12 Days Of LUSHmas | Day 11 – The Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar

LUSH The Christmas Penguin

He swims around your tub, creating bubbles wherever he goes…  Another LUSH Christmas collection item I just had to take home with me, his name is:  The Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar.

I really love that the Christmas Penguins are all made to look different – some are fat, some are tall, some have short stubby noses, and others have long pointy bills.  Each and every little penguin is unique in his own special way.  These LUSH penguins are modelled on a species called Little Penguins (found on Philip Island, Australia) and are considered the smallest penguins in the world – how cute!!

The Christmas Penguin is a Bubble Bar, so he gives you a soft haven of bubbly glaciers, and fills the bathroom with an invigorating scent that is very similar to Pop In The Bath.  After using Mr. Waddle over here, my bath water felt super velvety with mounds of luscious bubbles to relax in (he also gave my bath water a slight turquoise tinge).  The blend of Sicilian Lemon & Mandarin oils, Bergamot oil and Orange Flower Absolut create an uplifting and fresh fragrance.  I find this scent to be extremely comforting, and is perfect for those who don’t necessarily want a Christmassy-smelling bath just because it’s the festive season.

Top Tip: You can use LUSH Bubble Bars in a number of ways – you can crumble a piece under running bath water, or drop the whole bar into the bath, swooshing your hand around to create bubbles.  OR (and this is my favourite), you can place it inside a hoisery stocking or muslin cloth & suspend it under the running tap water.  This makes your Bubble Bar last longer and prevents any undissolved pieces resting at the bottom of the tub.

I must admit, I used Christmas Penguin as is (I didn’t break him into pieces) because I think he’s happiest being plonked into the bath, free to swim around as he pleases.

The Christmas Penguin retails for R 54,50 and is currently available in the LUSH online store, as well as in-store (Cavendish, V&A Waterfront, Canal Walk and Gateway).

I saw this cutie pie at Lush!

I ended up buying ‘The comforter’ as gifts for some people though. It was my first time, so I didn’t want to buy too much and end up hating the stuff….which I now realise is IMPOSSIBLE!

If you put the bubble bar into the stocking, you just need to dry it out afterwards and it’s use able again?

The Comforter is always a great purchase – it’s one of my favourite scents at LUSH! 🙂 That and Brightside…

Yep, I like to tie it around the tap after I’m done with it to let it dry. And the next time you just hold it under the running tap again or if you’re feeling lazy drop the whole stocking in the water for a minute or two & take it out again to dry. If you decide to drop the whole stocking into the bath, then you’ll have to use your hands to massage the bar a bit to release some of the product and swoosh your hands around the tub to create bubbles. Obviously the bubbles won’t be as intense and plentiful because you’re reusing the bubble bar over and over again but I find it helps to make it last longer. This way, you get a bang for your buck! 😉

“I think he’s happiest being plonked into the bath, free to swim around as he pleases.” hahahahaha I had a good little chuckle at that. I probably wouldn’t have the heart to break him up either! Loving these posts 🙂

😉 I just couldn’t cut him into pieces or crumble him under the tap, he’s way too cute for that! 😀

Definitely picking this up, especially because the smell is similar to Pop In The Bath (my fav bath product). xo

The cuteness is too much to handle. Lush just has the best products, they think of everything to draw us in. 🙂
