Product Empties

I know what you are thinking…  Who wants to look at another woman’s trash?!

I love watching these types of Youtube videos, because the beauty guru tells you whether she liked the product; and whether she will repurchase it.  I do, however, get a bit freaked out when some of the girls pull out these dirty containers with hair (and other questionable substances) plastered all over them.  *awkward*  Don’t worry, mine have been washed and dried!

Bioderma Sébium Gel Moussant

This cleanser was somewhere in the middle for me – it wasn’t incredible but I also didn’t NOT like it.  It removes makeup well, it cleanses the skin just as well but I didn’t really find it had any impact on my skin issues i.e. pimples, enlarged pores & shiny T-zone.

Repurchase?  No, but only because I feel there are other (more affordable) cleansers out there that will do exactly the same job this little cleanser did.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

I am gutted, absolutely gutted.  I received this little sample container in a Rubybox / Glossybox / Glambox last year and I have been using it sparingly because I am so in love with it.  I need to save some serious pennies to purchase the full-sized container (I think it retails for just under R 800,00 – EEK!).  This is THE best exfoliator I have EVER used, no jokes.  It has just the right amount of abrasiveness, it smells amazing (almost like baking powder / baking soda) and it leaves the skin feeling seriously soft.

Repurchase?  Yes!

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Color Renew Tone Correcting Shampoo

Unfortunately this shampoo did absolutely nothing for my hair.  It didn’t tone down the yellow / brassiness of my hair at all and I was left with dehydrated hair.  Now, I know these purple shampoos tend to dry out hair and I’d be happy with having my hair a bit more dry after a wash with this, but only if it actually worked.

Repurchase?  No, at R 100,00 I’d rather add another R80,00 to buy the L’Oreal Professional Silver Shampoo (at least I know I’ll be getting my money’s worth).

Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara in Black

I also received this mascara in a Rubybox / Glossybox / Glambox and kept it stashed away in a drawer because I was using other mascaras at the time.  I have really loved using this mascara – I love the brush (plastic), I love the consistency of the mascara (wet), I love that this mascara can be applied in only one coat and it lengthens, separates and creates volume.

Repurchase?  Definitely yes.

Benefit Instant Brow Pencil in Light

I bought this brow pencil at the Benefit clearance sale last year, as they were getting ready to leave South Africa.  What a sad time it was, I still remember purchasing this brow pencil with a heavy heart because I knew it would probably be the last Benefit product I would ever buy.  When I initially started using this brow pencil, I thought it was great.  I loved how waxy it was, the pigmentation was good and it had a spoolie tip on the one end.  But then I discovered MAC’s Lingering brow pencil and this seemed a bit too waxy and not as easy to work with.  I did, however, keep using this Benefit brow pencil but on days when I knew I was going to be at home because it just didn’t make my brows look as good as the MAC one.

Repurchase?  No.

So there you have it!  I’ve accumulated another batch of empties so let me know whether you enjoy reading these types of posts and I’ll be happy to do another one of them!

I have not used any of these products, I like my Pond’s products for my face. The Dermalogica scrub looks nice but R 800!? Sho, no thank you.

Yes, I agree – the price of the Dermalogica Microfoliant is quite steep but in all honesty, it’s worth it!

Thank you for popping onto my blog, Zee! Always nice to see you 🙂
