LUSH Easter 2014 Collection Haul

I was so happy to see the LUSH Easter collection online a couple of weeks ago, I even tweeted about it and mentioned it on the Pink Peonies Facebook page.  If you’re not following me on these social media platforms already, you totally should because I’m always telling you guys about new products arriving, current promotions / sales etc.  I had seen so many international bloggers review a couple of the Easter products, I knew I had to place an order to get my hands them.

I almost ordered one of each of the products, but then tried to narrow it down as my basket (both the Easter one & the online one) was turning out to be a pricey one.  I settled for 5 of the 8 Easter goodies, which I thought was a good compromise…

Thinking back now, I probably should have picked up the ‘Golden Egg’ as well but I was a bit hesitant as to how messy the gold shimmers / glitters would be in the bath.

Here’s what I picked up:

Brightside Bubble Bar – Oh. Em. Gee.  This is probably my new favourite LUSH scent, which is strange because it has a proper orange / naartjie fragrance and I’m usually not a big fan of a citrus scent (except lemon / lime).  My first whiff of this bubble bar was very intoxicating and I knew I was going to love it.  It smells like a mix of naartjie and orange flavoured Game (the drink) and turns the bath water into a funky bright orange shade.  Such a pity I didn’t order more of these…  Retails for R 54,50 each at LUSH and you can probably get about 4 uses out of this little guy if you cut it in quarters.

Immaculate Eggception Yellow Bath Bomb – love the name of this bath bomb!  This is a pretty special bath bomb, because there’s another little bath bomb waiting for you inside.  The scent of the yellow one is more fruity (thanks to the grapefruit oil and lemon oil), whereas the pink one apparently has a more musky scent.  Both turn your bath water into a bright shade of either yellow or pink but the best part comes when you actually crack these babies open because the yellow bath bomb contains a baby bunny inside, and the pink bath bomb contains a baby chick inside.  Retails for R 95,00 each at LUSH – yes, definitely a luxurious bath experience but definitely worth it since it only comes once a year.

Bunch Of Carrots Bubble Bars – these little carrots are reusable bubble bars, this means you can swirl each carrot around in your bath water and then leave it to dry for the next time (saving you money and making your LUSH experience last longer).  The sherbety blend of buchu, lemon, grapefruit oils and blackcurrant give these carrots a wonderful fizzy tropical scent.  Retails for R 80,00 per bunch at LUSH.

Candy Fluff (Fluffy Egg) Ballistic – if you love the LUSH ‘Snow Fairy’ fragrance, then this bath bomb is for you.  LUSH knows that ‘Snow Fairy’ is one of their most popular scents and because they love their Lushies so much, they decided to give us another whiff of the scent during the year.  Thank goodness we don’t have to wait a whole year for the Christmas range to come back!  Fluffy Egg is an adorable pink egg-shaped bath bomb decorated with a beautiful flower.  Smelling of candyfloss and bubblegum, definitely a girly scent, it will instantly lift your mood.  Once you drop this egg into your bath water, it fizzes and pops whilst releasing the wonderful scent and changing the bath water into a vibrant pink shade.  Retails for R 42,50 each at LUSH.

Bunny Bubble Bar – it’s not secret I love bunnies, so obviously I had to pick up this little guy.  He’s white, he has little beady eyes and he smells amazeballs – what’s not to love?!  I was a teensy bit disappointed because he arrived looking like a zombie-bunny (something out of ‘The Walking Dead’) as his mouth area was completely mangled and crumpled but I still love him nonetheless.  This is what LUSH says: “Follow this white rabbit to the bathroom for sweetly scented, skin softening bubbles. With the comforting smell of Fair Trade vanilla absolute, and filled with blue cornflowers to float through the water and surround you in the bath.”  Doesn’t that sound heavenly?  It also contains extra virgin coconut oil, which puts a huge smile on my face!  Retails for R 42,50 each at LUSH.

A lot of these Easter collection products are out of stock online at the moment, but you might still be able to find them in-store.

I am wondering if LUSH will be bringing their Mother’s Day collection to South Africa – I am hoping they will but I’m not exactly sure…  I have been checking out some reviews online and I am swooning over ‘Mumkin’, ‘Mum Tulip Bubble Bar’, special edition ‘Rose Bubble Bar’ and ‘Secret Garden Bath Bomb’.

Have you tried any of the Easter collection items?  Which one is your favourite?

Such a lovely post yet again 🙂 love the pic of your lush goodies in the basket. I haven’t tried anything Lush. I am waiting for a store to open in Jhb because I want to be able to see what I am buying first hand. Also I have a stash of products that I think I should use up first. It would be nice to see a lush favourites post. Items you recommend for first time users ( I don’t think there is a post like this?) have a great week!

      Thank you, Sam! 🙂

I totally get what you’re saying…fortunately I’ve been to the Cape Town LUSH stores on a couple of occasions so I was able to sniff most of the normal products… Limited edition products are a bit of a hit & miss but I haven’t been disappointed so far.

I will most definitely do a post like that for you and you are right, I haven’t done a post like that on the blog… I might even include a couple of products that didn’t really work for me (and I’ll also explain why they didn’t work for me).

Thank you for leaving such a lovely comment & I hope you have a wonderful week too! x

I have tried the Golden Egg and the shimmers are actually not too bad, much like the Dragon’s Egg actually. 🙂

TI agree – Brightside is such an amazing smell, I love it. I couldn’t hold myself back and bought one of each but in the end buying both Immaculate Eggception bath bombs was a waste (so pricey).

    Love your photo, Luzanne.

Ah great! So glad to hear the shimmers are not too hectic, will definitely pick it up next year then. 🙂

      Thank you, Estee! 🙂

I’m pretty excited for Easter too, but probably because I know we’re going away for the long weekend. 🙂

Better get to a store fast, Clara…you don’t want to get there and there’s nothing left for you. I promise, you’ll want to get your hands on a couple of these – they’re wonderful. x

I didn’t see any of the bunnies in the stores. They are so cute! Love the photo as well XXX

The bunny is definitely one of my faves from the range, even if he did arrive a bit zombified… 😉

Thank you for leaving a comment, Charlene. x

We have the Mother’s Day products here in the UK and they are so lush (excuse the pun hehe!).

I only tried the Bunny Bubble Bar and Bunch Of Carrots because I love a good bubble bath.

Really enjoyed this post, Luzanne. 😀

Aaaaah, you are so lucky!! I don’t think we’ll be getting the Mother’s Day stock…which will be such a shame! I’m not a mother, but I’ll buy all the products for myself! Haha! My mom prefers to shower, so I wouldn’t even be able to get a couple of the bath bombs / bubble bars for her…

      Thank you, Alissa. 🙂

Oh no, now you have me wishing I had ordered a bunch of carrots online…and some other things too. Just a pity shipping is so expensive, because we will definitely never get a Lush store here in Bloemies… 🙁

    • Luzanne
      14 April 2014 / 19:11

Yes, I agree… Next time I order from LUSH, I’ll definitely be ordering with a friend so that we can split the delivery fee.

I really hope LUSH comes to Johannesburg / Pretoria soon…I’ll be in that shop every single weekend! 😀

So this weekend i wanted to pick up a few Lush goodies so i go to the small that has a Lush store just to find out they are closed….REALLY!!??? LOL and i do not like ordering stuff online. So yes right now I am so jelly of your post lol

    • Luzanne
      14 April 2014 / 19:09

Closed!? Why on earth would they be closed on a weekend nogals?

I have to be honest, I am terrible with returning things to their place after I’ve taken photos for the blog. So the LUSH goodies are chilling on our dining room table and that section of the house smells amazing!!

Why don’t you like ordering online? I’m sure delivery is a lot more affordable and reliable in the states than over here… 🙂

  10. 14 April 2014 / 21:36

OMG! You got some amazing things! Everything is SO cute, I don’t think I’d want to use any of it up! Good think the carrots are reusable.

I’m sorry your bunny was mangled…!
That’s it, I am placing an order with Lush soon, I don’t think I can take it anymore! Haha!

    Thanks for sharing!

PS – Have you done a post of all of your all time Lush faves? You so should if you havne’t, I’d love to read your reviews on your must haves from them, so I could have an idea of what to purchase. Hehe!

      22 April 2014 / 08:57

I’m definitely finding it hard to even think of using the carrots and the little bunny – eeep! 😛

I will definitely do a post like that soon, I’m actually getting pretty excited for it because 1. it means I’ll have to stock up on my favourite products so that I can take photos of them (tee-hee-hee) and 2. I just love writing about LUSH products. 😉

Thank you for always leaving such lovely comments on my blog, Lily! xx

      22 April 2014 / 08:49

So true, Neal knows when we enter a LUSH store that he should just go sit down somewhere because it’s going to be a while before we leave the store again.

Thank you for popping by the blog, Abby! x

      22 April 2014 / 08:58

Yes – I’ll be a bit sad to drop that little bunny in the bath, but I’ll just pinch my eyes shut and gently slide it into the bath water. 😉
