While most people welcomed 2016 with champagne, streamers and pounds of confetti, I welcomed the new year pushing some Zzzzz’s from the comfort of my bed. I can’t remember the last time I was out on New Year’s Eve, it was a very long time ago. Probably longer than I care to admit (I feel so old). Neal and I spent New Year’s Day at home with the dogs, playing board games, watching our favourite series and nibbling on basically everything in the pantry and fridge. How was your New Year’s Eve / Day?
I’ll be doing a ‘2015 Reflections & 2016 Goals’ blog post soon, but for now, here are my wishes for you.
This year I hope you:
♥ Let go of your fear of failure.
♥ Live outside of your comfort zone.
♥ Don’t dwell on your mistakes – learn from them, and move on.
♥ Do something every day that you love, something that makes you feel alive.
♥ If you have dreams or goals…chase them and work really hard.
♥ Do whatever it takes to heal – emotionally, mentally, physically.
♥ Rise by lifting others.
♥ Realise that it’s okay to be selfish, but only if it’s for the greater good.
And I hope you have:
♥ A soft pillow and a comfy duvet.
♥ The strength and courage to do what needs to be done, even if it’s the most difficult thing you have ever done in your life.
♥ An abundance of books.
♥ Someone who makes you laugh, even when you don’t want to.
♥ The unconditional love of a dog.
♥ A healthy body and mind.
♥ Good hair days.
I have so many exciting things planned for 2016, and I have a feeling it’s going to be a very busy year for me (and the blog). I’m going to end this blog post off with the following:
Embrace change. If life was consistent and without ups & downs, it would be boring, bleak and monotone. We’re here to dodge bullets, get back up when we’re kicked down and make decisions for ourselves. It’s all about building character. Never fear change, it could be exactly what you need.
