We just completed Week 2 of the Kiehl’s #ChangeYourSkin challenge, and the #FABFour have been hydrating, correcting and nourishing for the past 14 days using 3 stellar Kiehl’s skin care products. We have been applying the Dermatologist Solutions Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution morning and night, the Dermatologist Solutions Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate morning and night, and the Midnight Recovery Concentrate only in the evenings. My skin is loving the hydration and nourishment the Kiehl’s products have provided these past few days. Is it just me, or is Winter a killer this year?
As with my previous update blog post, make sure you read ’till the very end of this blog post because there’s a surprise waiting for you…
Here are our updates for Week 2:
Simone Cameron (34) says:
“I definitely think the texture of my skin has improved tremendously, it feels hydrated and healthy. I literally wake up at night to stroke my face…lol. It’s so soft. I also think my skin tone appears more even and less blotchy. A bonus for this is that my make up application has been easier. My BB cream goes on smoother and my make up just looks better now.
The lines around my eyes also seem to have improved slightly. I don’t think I battle with lines, but to me there are fine lines below my eyes that I am noticing and they look a bit better now.
Also quite impressed with how much of the products I still have left after 2 weeks. The price tag may seem high to some, but I think you get bang for your buck due to how little of the products you use at a time.
All in all still loving my products and looking forward to seeing what the next 2 weeks bring!”
Luzanne Ashby (32) says:
“This week the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate (MRC) really made a massive difference in the overall plumpness and texture of my skin. As mentioned previously, I feel like this year Winter has been colder and much more harsh on my skin. This product is your best bet to achieving a youthful glow this season.
MRC is a facial oil consisting of a blend of both botanical and essential oils – relaxing lavender oil, calming evening primrose oil, anti-inflammatory rosemary oil, amongst other oils. I love the soothing scent, it really does help me drift off to the land of nod in no time at all. MRC not only restores moisture levels after a good night’s rest, but also gives a healthy-looking glow to the skin. After a few hours’ kip my skin is left feeling and looking fresh, radiant and smooth. During the cold Winter months I always struggle with redness around my nose and flakiness on my forehead. Both the flakies and redness have subsided and I look very well rested.
The oil itself is quite thin, and once applied to the skin it absorbs fairly quickly. Remember, whenever you use a facial oil, to apply it about 10 to 15 minutes before you go to bed. This ensures it will not be absorbed by your bed sheets, which means you get the most out of your skin care product.
A little goes a long way, and I feel if I apply more than 4 drops (to face and neck) in one sitting, my skin looks a bit too glowy for my liking. I have used the MRC consistently every night and I can’t see that the quantity level of the oil in the bottle has decreased all that much. The 30ml bottle will last anyone for absolute ages.
My face doesn’t feel tight or itchy (usually an issue for me during the harsh Winter months), it feels plump, hydrated and nourished. Again, the best way to describe the feeling is ‘comfortable’. MRC is 99.8% naturally derived and paraben-free, which is always an added bonus.
I’m very thankful for Midnight Recovery Concentrate these past few weeks, I honestly don’t know what my skin would look and feel like without it.”
Cicilia Kaufmann (50) says:
“Over the past week I am very happy to report that 3 dark marks have almost disappeared. I am not sure what they were to start with almost look like a flattish moles, raised surface. I have had them forever and they are almost gone, super happy about that. I wish I had taken a close up of them. I am not sure which product to thank but I have an idea it is the Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate or the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution.
My skins hydration levels are so much better. Usually my skin is very dehydrated and I drink far too much tea. I don’t feel the need to constantly apply more products as I did before the Kiehl’s 28-day #ChangeYourSkin challenge.
I have found these three products nourishing enough for my skin but I still apply my eye cream and moisturiser’s morning and evening more out of habit.”
Lee-Anne Geldenhuys (27) says:
“So week two, and I’m super happy. As a whole my skin feels soft, smooth, and plump – the texture and clarity is amazing and I’m excited to see such a noticeable difference in such a short time.
After reading last week’s updates, I really focused on the Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate, since quite a few people had mentioned the ‘bursting’ technology in it – I really focus on massaging that into problem areas that are prone to dehydration. It’s such a lovely texture and so the minute or so that I spend doing that every day is such a treat.
I’m not sure if it’s actually happening or if it’s just because I’m scrutinizing it every day with desperate hopes that it’s working, but it seems that my pigmentation marks have actually gotten a bit darker – having spoken to facialists and read up about this a bit before the challenge started, I assume this is a very good sign. That it gets darker as it gets closer to the surface or some such – basically that it gets worse before it gets better. So that’s super exciting! The Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution has definitely been the star of the show for me.”
I’ve managed to organise another Kiehl’s hamper containing all THREE the above mentioned products.
