2 Must-Haves From The Morgan Taylor Midnight Masquerade Collection

Morgan Taylor Midnight Masquerade

A couple of weeks ago this darling little duo from Morgan Taylor arrived on my doorstep, these 2 nail polishes form part of the Midnight Masquerade collection.  This specific collection is their Winter 2015 collection and let me tell you:  It’s gorgeous!  I could be biased but I think these 2 nail polishes are actually my favourites from the collection.  I went to Dis-Chem this past week to go take a look at the whole collection (in case 1 or 2 other shades stood out to me & I wanted to buy them to feature in this blog post) but these two are definitely my favourites.  Before I show you swatches, let me tell you a bit more about the collection:

Inspired by the mystery and intrigue of a masquerade ball, this colour palette features deep sensual shades balanced by opulent and adventurous tones.  As mentioned, this is a limited edition collection, so if there’s one that tickles your fancy, be sure to pick it up as soon as possible.  The Midnight Masquerade collection features 6 stunning shades – 2 glitters, 2 shimmers and 2 crèmes.

For this blog post, I’ll be focusing mainly on the 2 nail polishes that were sent to me but I’ll also give you a little bit more information about the other shades (I won’t have swatches, though).

Morgan Taylor Midnight Masquerade Collection My Kind Of Ball Gown Don't Rain On My Masquerade Swatches

♥  My Kind Of Ball Gown – A beautiful rosy-pink crème with subtle golden shimmer.  You can see the shimmers in the first two photos above, but it’s very subtle once applied to the nails.  I love the formula of this little polish – 2 coats and you’re good to go!

♥  Don’t Rain On My Masquerade – A gorgeous bronze pink glitter polish, it can be used as a top coat or will give you a fully opaque manicure with 2 thick coats (no base needed).  I was really impressed by this polish as it is saturated with rose gold glitters, 1 coat will give you a semi-opaque coverage.  The swatch you see above is 2 thin coats – impressive, right?

Be sure to follow me on Instagram to see these beauties in action – I’ll be loading a manicure photo tomorrow!

♥  Vixen In A Mask – A sultry scarlet shimmer polish, from what I’ve seen in-store it looks very vibrant in the bottle.  It really is a stunning shade for Autumn & Winter.

♥  Jest-er Kidding – A very unique platinum multi-coloured glitter topper that contains red, blue and yellow hex glitters.

♥  Flirting With The Phantom – A natural mauve nude crème shade, perfect for the office or casual weekends.  I instantly fell in love with this shade when I saw it at Dis-Chem this past Tuesday but the queue to the tills was too long, so I very hesitantly put it back on the shelf.  #LazyGirlProblems  Oh, and I do love the name of this particular polish as ‘Phantom Of The Opera’ is one of my favourite films.

♥  The Big Reveal – A deep emerald / teal blue shimmer.  These jewel tones are always a hit during the cold Winter months.

Morgan Taylor nail polishes retail for R 123,00 at selected nails salons, Dis-Chem and Edgars stores or online at Spree (they have the whole collection in stock & I might just place an order for ‘Flirting With The Phantom’).

It really is a beautiful collection, Morgan Taylor have been releasing some stunning collections lately.

I bought mine on eBay a few years ago (before the post office started with their nonsense). 🙂

Thanks for the spoil post. You know anything nail polish drives me nuts (in a good way). How gorgeous are these nail polishes.
I really want Vixen in a Mask and My kind of Ball. Im going to have to buy it and hide it because if my BF sees me buying one more bottle of nail polish Im a goner LOL

I am still waiting for my Biovea package but its ok I will give them some more time before I go all sorts of crazy on them. I will get the Human + Kind in the mean time.

    Have an awesome weekend!!!!!

They’re stunning, hey? The ‘Flirting With The Phantom’ shade is definitely going on my ‘To Buy’ list, and I’ll maybe add ‘The Big Reveal’ too!

I keep all my nail polishes in clear tupperware containers at the bottom of my cupboard, 1 container per colour of the rainbow (with glitters, base & top coats, and shimmers all in additional containers) – I’m totally OCD! Haha! But I’m working on making those nail polish racks that you see on Pinterest, and once they’re up, then Neal will see exactly how many nail polishes I own. Eeeek!

Oh, no… I’m going to send you the BIOVEA Warehouse Manager’s contact details (I’ll send to you on email), let him know you are still waiting for your order – he’s very helpful!

      Enjoy your weekend, Carmen!

I was sent Flirting with the phantom and Vixen in a Mask. Really pretty colours! My fave is phantom, it is a perfect dusty pinky nude colour. And so opaque it is unbelievable!

Hi adore your blog!! Was just wondering what your thoughts on the Morgan Taylor react are? Does it last longer? Does it have a gel effect? Very interested to try but don’t want something that will come off or chip after two days
