I was so happy to see the LUSH Easter collection online a couple of weeks ago, I even tweeted about it and mentioned it on the Pink Peonies Facebook page. If you’re not following me on these social media platforms already, you totally should because I’m always telling you guys about new products arriving, current promotions / sales etc. I had seen so many international bloggers review a couple of the Easter products, I knew I had to place an order to get my hands them.
I almost ordered one of each of the products, but then tried to narrow it down as my basket (both the Easter one & the online one) was turning out to be a pricey one. I settled for 5 of the 8 Easter goodies, which I thought was a good compromise…
Thinking back now, I probably should have picked up the ‘Golden Egg’ as well but I was a bit hesitant as to how messy the gold shimmers / glitters would be in the bath.
Here’s what I picked up:
Brightside Bubble Bar – Oh. Em. Gee. This is probably my new favourite LUSH scent, which is strange because it has a proper orange / naartjie fragrance and I’m usually not a big fan of a citrus scent (except lemon / lime). My first whiff of this bubble bar was very intoxicating and I knew I was going to love it. It smells like a mix of naartjie and orange flavoured Game (the drink) and turns the bath water into a funky bright orange shade. Such a pity I didn’t order more of these… Retails for R 54,50 each at LUSH and you can probably get about 4 uses out of this little guy if you cut it in quarters.
Immaculate Eggception Yellow Bath Bomb – love the name of this bath bomb! This is a pretty special bath bomb, because there’s another little bath bomb waiting for you inside. The scent of the yellow one is more fruity (thanks to the grapefruit oil and lemon oil), whereas the pink one apparently has a more musky scent. Both turn your bath water into a bright shade of either yellow or pink but the best part comes when you actually crack these babies open because the yellow bath bomb contains a baby bunny inside, and the pink bath bomb contains a baby chick inside. Retails for R 95,00 each at LUSH – yes, definitely a luxurious bath experience but definitely worth it since it only comes once a year.
Bunch Of Carrots Bubble Bars – these little carrots are reusable bubble bars, this means you can swirl each carrot around in your bath water and then leave it to dry for the next time (saving you money and making your LUSH experience last longer). The sherbety blend of buchu, lemon, grapefruit oils and blackcurrant give these carrots a wonderful fizzy tropical scent. Retails for R 80,00 per bunch at LUSH.
Candy Fluff (Fluffy Egg) Ballistic – if you love the LUSH ‘Snow Fairy’ fragrance, then this bath bomb is for you. LUSH knows that ‘Snow Fairy’ is one of their most popular scents and because they love their Lushies so much, they decided to give us another whiff of the scent during the year. Thank goodness we don’t have to wait a whole year for the Christmas range to come back! Fluffy Egg is an adorable pink egg-shaped bath bomb decorated with a beautiful flower. Smelling of candyfloss and bubblegum, definitely a girly scent, it will instantly lift your mood. Once you drop this egg into your bath water, it fizzes and pops whilst releasing the wonderful scent and changing the bath water into a vibrant pink shade. Retails for R 42,50 each at LUSH.
Bunny Bubble Bar – it’s not secret I love bunnies, so obviously I had to pick up this little guy. He’s white, he has little beady eyes and he smells amazeballs – what’s not to love?! I was a teensy bit disappointed because he arrived looking like a zombie-bunny (something out of ‘The Walking Dead’) as his mouth area was completely mangled and crumpled but I still love him nonetheless. This is what LUSH says: “Follow this white rabbit to the bathroom for sweetly scented, skin softening bubbles. With the comforting smell of Fair Trade vanilla absolute, and filled with blue cornflowers to float through the water and surround you in the bath.” Doesn’t that sound heavenly? It also contains extra virgin coconut oil, which puts a huge smile on my face! Retails for R 42,50 each at LUSH.
A lot of these Easter collection products are out of stock online at the moment, but you might still be able to find them in-store.
I am wondering if LUSH will be bringing their Mother’s Day collection to South Africa – I am hoping they will but I’m not exactly sure… I have been checking out some reviews online and I am swooning over ‘Mumkin’, ‘Mum Tulip Bubble Bar’, special edition ‘Rose Bubble Bar’ and ‘Secret Garden Bath Bomb’.
Have you tried any of the Easter collection items? Which one is your favourite?
