A couple of weeks ago this darling little duo from Morgan Taylor arrived on my doorstep, these 2 nail polishes form part of the Midnight Masquerade collection. This specific collection is their Winter 2015 collection and let me tell you: It’s gorgeous! I could be biased but I think these 2 nail polishes are actually my favourites from the collection. I went to Dis-Chem this past week to go take a look at the whole collection (in case 1 or 2 other shades stood out to me & I wanted to buy them to feature in this blog post) but these two are definitely my favourites. Before I show you swatches, let me tell you a bit more about the collection:
Inspired by the mystery and intrigue of a masquerade ball, this colour palette features deep sensual shades balanced by opulent and adventurous tones. As mentioned, this is a limited edition collection, so if there’s one that tickles your fancy, be sure to pick it up as soon as possible. The Midnight Masquerade collection features 6 stunning shades – 2 glitters, 2 shimmers and 2 crèmes.
For this blog post, I’ll be focusing mainly on the 2 nail polishes that were sent to me but I’ll also give you a little bit more information about the other shades (I won’t have swatches, though).
♥ My Kind Of Ball Gown – A beautiful rosy-pink crème with subtle golden shimmer. You can see the shimmers in the first two photos above, but it’s very subtle once applied to the nails. I love the formula of this little polish – 2 coats and you’re good to go!
♥ Don’t Rain On My Masquerade – A gorgeous bronze pink glitter polish, it can be used as a top coat or will give you a fully opaque manicure with 2 thick coats (no base needed). I was really impressed by this polish as it is saturated with rose gold glitters, 1 coat will give you a semi-opaque coverage. The swatch you see above is 2 thin coats – impressive, right?
Be sure to follow me on Instagram to see these beauties in action – I’ll be loading a manicure photo tomorrow!
♥ Vixen In A Mask – A sultry scarlet shimmer polish, from what I’ve seen in-store it looks very vibrant in the bottle. It really is a stunning shade for Autumn & Winter.
♥ Jest-er Kidding – A very unique platinum multi-coloured glitter topper that contains red, blue and yellow hex glitters.
♥ Flirting With The Phantom – A natural mauve nude crème shade, perfect for the office or casual weekends. I instantly fell in love with this shade when I saw it at Dis-Chem this past Tuesday but the queue to the tills was too long, so I very hesitantly put it back on the shelf. #LazyGirlProblems Oh, and I do love the name of this particular polish as ‘Phantom Of The Opera’ is one of my favourite films.
♥ The Big Reveal – A deep emerald / teal blue shimmer. These jewel tones are always a hit during the cold Winter months.
Morgan Taylor nail polishes retail for R 123,00 at selected nails salons, Dis-Chem and Edgars stores or online at Spree (they have the whole collection in stock & I might just place an order for ‘Flirting With The Phantom’).
