Paul Mitchell Neuro Smooth Hair Straightener GIVEAWAY

Paul Mitchell Neuro Smooth Giveaway

Stopping by a hair salon is probably the only way for most ladies to get a killer blowout, perfect waves, or droolworthy curls.  We all dread when it’s time to shampoo again because we’ll be back to square one – dull, lifeless locks.  A great hair styling tool is a must for those who dream of salon-calibre results at home.  You can create smooth & sleek styles, shiny curls or beachy waves using a flat iron – it’s super quick & easy and the curls last for ages!  You guys know the drill, I’ve spoken about it on the blog before and also filmed a video on how you can create beautiful curls using only a hair straightener.

This is definitely one of those situations where I wish I was a blog reader, not a blogger.  I am very excited to be doing this giveaway, not only because I am a hair tool fiend but also because I love Paul Mitchell products.  You guys know how much I adore the Paul Mitchell Hot Off The Press Thermal Protection Hairspray – I started using it about a year ago and it was love at first spritz.  If you would like to read more about why I love their heat protectant spray so much, take a look at this blog post.  I recently also discovered the Paul Mitchell Spray Wax and I’m obsessed, but more on that in another blog post.

As you probably know, March 2015 is my blog’s birthday month – we’re celebrating 2 glorious years filled with happy moments, meeting new friends (yep, I see each and every single one of you as a friend), great opportunities and of course blood, sweat & tears too!

I am extremely lucky (and very thankful) to have readers who are so friendly and supportive.  I am also very grateful for the relationships I have built with amazing brands over the past 2 years – one of which, is Retail Box.  If you have been following my blog for a while now, you will know I love purchasing my hair care goodies from their online store.  Their prices are unbeatable, they stock a rather impressive range of beauty products (hair, makeup and nails), they have epic sales every now & again AND they recently started stocking theBalm makeup products.

Paul Mitchell Neuro Smooth Pink Peonies Blog Giveaway

I have been dying to get my hands on one of these Paul Mitchell Neuro products ever since they were launched in South Africa towards the end of last year – today, though, I am giving 1 Neuro Smooth Hair Straightener away to 1 lucky Pink Peonies blog reader.  I haven’t had the pleasure of testing one of the Neuro products out  just yet, but if the quality is anything like their styling products, then I have no doubt you will LOVE this prize.  Trust me, I will be very jealous of the prize winner!  Don’t worry, though, I only took photos of the prize for this blog post & after that the flat iron went straight back into the box to be sent off to the winner next week.

This hair straightener is a beaut – sleek, smooth and so classy.  The Neuro Smooth features an ultra-sensitive SmartSense microchip that monitors the temperature 50 times per second to ensure even heat distribution at all times.  Inexpensive plates often don’t heat up evenly, which means that they smooth your hair in some places but neglect others.  As a result, you are forced to run the iron over the same section 3 or 4 times, ultimately causing heat damage that will lead to hair breakage.  You can avoid excessive heat damage by investing in a flat iron that heats up uniformly (like the Neuro Smooth), so you can smooth an entire section of hair in just a single swipe.  The Paul Mitchell Neuro Smooth has got you covered – it really is a unique hair styling tool!

Paul Mitchell Neuro Smooth Pink Peonies Giveaway

♥  Adjustable temperature control – this is great as it means this hair tool is suitable for all hair types!  You are able to lower the temperature if you have fine hair or increase the temperature if you have frizzy & coarse hair.

♥  Heats up to 450˚F (230˚C) in 30 seconds – super fast!

♥  Features 1.25″ premium IsoTherm titanium plates.  Titanium is a lightweight, low-density lustrous metal that offers high temperature stability.  Compared to ceramic, titanium can heat up much faster, while distributing the heat evenly throughout the surface of the hair.  It also has a higher ionic charge that keeps the hair smooth and shiny – a sleek ‘do in fewer passes.  Also, the silver mirrored plates look oh so fab!

♥  SmartSense microchip for lightning-fast heat recovery – this means your flat iron won’t lose heat, the temperature will remain constant.

♥  Auto shut-off can be customised – this is a total game changer for me as I have been known to leave my hair straightener on at home.  Eeeek!

♥  Cushioned plates with beveled edges – this means you are able to create curls and waves without any demarcation marks.

♥  2,7m swivel cord – love this as the cord won’t get all tangled up.

♥  Exterior LCD display that displays the set temperature and allows for you to easily make adjustments to fit your specific needs.

Here’s how you can enter to win the Paul Mitchell Neuro Smooth – valued at R 1980,00 (but remember to enter through the Rafflecopter widget, otherwise your entries won’t be valid):

I dont blowdry my hair, I put it in rollers to dry and then use a straightener ,reduce the heat damage!

  15. 9 March 2015 / 12:21

Oh my gosh, this looks perfect! I have naturally curly, frizzy hair that takes like two hours to straighten, which is why I don’t do it very often 🙁

Since I wear it natural most of the time, my hair care secret for my type of hair is hydration. I like to do a hair mask once a week, either using coconut oil or something from Moroccan Oil (if I was feeling spendy and treated myself to a tub!) and leave it on for as long as I can get away with it. Once everything is dry, I also like to put an oil in my hair – something from Dove, Tresemme or Moroccan Oil again…just to give it a bit of shine and to tame that frizz!

    9 March 2015 / 12:22

Thrice a week, I wash my hair with conditioner. No Shampoo! It gives my hair a much needed break from scrubbing, and leaves my hair feeling soft, strong, and silky smooth. It’s a ritual that I believe many can benefit from!

@jo2311 My ultimate hair care secret a long standing family secret…the miraculous benefits of coconut oil. My grandmother used this remedy as her own special hair care treatment and mask and she had long, silky, strong black hair for as long as I can remember. She would use this treatment on a Saturday morning from late afternoon and leave in overnight and wash her hair on a Sunday morning. She would massage my scalp as well with warm oil, and sometimes even mix in lavender oil, castor oil, almond oil and olive oil. The dazzling mixture of oils would impart a really good health for the scalp and re-grow lost hair. It used to assist with the hair’s natural moisture, and does away with problems like dullness, dryness and dry skin. Till today, it is an ongoing tradition in our house. My sisters, my mum and I also continue this amazing treatment and we all have strong, healthy, shiny, luscious long hair. Thank you Ma.

My best hair secret is my homemade “The Hulk” hair treatment for dry hair. I mash up 1 ripe avocado with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of plain yoghurt to form a thick paste. The green concoction then gets massaged into my hair (loads of messy crazy fun), and I then pile all my hair into a shower cap to stop myself from scooping off the avocado mask and putting it in my mouth! After about 30 mins, I rinse out “The Hulk” with normal shampoo and enjoy my silky soft delicious hair

I try to keep it simple. Wash (i.e. strip your hair of its natural oils) no more than twice a week, use a good conditioner every time. Always use a thermal protectant when using heat (Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum is brilliant, it also helps tame the frizz when drying naturally). A trim every three months keep runaway split ends in check.

im ashamed to say its quite rare that i do my own hair , i just cant manage it and im hopeless when it comes to using a blow-dryer so the only way i ensure my hair is healthy is by using a mask each week i normally alternate between a protein mask i purchased from a salon and a moisturizing mask (I’ve been loving the Hask treatements lately ) as my hair looses moisture

  83. Bianca

Wishing, wishing, wishing I’ll be the lucky 1.
Remedy for dry and itchy hair/scalp: Apple cider vinegar has antibacterial and antifungal properties that will calm and heal an itchy, dry scalp. To treat dry hair, apple cider vinegar is very effective. Instead of using expensive shampoos for hair, a simple pack or massage of apple cider vinegar works better. All you are required to do is to take out some apple cider vinegar in a bowl. With the help of a cotton ball, apply it on the scalp and hair. Rinse your hair after 5-10 minutes.

    13 March 2015 / 09:41

I use a hair mask to keep my hair extra smooth. I prefer a thick texture mask – if I turn the tub upside down and it drips out, it ain’t no mask, it’s a conditioner! (Just my opinion.)

I shock my shampoo & conditioner routine every now and then by washing with a different shampoo. (I usually use a moisture shampoo. To shock it, I’ll use a dandruff treatment shampoo.)

While warm water opens a hair’s cuticle to allow shampoo and conditioner to do their job, cold water helps to close the cuticle and seal in moisture from the conditioner — which helps your hair look shiny and healthy. So, take a warm shower, but at the end, rinse with cold water. If you really don’t like cold showers, stylists recommend pouring one cup apple cider vinegar mixed with two cups water over hair after washing and conditioning. Vinegar is a gentle exfoliator that removes product build-up and dandruff from the scalp.

  166. 14 March 2015 / 07:53

Apply the hair mask on your dirty hair while you are in the shower
Cling wrap or use a shower cap
Stand under your shower with the hot water on

My best hair care secret is Avon argon oil and shampoo and conditioner. A home made olive oil mask that’s heated and applied to my hair all day (on a weekend of course), makes my hair soft.
