MIY – Banana, Egg, Honey & Milk Face Mask for Combination Skin

As mentioned in my ‘Beauty School – Combination Skin’, combo skin is a mix of oily and dry areas on the face.  This skin type needs a mask that will balance it out.

Here’s what you’ll need for this mask:

♥  1/3 Banana

♥  1 Egg

♥  1 Tsp Honey

♥  1 Tsp Full Cream (Full Fat) Milk or Unsweetened Almond Milk

First pour about half a cup of the milk in a mug and microwave it until it starts to boil.  Remove the mug from the microwave and let it stand for a couple of seconds to cool down.  A milk skin will form on the surface, scoop it up with a teaspoon and keep it aside for the mask recipe.  Enjoy the rest of the milk in a coffee or tea.  Mash the banana in a bowl and add the egg, honey and the teaspoon of milk skin.  Mix together and apply the mixture to your face using clean hands or a brush.  Leave the mask on for about 15 minutes, gently rinse it off with luke warm water and pat your face dry.  Apply a your favourite moisturiser suitable for your skin type.

If the whole idea of using the milk skin freaks you out, you can use a teaspoon of normal unheated milk.  The milk skin just makes for a creamy (less liquidy) ingredient.

Beauty Facts

♥  Bananas contain Vitamin A which helps to restore lost moisture and repairs dull and dry skin.

♥  Egg white will draw out the oils in your skin, while the egg yolk will moisturise dry areas.  Egg whites are also high in natural collagen and vitamin A, therefore is great for large pores, acne and sensitive areas on the face.

♥  Honey helps to clean impurities from the skin and retains moisture to enhance a natural glow.

♥  Milk helps hydrate and exfoliate dry patches.

Go ahead and whip up this facial mask, put on some music and pour yourself a glass of wine – it’s time to treat yourself!

You’re such a smarty pants Luzanne! You have so much knowledge, I definitely look up to you! The mask sounds divine, my skin tends to get less oily, more on the combo side during the winter…so maybe this would be a good mask to try.
