The finish line is in sight, we just completed Week 3 of the Kiehl’s #ChangeYourSkin challenge, and the 20th of July will be the last day of the challenge. It has been fun, and I have noticed some major differences in the moisture levels and tone of my skin. The #FABFour have been testing the the Dermatologist Solutions Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate, the Dermatologist Solutions Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, and the Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I personally haven’t seen much of a difference in my skin in terms of my hyperpigmentation, but I imagine it’s too soon to tell anyway. As with all my previous weekly update blog posts, there’s a surprise giveaway waiting for you at the end of the blog post. It’s probably not much of a surprise, though, because it does say ‘GIVEAWAY’ quite loud & clear in the blog post title.
I hope you’ve been enjoying our weekly updates, I’ve enjoyed compiling them & giving back to my readers in the form of a hamper prize here and there. The #FABFour updates for Week 3 are as follows:
Luzanne Ashby (32) says:
“I honestly don’t have much of an update on my side, as my skin has been exactly the same as last week. It’s feeling plump, smooth and wonderfully moisturised. In terms of lightening of dark marks and hyperpigmentation, I haven’t noticed much of a difference but my complexion does look brighter and more radiant as the weeks have progressed.
I still adore the ‘bursting’ sensation of the Dermatologist Solutions Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate when I apply it, it’s like an instant hydrating pick-me-up for my skin. During the cold & dry Winter months in previous years, my skin used to feel tight and dehydrated (even after cleansing). This year, though, my skin feels soothed and I hardly have any dry patches thanks to this water-based serum.
I forgot to mention in my Week 1 update that I started applying the Dermatologist Solutions Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate to my lips at night before I go to bed. I have noticed a big difference as the weeks have passed – my lips are more hydrated, plus I haven’t used a lip scrub in 2 weeks (usually I give my lips a good scrub every day).
Applying the Midnight Recovery Concentrate facial oil on freshly cleansed skin is the best feeling in the world, it glides over the skin and absorbs within a couple of minutes. As mentioned in my previous blog post, I find the scent very relaxing and it is the perfect pre-bedtime treat. I sometimes apply a few drops to my cuticles, mainly for 2 reasons: 1. The oil nourishes my dry cuticles, and 2. I’m someone who sleeps with my hands close to my face, and the subtle lavender fragrance on my fingers helps me to drift off to sleep. If you’re an insomniac like I am at the moment, you know you’ll try anything to fall asleep.
A little goes a long way with all 3 products, and I’m very impressed by how much product I still have left. The Dermatologist Solutions Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution and Midnight Recovery Concentrate will last you for absolute ages, well worth the money in my opinion.
I’m hoping to see a more noticeable difference in the dark spots / hyperpigmentation areas on my face, let’s hold thumbs for my Week 4 update next week.”
Cicilia Kaufmann (50) says:
“I had a couple of spots this week, and at 50, it’s not something I am used to but they cleared up very quickly.
The overall texture and feel of my skin is very smooth. The feeling of dryness / tight skin is a thing of the past and I am very happy about that.
These are the first products that I have been able to use without feeling the need to reapply during the day.
My skin seems less dull and definitely looking brighter overall.
Super impressed about how little one needs to use.”
Lee-Anne Geldenhuys (27) says:
“My skin feels SO SOFT. I’m getting loads of compliments, my make up application is a dream, I haven’t had any dry patches in ages.
Thanks to the Midnight Recovery Concentrate I wake up every morning glowing. I also had quite a few late nights the last while – functions and raging insomnia, and I’m pretty sure the Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate and the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solutions are the reason I don’t look like death warmed up.
Overall I’m very happy. This challenge has forced me into a much more structured skincare routine, for which I’m very grateful. As is my face! ”
Simone Cameron (34) says:
“I can’t say there’s a huge difference between this week and last week. My skin still feels great, hydrated and softer. My favourite product so far is the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution. I just love how lightweight it feels on my skin and it leaves no residue. I just imagine it’s working to brighten my skin and lighten my blemishes from the second I put it on.
Last week I realised I had not been suffering from breakouts in the 2 weeks on the challenge, but alas, Murphy was lurking and decided to pay me visit. I got one awful spot on the side of my face on Friday. It was seriously painful, red and inflamed. Friday night I could not even sleep on that side of my face. I used my Kiehl’s products and a spot treatment gel and I must say I feel the spot healed super fast. By the next day the redness was gone, it wasn’t sore and it’s on a path to healing.
I am not sure if I can credit this to the Kiehl’s products, but I have used this spot treatment before and I don’t remember it working so fast. If this is one of the benefits of the Kiehl’s line, that spots progress faster and as a result, heal faster, then I am really impressed.
I must add, one spot really is still nothing compared to what I’ve been dealing with during the last few months, so again, this in itself if a big plus for me! I’d love to hear if any other ladies that usually suffer with breakouts have had the same experience.”
I’ve managed to organise another Kiehl’s hamper containing all THREE of the above mentioned products – the hamper is worth R 1995,00.
