Yep, another late-ish blog post but if you guys knew how busy I have been the last couple of weeks with work (I do have a full-time job), events, my Dove meetup, giveaways, then you would totally understand why there are a couple of ‘late-comer’ blog posts. One of my blog readers were kind enough to say they actually like late monthly blog posts – so this one’s for you, Carolyn (even though it’s not a monthly favourites)!
If you would like to learn more about what this I Love You Box is and where you can order it from, then head on over to this blog post.
My April I Love You Box arrived a couple of weeks ago and the theme for this box was definitely personalised. Elephantshoe named this box the ‘Personalised Polka Dot’ box. Let’s take a look at what I received in this I Love You Box, shall we?
The first thing I noticed upon opening the box was a smaller box that contained the below personalised maple wood monogram stamp, as well as a bright pink ink pad (this shade is called Orchid, similar to the Pantone Colour of the Year 2014, but a bit more pink). You guys know pink is my favourite colour, so I was super happy to see the contents of the little box.
The stamped image measures about 3,5cm which means it’s a nice size for stamping envelopes, gift tags, or even gift bags.
We also received 4 white personalised note cards (with my monogram at the top of the card and my name at the bottom), 2 of which were printed in black and 2 were printed in a vibrant pink shade (almost fuchsia).
No greeting card is complete without an envelope – it’s like cheese & wine, Buffy & Angel, peanut butter & jelly, Elizabeth & Mr. Darcy…you catch my drift, I’m sure. So, we also received 4 large square envelopes with large and small pink & black polka dot printed liners.
Next up were 4 personalised gift tags with ribbon. These are perfect to attach to a gift, a bag of homemade cookies, or a bouquet of flowers – I’m personally a big fan of gift tags, they’re easy to attach to a gift and doesn’t require a lot of thought in terms of the message you want to write as there is limited space. I know it probably sounds terrible, but I would rather get to the point on a gift tag by saying ‘Happy Birthday – I hope you have a wonderful day!’ rather than having to write a long paragraph basically saying the same thing just to fill up a greeting card. Wow, that makes me sound terribly lazy…
Last but not least, we received 4 polka dot black & pink paper bags, one pair for smaller gifts and the other for gifts that need to stand up. Gift bags are so handy when you need to wrap a gift in a rush – pop the gift in the bag, close with washi tape (or sellotape) and add your gift tag.
Overall I’m quite happy with the April box we received – I can now use this monogram stamp plus the heart stamp I received in the February I Love You Box and create my own printed wrapping paper.
I have actually already received my May 2014 I Love You Box (it arrived this past week), so I will try to have that blog post up for you guys before the end of May. Here’s a teaser on 1 of the things I received in the May box: I come in many shapes, sizes and colours. I stick to many surfaces but I am, in fact, not sticky at all…what am I? Leave you answer in the comment section below, I’m intrigued to know whether you guys know what I’m talking about.
