Makeup Tutorial – 1 Eyeshadow Palette & 2 Lip Options

My Go To Makeup Tutorial

Happy Monday!  I’m back with another makeup tutorial – this is my everyday go-to makeup look, and the best part is: I only used 1 eyeshadow palette.  I also show you 2 lip options at the end of the video – 1 wearable lippie, and 1 bold lippie.  Thinking about it now, both options are liquid lipsticks from the drugstore!  So many of you have asked me to feature a couple of liquid lipsticks from the drugstore on the blog, so your requests must have been in the back of my mind when I picked the lip products.

The lighting in this video is a bit all over the place, I filmed it later in the day using natural light (so the sunshine kept changing).  As mentioned here on the blog a while ago – I bought studio lights and have set up a proper filming room, but the artificial light situation is a total nightmare for me at the moment.  I’ve been trying to play around with my camera settings, and the positioning of the lights…but I’m still not 100% happy.  So until I’m completely happy with the footage using studio lights, I’ll be filming during the day again.  I hope you enjoy the video!

Please note: I listed all the makeup brushes I used on the screen while I’m using them.  I also linked to additional review blog posts of some of the products featured in the video, in the ‘Show More’ section of the video.

You can watch my video by clicking on the image below, it will take you through to the video on my YouTube channel.  Please give the video a ‘thumbs up’ if you enjoyed it, and share on your social media platforms if you think it’s something that might interest your friends or family.

Remember to watch in HD (720p) – all you have to do is click on the ‘Settings’ button in the bottom right corner of the video screen and choose 720p.

I posted on the actual video….. really loved this look. That dark colour is so outside of my comfort zone, but I’m digging it!

I’d like to request a concealer ‘how to’ video. Your under eye area is flawless. I just make such a mess with mine. I’m not sure if it’s my products, so would love to see how you do it.

    • Luzanne 5 August 2016 / 11:18

It’s out of my comfort zone too, but it really surprised me the first time I wore it. It’s gorgeous! :)

I’m planning a foundation routine video soon, and will include the concealer section in that video. Thank you for the compliment, Simone.

Thank you so much for featuring a neutral palette that is affordable (when compared to Urban Decay Naked palette). I’ve been debating with myself ; To get the Naked palette or not to get it’ 😉 and now that you have shown how versatile the Stila neutral palette is makes my decision that much easier :) Beautiful look, as always.
    thank you

  16. Marc 9 August 2016 / 16:46

Thorough aas always! Love the flexibility of the look!

I need to ask your advice Luzanne. I am trying to get that natural no makeup look, i have tried Mac face and body but i dont find building it covers anything. I just want those few pimples covered! So i gave up on that route and im now looking for the best BB cream to fit my budget of R200. I use Garnier Pure Active BB now, but i feel like the Clair shade flushes me of my warm tone glow!

What is your recommendation for the best BB cream, in terms of coverage and lasting power?

PS: Any tips of preventing makeup / concealer slipping of a Red pimple? :(

  17. Vanessa 10 September 2016 / 11:35

Beautiful as ALWAYS! More tutorials please, you do always look so beautiful! Natural Beauty added make up – stunner!
