LUSH Valentine’s Day 2015 Collection Haul

LUSH Valentine's Day 2015 Collection

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!  If you don’t have a Valentine this year, don’t stress – I’d much rather be single, than dating some idiot…that’s for sure!  Today I’m going to show you my LUSH Valentine’s Day 2015 Collection loot, because well…it’s Valentine’s Day and fortunately a lot of the items are still available in their online store here (just go click on the ‘Valentine’s Day’ tab).

I didn’t pick up EVERYTHING from the collection because I’m about 2 bath bombs away from appearing on an episode of Hoarders.  It has gotten so bad, sometimes I use a Bubble Bar AND a Bath Bomb in one bath just to get through my stash…  I say that like it’s a bad thing, it’s totally not.  I’ve actually discovered some great combos & might even blog about them at some stage.  I picked up the items that really stood out to me, the items I was most excited about (Unicorn Horn was at the top of my list) and I’m SO happy the Valentine’s Day collection is available online this year, because last year it was only available in-store.  I really hope LUSH’s plans for opening a store in Gauteng is still on track, although Neal and I will probably have to add an extra room to the house.  Or maybe….I should just learn to calm down and only buy LUSH products when necessary.

Who am I kidding?  That aint gonna happen anytime soon – haha!

I’ve only used a Unicorn Horn (I bought 2 and now I want to buy a truck load), the Floating Flower, a few pieces of Love Locket and a few squirts of Prince Charming so far.

LUSH Unicorn Horn Floating Flower

♥  Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar – My new BFF.  The stuff my dreams are made of – this Bubble Bar features rainbows, shimmers, colourful candy stars, and sparkly glitters. This gorgeous thing of beauty turns the bath water into a subtle shade of pink, with silvery micro shimmers floating around – if I didn’t know better, I’d think I was taking a bath with a unicorn!  Lavender, ylang ylang and neroli create a soothing and relaxing fragrance as you surround yourself with mounds of fluffy bubbles.  This Bubble Bar has stolen my heart and I hope it will be part of the Valentine’s Day collection for years to come.  Its scent sister (or brother) is the Christmas Hedgehog Bubble Bar, so if you enjoyed that little guy, you will love this.  Just like all unicorns, no two are alike – each Unicorn Horn is lovingly handmade, so every single one is unique!  Retails for R 45,00 and is still available in the online store (and in-store I would imagine) but not for long, as I’ll be placing another order for these soon.

♥  Floating Flower Bath Bomb – A brand spanking new release in this year’s collection, it floats and fizzes away releasing a sensual jasmine fragrance.  It contains vivid & colourful layers that create a bouquet of pink, orange and green froth on the water (so pretty!).  The way this Bath Bomb bops around the surface of the water, releasing swirls of vibrant foams reminds me a lot of the Granny Takes A Dip Bath Bomb.  Floating Flower shares its sensual scent with Godiva Solid Shampoo and Flying Fox shower gel.  Retails for R 45,50 and is still available in the online store (and in-store I would imagine).

Top Tip:  Some LUSH Bath Bombs contain flower petals and others have secret surprises, but if you prefer not to have these pieces floating in your tub, wrap the Bath Bomb in an old stocking before use.

LUSH Lonely Heart Heart Throb

♥  Lonely Heart Bubble Bar – Crumble this heart under running water and it may just make your heart race a little.  The golden shimmers and vibrant red center will turn your bath water into a lush-ious haven of soft bubbles.  A blend of lemongrass, bergamot, jasmine and ylang ylang will leave your soft skin with a floral, yet zesty scent.  The gold glimmer lustres are safe for the environment and it contains a touch of corn flour to keep skin soft in and out of the tub.  Retails for R 52,50 and is still available in the online store (and in-store I would imagine).

♥  Heart Throb Bubbleroon – This one reminds me of a chubby, heart-shaped macaron as it contains 2 sandwiched layers.  Skin-softening shea butter, ylang ylang and geranium essential oils will turn your bath into a silky-fluffy-bubble-haven while the bright red heart will turn the water into a deep, ruby red shade.  This bubbler shares its delicate floral scent with the African Paradise Body Conditioner to leave skin with a mild floral aroma.   Retails for R 54,50 and is still available in the online store (and in-store I would imagine).

Top Tip:  Twist apart the two halves, now you’ve got enough bubbles for two baths!  Keep the other half snuggled up in a piece of cling film to keep it fresher for longer.

LUSH Love Locket

♥  Love Locket Ballistic – My Love Locket arrived broken unfortunately but all was not lost!  It gave me the opportunity to show you the surprise that is nestled inside.  Apparently if you give it a little shake, you’ll be able to hear there’s a bonus Bath Bomb inside…  Stuff like this turns me into a kid in a candy store!

This thing is huge, probably the size of my two hands side by side.  The outer shell of this bath bomb is packed with paper confetti hearts, they either float to the surface of the bath water or rest at the bottom of the tub…so romantic.  The hearts are apparently edible, although I can’t imagine anyone trying to eat them!  What’s inside this locket?  The inner locket is a baby pink heart packed it red agar seaweed biodegradable hearts.  A sensual blend of vanilla, jasmine and neroli essential oils gives this Ballistic a youthful (almost like sherbert), yet sophisticated scent.  This is the perfect romantic treat, and creates a bath that will leave your skin feeling soft and moisturised with a sugary scent.  Retails for R 85,00 but is not available online anymore – boo!  I would imagine the LUSH stores (Cavendish, V & A Waterfront and Gateway) still have stock.

Top Tip:  You can use each side and the center for 3 separate baths – bonus!

LUSH Prince Charming

♥  Prince Charming Shower Gel – I love the name of this shower gel, it’s just so darn cute!  This pretty pink limited edition shower gel has an uplifting fruity fragrance, thanks to the blend of pomegranate juice, grapefruit oil and fair trade vanilla pod.  It creates a thick & creamy lather and leaves the skin feeling nourished with a lingering fresh & fruity scent.  Retails for R 75,00 (smallest size) but is not available online anymore – boo!  I would imagine the LUSH stores (Cavendish, V & A Waterfront and Gateway) still have stock.

Top Tip:  LUSH shower gels are loaded with fresh, natural ingredients and contain very little water, so a little goes a long way.  They also make for excellent shampoos, try it – you’ll love it!

Take a look at their Valentine’s Day collection here, perhaps you’ll see a gift setThere are other items in the collection too i.e. The Kiss Lip Gloss and a few gift sets too.  You can also check out Tisty Tosty Ballistic, which is part of the permanent range and smells like a bouquet of roses (it also contains rose petals – so romantic).  Also part of the permanent range and very Valentine’s Day-ey is Think Pink Ballistic, it smells like sweet candies (almost like the signature LUSH scent) and contains…wait for it…PINK HEART CONFETTI!  So dreamy…every time I use Think Pink, it instantly perks up my day.

I was pretty miff when I saw my Love Locket arrived broken but then realised it’s actually a good thing, as I got to show everyone what’s inside. It really is a lovely Ballistic, and good value for money as you can use it 3 times. 🙂

I got a few of the unicorn horns and must say i LOVE it! My sister loves it (got her one) and the kids…well I don’t need to tell you. My daughter just comes to the room and goes: Unicorn horn!

If I’m not there, she just helps herself. I want to stock up before they get sold out!

Have recently tried the ocean salt face and body scrub. Have you tried it? I love it!! And also 2 shampoo bars. An orange one that contains Argan oil I think…it smells heavenly! Another spicy one for hair loss that I have yet to try. I lose lots of hair when preggos. I was literally BALD after my son 3 yrs ago 🙁

Love this post….you are the reason for my Lush obsession so anything you post about Lush…I read along with a dreamy look in my eyes. Wish I ordered one of everything!!! Or 7 of everything….. 🙂

    • 20 February 2015 / 12:12

LOL! Wish I had Unicorn Horns around when I was a kid! 😉

I have tried the Ocean Salt scrub and I LOVE it, it smells soooo good and leaves my skin feeling soft. Just don’t get it in your mouth, wowie – it’s extremely salty! Haha! I’m dying to get my hands on the pink sold shampoo bar and the Pearl massage bar (you know me & pink…)

Hectic! I hope you’re not bald this time around… I’ve heard using Bergamot Essence (you can buy at Dis-Chem) also helps for hair loss & hair growth. Just add a few tablespoons to your normal shampoo.

Your comments are the best, thanks for supporting my blog the way you do! 😉

After a super blue Monday, I plan on going home and having a mug of Milo with a bath tonight… Just not sure whether to go for my Unicorn Horn, the heart shaped Bubbleroon or one of my other goodies!

    • 20 February 2015 / 12:15

Aaaah…. I hope your LUSH bath was amazing, Siobhan (although I’m sure it was!!) and your week has gotten better. I had a long week too, busy & stressful and had a LUSH bath on Wednesday night (I used Sex Bomb & Candy Mountain) and instantly felt better. 🙂
