I like following blogs and I’m always looking forward to reading new blog posts from the beauty bloggers I follow. I was, however, so technologically inept, that I used to make a list of my favourite bloggers and every single day I would go onto all of their blogs to see whether a new post had been loaded. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still quite a newbie in the whole blog-technology-stuff but I like to think I’ve learnt a few things along the way. I have, however, discovered Bloglovin’ (well to be honest, I discovered it a while ago) and it makes life a whole lot easier (for readers / followers of blogs).
Google Reader has been discontinued (I’m not particularly heart-broken since I never used it). Bloglovin’ is a platform where you are able to follow all you favourite blogs and view all the new posts as they are published. What I love about Bloglovin’ is that you receive an email every morning containing your ‘New Blog Posts For The Day’. Plus it also comes with an iPhone app. If you would like read up a bit more on Bloglovin’, Paige wrote a great blog post on the subject.
As a blogger, it also makes life quite a bit easier for you. You are able to ‘claim’ your blog and see how many people have subscribed to your blog. You are also able to edit your blog info and link your Facebook page to the blog (every time you load a new blog post, it will be published to your Facebook account as well).
So a little plea from me to you – come follow me on Bloglovin’ here or subscribe to my blog using the box on the right under ‘Email Subscription’.
For Bloglovin’ simply set up an account (all you need is an email address) and follow all the blogs you want… just make sure Pink Peonies is one of them. To search for certain blogs, I have found the easiest is to copy the blog URL and paste into the ‘Search blogs’ box at the top right-hand corner of the page. Trust me, it’s super easy to use (must be, because I’m using it).
For the ‘Email Subscription’ on my blog, just add your email address and after clicking on the ‘Subscribe’ button, you will receive an email to activate the subscription. After your subscription has been activated, you will receive an email every time I publish a new blog post.
I also have a Facebook page for my blog here, where I post nail and hair inspiration photos, information on current beauty sales / promotions etc.
Big thank you to Chicara for helping me set up the email subscription widget!
