CATRICE Pulse Of Purism Limited Edition Collection

CATRICE Pulse Of Purism

Howdy, stranger!  It’s been a while, hasn’t it?  I’m not going to bore you with all the details of my life lately, but just know that I haven’t NOT been blogging because I’m a lazy old hag.  I’ve been struggling with a number of things in my personal life for the last few months, and it all came to a point where I just had to take a step back.  I’m not all better, but I’m hoping getting back to my usual routine of blogging (and social media posting) will be good for me.  So please bear with me while I try to get back into the swing of things.

I feel like Pink Peonies needs a bit of a revamp – I like to change the ‘look & feel’ of my blog on an annual basis towards the beginning of each year.  I think it’s time!  I’ve already found a new blog template that I really like, so this weekend I’ll be spending giving Pink Peonies blog a little makeover.

Oh!  I’ll also pop in to Dis-Chem because the new CATRICE Pulse Of Purism limited edition collection will be hitting the shelves this weekend.  I want to get my hands on some of the collection items in order to do a ‘Review, Swatches & Makeup Look’ blog post for you next week (similar to this one).  Speaking of which, I’ll also be posting the same type blog post for the essence Lights Of Orient collection towards the beginning of next week (I have most of the items in the collection ready to be swatched and slapped all over my face).

For today’s blog post I’ll be providing you with a bit of information on each of the collection items – just so that you know what’s coming & can make a list of products you might want to pick up while you’re at the shops.  I think I’ll do that from now on – post a generic blog post of all future collections first, and then a couple of days later I’ll do a proper review of the actual products that I managed to get my hands on.

What CATRICE says about the collection: “Subtle Elegance.  Pure sophistication as a statement.  The limited edition Pulse of Purism by CATRICE unites subtlety with unobtrusive luxury.  The palette of colours combines greyish shades with cool blue and elegant mauve with a fresh hibiscus tone.  The highlight of the edition is the ‘Pure Radiance Glowrizer’, which gives the complexion an elegant glow.  Nails are given an edgy finish with the ‘Brushed Metal’ top coat or golden nail stripe decals.”

This limited edition collection reminds me so much for the CATRICE Kaviar Gauche collection (review) and the CATRICE Lumination collection (review), it must be the luxe gold packaging and pearl accents…I must say, so far I’m a fan!

CATRICE Pulse Of Purism Eyeshadow Palettes

Pulse of Purism Pure Metal Palette | R94,95 each

Each palette contains 3 baked eyeshadows with a metallic finish.  The first palette called ‘MEtal, Myself and I’ features a champagne, a silvery turquoise and a copper eyeshadow.  The second trio palette called ‘By All Means MetalEYES’ contains a pearlescent white, a molten taupe and bronze eyeshadow.  The silky, smooth eyeshadow texture glides onto the lids effortlessly and can be applied wet or dry.

CATRICE Pulse Of Purism Brow Pomade Stick

Pulse of Purism Brow Pomade Stick | R69,95

The practical Brow Pomade Stick can be used to contour, fill or set the brows in place.  The creamy texture in an ashy brown tone suits most skin tones and hair colours.  In addition to filling and setting the brows in place with the Brow Pomade Stick, softly contours the brow hairs with a light powder to make them stand out even more.   The light, subtle contour gives the brows added definition for a perfectly framed face.

CATRICE Pulse Of Purism Pure Hibiscocoon 2Tone Lipstick

Pulse of Purism 2-Tone Lipstick | R79,95

The two-tone lipstick called ‘Pure Hibiscocoon’ features a shimmery centre that offers soft colour distribution with a glossy finish.  The glossy finish of the 2-tone lipstick automatically makes lips look fuller.

CATRICE Pulse Of Purism Pure Radiance Glowrizer

Pulse of Purism Pure Radiance Glowrizer | R99,95

This luminous primer provides a subtle, radiant glow and evens out skin tone with light-reflecting gel-pearls.  The dispenser gently crushes the pearls during the pumping process and turns them into an innovative, smooth texture.  The primer can either be worn solo or underneath foundation, and if applied the fingers, one’s body heat helps the texture melt into the skin.

CATRICE Pulse Of Purism Pure Hibiscocoon Blush

Pulse of Purism Powder Blush | R79,95

The blush called ‘Pure Hibiscocoon’ has a silky powder texture that emphasises the cheekbones with a bright coral pink flush of colour.  The vivid shade brightens up the complexion for a fresh-faced makeup look.

CATRICE Pulse Of Purism Nail Lacquer

Pulse of Purism Nail Lacquer | R59,95 each

The nail lacquers are available in 3 trendy colours and stand out for their longlasting, intense pigmentation and perfect shine.

Pulse of Purism Top Coat | R59,95

This special top coat dries matte and the brush features hard bristles to create a unique ‘Brushed Metal’ look.  The polish can either be applied on top of any colour nail polish or solo on the natural nail.

CATRICE Pulse Of Purism Nail Stripes

Pulse of Purism Nail Stripes | R59,95

Nail stripes, a trend accessory, bring an elegant and intricate design onto the nails.  The golden foil is self-adhesive and can be applied on clear or colour nail polishes as well as directly on the natural nail.

As mentioned earlier in the blog post, the limited edition Pulse Of Purism collection by CATRICE will be available at Dis-Chem from this weekend (1 April 2017).  Remember, if you don’t see it on the stand this weekend – don’t worry, it’s probably still on its way to your store.

So, tell me…

Hi Melissa! 🙂 I know, right!? I feel like both essence and CATRICE are hitting the ball out of the park with their limited edition collections – I get more excited for their collections than I do for MAC ones.

Don’t worry – I’m still shy! When I first started blogging in 2013, I never thought that I would post makeup photos of myself on the blog or social media but my confidence came with time because I eventually started seeing my readers are friends (and not really strangers). So I started feeling more comfortable with putting myself out there.

Natural light will always be the most flattering when it comes to taking makeup photos. These days I use studio lights because I can’t handle how inconsistent natural lighting can be, but I will always prefer natural light. Stand close to a bright window but not direct sunlight, and just start taking photos. No jokes, I sometimes end up with 50 photos just so get that one that I’m happy with. It just takes time and practice, and don’t take yourself too seriously. 😉

Those nail polishes look bomb, but I don’t think I’ll like that brushed metal one that much. I prefer normal creme nail polishes. 🙂

    • Luzanne
      3 April 2017 / 13:23

Yeah, I’m also not that keen on the brushed metal nail polish – but might pick up one of the other ones…

I visited 2 Dis-Chem stores this past Saturday and they didn’t have stock of the collection yet. I’ll be going again on Wednesday because one of the ladies who work at the beauty section said they usually get CATRICE stock on a Monday & Tuesday. 🙂 xo

Welcome back, girl..we’ve missed your posts! 🙂

I can’t go to Dischem tomorrow (family stuff to attend to) but I will be going on Sunday to take a look at the collection. But so far I can see myself loving the ‘Metal, Myself and I’ palette and that stunning bright coral blush.

I hope you have a great weekend, Luzanne. Enjoy giving your blog a makeover, I don’t know how you do it tbh. I am very technologically challenged. 😉
