My Blog Swap With Quintessentially Me

My Blog Swap Quintessentially Me

I have been a big fan of lucky packets ever since I can remember, granted I don’t really buy them these days because I don’t have a need (or space!) for the toys.  I guess the ‘adult version’ of these lucky packets would be a subscription box type thing like Rubybox or the ‘I Love You’ box.  The thrill of holding a box or packet in your hands and not knowing what’s inside, it’s like Christmas!  Anyone who knows me personally, knows I LOVE gifts…  We usually celebrate Christmas Eve at my mom’s house – I’m always the first person to finish dinner, and always the first person to say: “Right!  Let’s get to the gifts, shall we?”

A blog swap gives me the same thrill – this is my first blog swap and although I really enjoyed buying the items for Ashleigh, I was super excited to see what she had bought for me!  You can read my first blog post on Ashleigh and her beautiful blog here but the short of it is:  Ashleigh is a South African blogger living in London, her blog is called Quintessentially Me.  A couple of months ago she contacted me asking whether I would like to meet up with her (she was planning a trip to South Africa) and perhaps do a blog swap too.  I agreed and in the weeks leading up to our meet-up, we became friends, literally messaging each other almost every single day.  For the blog swap, we agreed on an amount of money we were both comfortable to spend on each other (which by the way, neither of us stuck to – haha!) and Ashleigh asked whether I could include mostly South African products.  I, on the other hand, didn’t really ask for specific brands or products BUT Ashleigh knew I was a big fan of Soap & Glory products.

We eventually met up at Tasha’s and it was like we had been friends for years – chatting away, getting to know each other, all while giggling about random things as well.  We gave each other the blog swap parcels and then opened them up right there.  I was SO excited, astounded, and grateful for all the goodies Ashleigh had handpicked just for me.  Take a look below:

I’m hoping to get my Youtube channel up and running in the next couple of weeks and will definitely be using some of these products in makeup tutorials.  I actually haven’t used any of these products yet, because I told myself I would only be allowed to use them once the blog post has been loaded.  Yay!  So now I can get stuck into these products!  Phew…

*runs to apply all the makeup to my face and all the nail polishes to my nails*

Juuuuust joking…
