the idea of having a foundation and concealer in one compact – genius! 😀

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:21

I agree – the Revlon compact foundation looks very interesting! I’ll try to get my hands on it to see what the consistency / formula of the foundation is like. :)

  27. Porchia 12 April 2016 / 10:33

Aaaaargh! My poor bank balance!! 😉

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:21

Hahaahah!!! Don’t worry, I know what you mean! 😉

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:23

Hi Richolda, I own 2 of the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipsticks and I really like them. I’m actually going to use one of them in an upcoming makeup tutorial video. :) I’ll be sure to feature them in an upcoming blog post too, I think a lot of people might like the formula. :)

Thank you for checking in on the blog, I really appreciate it. :) xo

  29. dionne 12 April 2016 / 11:16

Would love to see a picture or video on how you would use the new essence collection or eye shadows at least. Please ☺

  31. Trish 12 April 2016 / 13:45

Juicy Shakers all the way, I want one of each!! 😀

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:25

I wouldn’t mind having one of each shade as well… 😉 Definitely going to buy 2 more shades when they’re in-store. :)

  32. Jolene Krantz 12 April 2016 / 14:14

Love this post. I want everything, especially the Kiehls Micro Peel. Wish it was sold here. I will have to try and order online.
Do you know if the Revitalift products work? Looking for something anti-aging.
    Keep the posts coming x

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:27

As far as I know Kiehl’s products are only sold at Kiehl’s counters or the V&A store. :( There aren’t any online stores that stock their products at the moment unfortunately.

I have no idea, I haven’t tested the new Revitalift products yet. Are you looking for a night cream or an eye cream?

Thank you for popping by the blog, Jolene. :)

  33. Carmen van Leeve 12 April 2016 / 14:31

Thanks for the heads up on products coming out… well worth the read…
Definitely interested in the makeup products
Essence & Catrice – I am more leaning towards the Catrice products but will take a look once they hit the stores.

So when do they hit the stores??? Please let us know if you see them in-store :)

    • Luzanne 19 April 2016 / 14:29

      You’re welcome, Carmen. :)

I don’t have an exact date for the Essence and Catrice launches, especially since they don’t roll out to all stores at the same time. But I will definitely tweet, Facebook post, and Instagram post as soon as I see them on the shelves. :)

  34. Rivania Pillay 13 April 2016 / 19:29
