Moisturising Made Quick & Easy With Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturisers

If you had an extra couple of minutes in a day – what you spend that extra time on?  Most people would spend it doing something useful / meaningful, like spending a bit more time with a loved one, or dusting a neglected shelf, or playing with the dogs, or even reconciling their monthly accounts like a responsible adult.

Me?  I need those extra minutes in order to NOT be late for appointments.  I’m going to let you in on a little secret: For some or other reason, I’m always running late.  I honestly don’t know why, because I don’t take thaaaaat long to get ready (hair and makeup).  I guess I just have really bad time management skills – I usually reply to emails or do a bit of blog work before I head out to an appointment – and before I know it,  an hour has passed & I only have an hour to get ready!  Eeeeek!  So, it seems I really need those extra couple of minutes every morning to head out the door a bit earlier – and be on time for appointments.

I can feel your judgy eyes on me…you can stop giving me the side-eye, we all have bad habits (and I’m only ever 5 or 10 minutes late).  Anyway, so you’re probably wondering why I’m going on about saving time, when I should be reviewing the above body moisturisers from Vaseline.  There’s method to my madness, I promise.

So, the lovely folks at Vaseline know that life can be busy and our days can be rushed – whether you’re a mom who needs to get the kids to school, or a student who can’t be late for class, or maybe you’re an employee who needs to be on time for work.  We all have to start our day as early as possible, and head out the door as quickly as possible, right?  To make that easier, we need products that not only fit into this fast-paced lifestyle, but don’t compromise on quality.

I’d like to introduce you to the new Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturisers.  If you’ve been reading my blog since 2014 (thank you for being such a loyal reader), then you’ll know I actually featured this particular product in my ‘August 2014 Favourites’ blog post.  And they’ve been rocking my world ever since!  This was waaaay before these spray moisturisers were available in South Africa, and I remember hoping these would come to our shores because I wanted everyone to experience the magic of the Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturisers.

What are the Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturisers?  Available in 3 different variants – ‘Aloe Fresh’ (green), ‘Cocoa Radiant’ (brown), and ‘Deep Restore’ (yellow), these body moisturiser cans disperse a super fine milky spray (almost a mist) that nourishes and moisturises the skin, without any sticky or greasy residue.  And the best part?  The lightweight lotion is absorbed into the skin within seconds, just spray it on and minutes later you’re good to go – perfect for a busy / on-the-go lifestyle.  The formula contains tiny, micro droplets of Vaseline BLUESEAL to quench dry skin and soothe any general irritation.  I tried to capture the fine spray in a photograph (above, top right) but the mist is so fine, it doesn’t show up on camera unfortunately (this is a good thing, though, because it goes to show just how featherlight the formula is).

I love that the brightly coloured metal canisters are able to disperse the spray at any angle, even upside down – that means I can now moisturise my back without having to worry that I might miss a dry spot because I can’t reach it with my hand.  The nifty spray nozzle is housed in a twist-lock cap that is easy to press down (for continuous spray) and prevents spills.  No need to worry that the spray nozzle might get clogged, I’ve been using these for the past 2+ years (previously I had a beauty mule bring them back from the UK when she came to visit) and I’ve never had any trouble with messy / clogged nozzles.

I’m going to let you in on another secret (I’m very generous with my secrets today, aren’t I?): Moisturising my body after I have stepped out of the shower is about as high up on my list of ‘Things I Love To Do’ as clipping the dogs’ nails.  And in all honesty, in the past I often skipped that step in my body care routine completely.  I’m too lazy (there’s no point in denying it), just the thought of standing around massaging a body lotion or body butter into my skin makes me feel sleepy.  *snores*

The Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturisers really are a lazy girl’s best defence against dry / ashy skin.  They couldn’t be more convenient or easy to use – simply spray on, rub in and go.  There’s no waiting around for a body cream to sink in before you can put on your clothes.  Huh-uh… *shakes head*  To rub it into the skin, I literally only have to run my hand up and down my leg and that’s it!  These days I’m so much better with applying a moisturiser after I have hopped out of the shower – I don’t know about you, but I definitely don’t want ashy skin this Summer, because it takes no time at all.  The lightweight (yet hydrating) formula gets the Pink Peonies seal of approval, a little goes a long way and you get great coverage with very little product.

There are currently 3 variants of the Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturisers available in South Africa:

♥  Aloe Fresh – infused with pure aloe, which cools and calms the skin (makes for a great after sun spray).  At the moment, this is my favourite scent because it’s light and fresh (perfect for Spring / Summer).

♥  Deep Restore – infused with pure oat extract (Vitamin E) to restore hydration levels in the skin, making it feel soft and supple.  I also love the scent of this one, for me it’s a mix between the ‘Aloe Fresh’ and the ‘Cocoa Butter’ (not too creamy, but not too fresh either).

♥  Cocoa Butter – infused with pure cocoa butter to intensely nourish, and add a natural glow to the skin.  The scent of this one is a bit more indulgent, deliciously rich and creamy (it’s more of a Wintery scent for me personally).

The Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturisers retail for R89,99 each at major retailers nationwide.

Did you know?  These make for GREAT shaving lotions too (tried and tested by yours truly), especially when you’re at the gym or on holiday.  Not only do they help the razor to glide across the skin (no chafing), they also soothe and hydrate the skin – you can shave and moisturise in 1 easy step.  I sometimes struggle with dry underarms (especially during the Summer when I prefer using an anti-perspirant), but ever since I started using my Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturiser in ‘Aloe Soothe’, dry & irritated underarms are a thing of the past!

Have you used the Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturisers?  What would you spend those extra few minutes on?  Feel free to share your thoughts with me in the comments section below.

I remember you blogged about these back in 2014, and when I saw them at Dischem I immediately grabbed the Aloe Fresh one. Its so nice, and I like that the fragrance doesnt interfere with my perfume. :)

    • Luzanne 7 October 2016 / 09:46

I used my Cocoa Butter one last night because my skin was feeling extra dry (and looking a bit ashy) – my skin looks and feels so much better this morning. 😉 xo

  7. portia 30 September 2016 / 10:41

i am def gonna get me the aloe as i cannot use anything highly scented, i have tried the coco butter one but the scent sends my sinus into a frenzy, i like this product simply cause the spray reaches the back with no problem instead of trying to rub it on,

    • Luzanne 7 October 2016 / 09:48

You’re right, the Cocoa Butter one does have the most intense fragrance out of all 3. I’m sure you’ll love the Aloe Fresh one, it’s quite subtle. :)

  8. Camilla | Jane Wonder Blog 30 September 2016 / 11:44

  13. R Fourie 30 September 2016 / 21:14

Never used the spray before but we are using our 3rd big, yellow tub of Vaseline Intensive Care – very effective indeed :-)

    • Luzanne 7 October 2016 / 09:52

Neal likes to use the big tubs – either the fragrance-free one, or the lightly fragranced one. :)

  14. Vanessa 1 October 2016 / 12:45

Awesome can’t wait to get myself a can! Only just seen them advertised! Sound a fabulous and as I suffer from really dry skin and Psoriasis outbreaks this will be fabulous, I don’t really like the feeling of cream on the inside of my hands so sounds perfect for me!

    • Luzanne 7 October 2016 / 09:52

I’m sure you will LOVE these lightweight sprays, Vanessa. :)

  15. Shannin 2 October 2016 / 00:25

I would love to try one of these, just wish there was one with spf.

    • Luzanne 7 October 2016 / 09:53

Hopefully they’ll create one with an SPF soon – what a great idea! :) I’ll send your suggestion on to Vaseline. 😉

  16. Adele 3 October 2016 / 14:18

Your review is so funny, loved reading it!!! Im going to go buy the aloe one. Thank you for the review, I would have never knew about the spray, I also skip the moisturising part because its a schlep.

    • Luzanne 7 October 2016 / 09:54

      Thank you, Adele! :)

Moisturising is such a schlep….but fortunately these sprays make the whole process a lot quicker. 😉

  17. Siobhan Hughes 4 October 2016 / 11:33

I grabbed the Cocoa Glow one when I first saw it in my Dischem – after using it daily, sometimes twice a day, it ran out. But it lasted me a month!
I was pleasantly surprised, as these spray formulas don’t usually have as much product in.

    • Luzanne 7 October 2016 / 09:56

That’s not bad! Mine lasts for about 2 months, but I don’t always use it daily… Still need to get used to the whole moisturising every single day thing. 😉

  18. Simone Cameron 6 October 2016 / 11:43

I do recall seeing these on your blog before and thought I wish I could get my hands on it.

I’ve spotted them and I so much wanted to grab it…but I’ve got so many tubs and bottles of lotion that I don’t use, and I feel bad about it. Lol. This sounds ideal for me though, as I’m super lazy with lotion. Super lazy…as in…It doesn’t happen.

    • Luzanne 7 October 2016 / 09:58

Shew, you’ve been following my blog for a long time! :) Thank you for being so supportive of my blog, Simone – I really appreciate it.

LOL! I used to be the same – but I find the older I get, the quicker my skin gets dry & ashy… So I kinda have to make an effort these days. 😉
