I first saw this reusable Bubble Bar in Zoella’s ‘Huge LUSH Haul’ video (which by the way is almost at 2 MILLION views in under 2 months). My heart literally skipped a beat when Zoe unwrapped the LUSH Drummers Drumming Reusable Bubble Bar – the colours are just so bright and cheerful. Granted, it doesn’t feature your traditional Christmas colours but I find it to be very jolly nonetheless.
LUSH likes to tease us with limited edition reusable Bubble Bars (like Tulip Mum & Madame Butterfly for Mother’s Day, Bunch Of Carrots for Easter and Magic Wand for Christmas) and this year LUSH added Drummers Drumming to the Christmas 2014 range. This one is quite special because it features not only a new design, but also a different scent and jingling bells.
The name of this Bubble Bar plays homage to the famous ’12 Days of Christmas’ song, so obviously I just had to include it in my ’12 Days Of LUSHmas’ series here on the blog. If you are not familiar with reusable Bubble Bars, then you’re in for a treat! They are designed to be used across multiple baths, all you have to do is swish the bar around in your bath water or hold under the running tap to produce mounds of LUSH-ious bubble. Store the bar on a ventilated soap dish or upright in a plastic container to dry & reuse again.
Drummers Drumming apparently has the same scent as Strawberry Feels Forever Massage Bar, I haven’t had the pleasure of using the massage bar but after experiencing the decadent strawberries & cream aroma of Drummers Drumming, I now HAVE TO get my hands on Strawberry Feels Forever Massage Bar too. The aroma isn’t your cheap ol’ average type strawberries & cream scent – oh no, this festive treat gives off a rich and very mature take on the strawberries and cream fragrance. This Bubble Bar contains uplifting bergamot oil, relaxing olibanum oil and balancing geranium oil – I would describe the scent as wonderful mix of both sweet, woody and fruity.
I usually swish these reusable Bubble Bars around in the bath water for just over a minute, I find this creates the most bubbles (as compared to just holding it under the running tap). Dummers Drumming doesn’t really change the colour of the bath water too much (it gives it a slight yellowy-orange tinge) but it does create fragrant light & fluffy bubbles that last for the duration of the bath.
If you’re scared the bubble wands will break whilst swishing it around the water, don’t worry – the mixture is a bit more durable than the normal Bubble Bars. While the stick does look a bit flimsy, I’ve never had one snap while vigorously swishing the bar around in the water (and I can get carried away sometimes). The product does tend to fall off the stick after the 3rd or 4th bath but all you have to do is use it as a normal Bubble Bar i.e. crumble under running water (I speak from previous experience using Tulip Mum and Bunch Of Carrots).
Did you see the adorable little bells on this Bubble Bar? …and they really do jingle! I can’t help but get look forward to the festive season ahead & can hardly wait to start decorating our home while listening to Christmas carols.
I will try to take some photos of the bath water going forward but the truth is, I get so excited when my bath water is all colourful and ready for me to jump into, I forget to grab my camera & take a photo. I’ll try harder next time – pinky promise! *extends pinky* I’ll try take a photo of my bath water next time I use Dummers Drumming and will update this blog post with the photo.
While I do wish the pink half of the wand had played a bigger part in the colour of the bath water (you know how much I love pink), the strawberry scented bubbles and jingling bells make this one of my favourite items from the Christmas 2014 collection and I really hope it returns next year!
Drummers Drumming Reusable Bubble Bar retails for R 89,00 and is currently available in the LUSH online store, as well as in-store (Cavendish, V&A Waterfront, Canal Walk and Gateway). You might think it’s a bit pricey for a Bubble Bar, but considering you will get about 5 baths from this little joyful stick, it works out to about R 18,00 per bath.
Please Note: This product does contain Benzyl Alcohol, I thought I would mention it to my blog readers who may not be able to use a product that contains alcohol.
