I am very happy to be writing this blog post because the March I Love You Box from Elephantshoe was a winner! If you would like to check out my last blog post on this subscription box (where I was quite disappointed), take a look here. And if you don’t know what the I Love You Box is, then pop over to this blog post where I explain everything.
I’m just going to jump right in to showing you what I received in the March edition, because I’m too excited to write along intro. Let’s take a look, shall we?
I bet the first item you spotted was the wooden spoon? This means the theme for the March box is a kitchen or foodie theme. I must admit, when I saw the wooden spoon and apron, I was quite giddy with excitement and thought: “Now THIS is value for money!”
Let’s start with the wooden spoon then, I personally think this beautiful spoon that reads ‘Made With Love’ is just too cute to actually use in the kitchen. So, I’ve decided it will be the ‘pretty spoon’ in my collection of wooden spoons that live in my turquoise Le Creuset utensil holder. You could always give this spoon away with a Rocky Road Brownie Mix Bottle from La Coco C as a gift to a friend who loves to bake – I would love a gift like that!
I first came across La Coco C and their amazing bottled cookie & brownie mixes at Kamersvol Geskenke a couple of years ago. This is the perfect gift for a girlfriend who loves to experiment & bake, but finds all that measuring to be a bit of drag. Here’s a list of my favourites mixes: Red Velvet Brownie Mix, Cranberry & White Choc Cookie Mix, Chilli Brownie Mix and they even have a Gluten Free Brownie Mix! La Coco C has a page dedicated to all their suppliers on the website – there is one Spar in Centurion that stocks these wonderful bottles of happiness & an online store called The Produce Pantry (as well as a long list of other suppliers all over South Africa). The bottles retail for R 100,00 (not bad considering a bottle produces between 16 and 20 brownies / between 30 and 34 cookies).
Back to the contents of the box, the next item that caught my eye was the stack of recipe cards (in size A5). The box contains 6 quality cardstock recipe cards with a stunning embossed design, check it out below. I really hope these recipe cards will be available for purchase in the Elephantshoe online store, as I think quite a number of people would want to add to the little stack.
There’s something about an embossed card or wedding invitation that just screams quality and luxuriousness – embossing is what sets your stationery apart in my humble opinion. Elephantshoe was spot-on with embossing 2 of the items in this month’s box!
We also received an utterly fabulous apron, and to be honest, this item MADE the box for me. The apron is made from quality cotton and contains a front pocket, an adjustable neck strap, 2 long side ties and a beautiful print on the front that reads ‘Love Lives Here’. I own quite a few aprons (cupcakes, polka dots, bambi prints, you name it) but this one is my new favourite!
Last, but certainly not least, I also received a pack of 5 embossed gift tags that read: ‘From My Kitchen’ and ‘Made With Love’. These tags are perfect for when you have baked too many cookies or rusks & you decide to gift a dozen to a friend or family member. Pop the cookies in a brown paper bag, use your favourite washi tape to seal the bag and write a little note on 1 of these tags – super simple, and yet it will look like you put a lot of effort into it!
Check out the perfect embossed design below:
Seeing this box has really made me excited for the next ‘I Love You Box’, I placed my order for the April box a couple of days ago and now I’m literally counting down the days till I receive the next one. What do you think of this month’s box? Do you think it’s worth the R 250,00 price tag? I most certainly do!
