How Much Is My Face Worth Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Lily to do this interesting tag.  When I first saw the name of this tag, I was like:  “What do you mean what is my face worth!?  Chick, I haven’t had any cosmetic surgery done!!”  But then when I read further, I understood what it meant.  Basically all you have to do is show what makeup you apply to your face on any regular day, add up the prices of the makeup products and show everyone the total.  I was quite shocked when I got to the end of Lily’s blog post and saw the total!  To see what her total was, check out her blog post over here.

I tag anyone who would like to do this tag blog post!

I’ll go in order of application.  Eeep!  Here goes…

1.  Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Primer – R 350,00

This is a greta post. Show us just how we really do spend on beauty products! Love your blog! So going to do this post.

    • 11 November 2013 / 15:44

Exactly, I was really surprised to see how much money I’ve spent on makeup (even if this is just the tip of the iceberg!).

Let me know when your post is on your blog, I’d love to go check it out! 🙂

  2. 11 November 2013 / 10:29

Haha the other night I was going through my regular cleanse, tone, night cream, serum ritual and worked out that it costs just over R5000.

Never thought to add up what that plus my regular make-up routine is worth. I think I would be far too shocked. Fortunately as beauty bloggers we only pay for a fraction of our products which is a blessing.

    • 11 November 2013 / 15:45

Oh my gosh!! Hahaha! That is INSANE!

Thanks so much for commenting, Abby! x

  3. 11 November 2013 / 10:37

    haha that’s insane!!!
    But so interesting!

    • 11 November 2013 / 15:46

Yep, I couldn’t believe it was even over R 2000!

Thank you for checking out my blog post & commenting, Johlet! x

I will definitely faint when I work mine out… You should also do a day/night one with the cleanser, toner, serum, moisturiser, eye-cream, etc that you use!

    • 11 November 2013 / 15:47

I think I should do what you suggested! Although, I use different products every other day for my skincare routine, so it’s going to work out to A LOT of money. Eeeek!

It was so lovely to meet you this past weekend, Camilla! 🙂

I don’t know what my total would be but I am guessing it will be around the R 1k mark. I don’t use alot of makeup on my face, maybe it won’t even be R 1k.

I do spend most of my money on skin care products becoz I think it is important to look after your skin. Especially when you have sensitive skin like I do.

Interesting post, Luzanne. I really liked it.

    • 11 November 2013 / 23:30

I agree with you, Ronel, rather spend the money on good skincare products. It’s like an investment into the future of your skin. 🙂

Thank you for commenting, Ronel! x

I would love to do this just for the entertainment factor! 🙂

    • 11 November 2013 / 23:23

Hahah! You should totally do it, Bronwyn! I would LOVE to see what your total is! 😀

  7. 12 November 2013 / 01:35

Eeeek, I would faint too! 😀

I love seeing these tags, it really is an eye opener!
When I asked my husband if he wanted to know the total, he said, “stop, I don’t even want to know.” Bahahahaha!

    I laughed so much!

So glad you go around to doing this!

    xoxox, Lily

    • 12 November 2013 / 08:43

Definitely an eye opener for me, Lily!

LOL! Hahahaha! Neal is REALLY good at guessing things (I think that’s his super power), so he’d probably say the right number before I could even tell him… And after he says the number, will he actually think how high it is! Haha!

I still have a few other tags to do, will slowly but surely get round to them. 🙂 x

      Pleasure, Ambi! 🙂

I nearly fainted when I got to the till and my Bobbi Brown goodies were R2000. Eeeek! Although that R2000 divided over may months of use is okay but I also spend a lot on skincare (because of the industry I am in). Another cray time was when my sisters and sister in law came along to MAC Rosebank with me , they were picking things like crazy and were pretty shocked when they got to the till. I know it was like R3500 on average per a person. Crazy! Great post!

    • 12 November 2013 / 12:27

It’s so crazy how we can spend so much money on something we wash off every single day – haha!

The most I’ve spent at MAC in one go was about R 1600 – it was insane for me! Now I try to do smallish shopping trips every time – it’s all in the head, I know! 😛

OMG!! Pleeeeeeease tell me where you bought the Mary-Lou Manizer? I want it so bad

    • 19 November 2013 / 21:16

Hi Lize! 🙂 I bought mine off – they had her on sale a couple of months ago for R290! Plus they have free international shipping and duties weren’t bad either – like R 30!

  15. 20 November 2013 / 16:48

Hi there! Where do you order your Urban Decay products from? I am itching to get some!!

    • 21 November 2013 / 16:10

I ordered mine off Beauty Bay ( but I must warn you, the duties are quite steep once the parcel arrives in SA. I paid around R 250 in duties. BUT the palettes are such incredible quality, I’m happy to pay it. I’m most definitely getting the Naked 3 palette as soon as it’s available on Beauty Bay. 🙂

      • 22 November 2013 / 10:45

Thank you so much – I am eagerly watching out for the Naked3 Palette too! xx

        • 22 November 2013 / 13:16
